EVE Boardgame

EVE is a hard-core sci-fi setting, ruthless, cruel, and cold. Set twenty thousand years in the future, the game world presents a human race straining at the boundaries of its own nature. Massive empires have risen to envelop vast areas of space, each aiming to shape the universe according to its own unique vision.

EVE: Conquests is a strategy board game for 2-4 players set in the EVE Universe. Players assume the roles of the four major empires in EVE and set out to prove their superiority by means of planetary domination. Their conquests require them to play the political landscape in EVE, an effort that often leads them to make war on those who defy them. Garnering the influence necessary requires tact and strategic management of resources in all spheres of operations.
It normally takes about 2 hours to play the game to completion.

The game is based on a highly successful computer MMORPG EVE Online.

Looks pretty cool :)

Doesn't look too complicated so could be a nice boardgame, question is how "easy" they have made it.

Yes hehe
But I have a very old "space" board game which has a similar look but isn't any strategy at all. But if it is similar to lets say the boardgame "excalibur" or "imperium" in complexity it is a nice game to play with my father and brothers from time to time :)

Ah crap, idiocy ate my lengthy response :(

In short, a modern quality boardgame, with classic dice pool (seen in umpteen games (originally AFAIK in a p&p RPG system called Harn) including WoW the boardgame and War of the Ring boardgame) and cards to provide sudden strikes. Has a calendar system that seems quite confusing at first glance.

£50 - £60 price tag on it
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

You have to make your own sound effects also - therefore beer is suggested :)
