Blood Bowl (and DUNGEON Bowl :D) was always one of the most awesome but least played games at our old gaming club. Such a shame. Now you can play it with the world and don't even have to worry about your models' paint chipping. :)

This whole connection issue is driving me insane though. Zone Alarm is wide open for Blood Bowl and the two required router ports are forwarded.
I've now written a rather lengthy email to support@bloodbowl-game.com, including a dxdiag and all four log files they ask you to send when you have technical issues. I hope to hear from them soon.

Taking the router out of the equasion seems to help somewhat. I actually succeeded in saving my team once out of five tries, and I was able to chat in the public chat box. I could also finally see people in my friends list, Swuul included. But I still keep losing connection with pretty much everything I do. So the router definitely isn't at the root of the problems.

Fingers crossed. =(

PS: Is there room for a 'Blood Bowl' field in our profile information? =P

He'll join the Dark side soon enough.
Especially as there is no collector's edition.
And he cannot help but acknowledge that itchy, tingly feeling he gets in his fingers.
Every time he lies awake at night thinking about us playing Blood Bowl.
Having the time of our lives (connection issues not included).
Beating up elves and skaven. Wreaking bloody havoc.
Kicking players into the crowds just to have them pummeled to death.

Oh yes... he will fold.

Now I can add text under my avatar as well zo/

Once again Focus customer service replied relatively quickly.
The advice was to update my graphics and audio drivers.
I'll give it a go, but I fail to see how it's related to connection problems. However, you never know.

New patch should fix some/many of the connection issues.

I've updated my video and audio drivers as they suggested, even though I don't see the connection (Get it? Connection?! Oh dear).
Problems remain. And now I have the added bonus of getting a connection error as soon as I even try to login as a coach.

I've asked them for other solutions or a refund. I have little faith they'll ever give into the latter.
Apparently a friend of one of my friends has the same issue and it's driving him insane as well.

Blame Holland.  Gunnar had (I think) similar issues with Lotro and connection :D

Started a claim through PayPal after reading the Blood Bowl forums and seeing countless others with the same issues.
Can't be bothered with this type of thing. Although I doubt PayPal will lift a finger for such a small amount of money.
If I can get my money back, wehey. If I can't, I'll just resort to angry blog posts instead.

If they provide me with a solution I'll just resort to being happy instead.
Started out great, but turned into a shitpile.

I two hours yesterday evening trying to help my friend solve his connection problems; he was not able to log on to the MP lobby except occasionally.

I asked him several times to deinstall the game from /Program Files, and reinstall to for example c:/Games/BB
Finally he did that, and the game started to work like a charm. Seems like Vista (64 bit) messes up the game installation real good if it's installed to /Program Files. Although his firewall settings were a bit too draconian too, he got absolutely nowhere until his fire-wall settings were toned down a bit.


Personally I've had zero techical problems with the game. For my sons computer the firewall settings had to be changed a bit, took maybe five minutes to fix.

personally i NEVER install games to my windows partition which is just as well seeing as im currently having windows issues and wont have to reinstall everything :)
