Swuliina got into her Hulk today. I'll stick firmly in high sec until I get slightly better tanking skills (of which she has atm none :P). In less than seven days I would however be able to fit the following (as found from Battleclinic), which I thought might be something I might venture towards 0.0 with?

Mining Laser Upgrade I

Cap Recharger II
Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Gistii B-Type Small Shield Booster

Strip Miner I

Capacitor Control Circuit I
Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I

Infiltrator I


Cap stable with all whistles and bells on, shields should hold against 104 DPS permanently, so should be fine in high-sec, but I wonder if that is even close to something needed in 0.0?  However, I am not sure about the fitting, as I have absolute zero experiene in Hulks... Comments, please? Is this something I might be sane to drag to 0.0?

I'd switch to hardeners dependant on the rats you might face.

the Gistii (=faction) shield booster is a very expensive way to go, and mebbe not too useful at the big shield a Hulk has.
without too much experience I cautiously recommend dropping the booster for more resists?

A general fit for 0.0 tanking whilst mining . This allows for all types of damage and is based on the levels of skill my 2 miners currently have.  The two rigs ive used are relevent to the type of rats we have in our sector of 0.0 (after all it would be more than a little expensive to swap rigs around to often  :P ). The photon scattering field could be replaced and one of the flux 2's can be replaced for a mining laser upgrade1 whilst lowering the cap stable to 43%. Hopefully i'd be out and gone long before any red's got near me but should the worst happen hopefully i'd have all bases cover to allow me to scream for additional help from alliance members.  ::)

Thats my idea so far. When I have more cash the booster would be upgraded to a B-type and another CCC put in for cap stability. (a CCC2 costs 250m...)

Tried it out today.
Seems the fit is reasonably cap stable (using strip 1 still) a little short on the tank side though :/.
Can easily handle a 1.85m bs but when there were frigs around the shield started to go down, not fast but still. Luckily I could easily kill the frigs with drones (and they were scramming hehe) so no real risk.
With some care as to what belt with what rats in I think it is rather safe to mine with it. Will do some more tries when i have hrod equipped and prepped to step in, forgot to bring ammo this time.
