Heraldry: Final
« on: October 19, 2008, 01:01:38 PM »
Making an executive decision here - that's my prerogative, although I have quite happily gone with popular choices to this stage - and presenting people with the following choices for how the heraldry will be.

Just a note - spare me comments on the colours looking washed out, thats not my choices being messed up, thats the game making the colours like that and it is not something I'd care to spend days waffling over. I'd like to actually have a heraldry ready soon!

Anyways, despite the emblem poll coming off with the white eagle as a choice, I had several ingame /t's and some pm's here showing support for the one that was suggested by Warcold (Lellebel) and have decided that I share that view after some internal dialogue with myself, and since I'm the one clicking the buttons on the reservation screen its a "fait accompli" ;) Plus, the eagle really didnt look that good when I went back to it, especially in white.

So without more words:

1. 2.

3. 4.

5. 6.

Number 1 pleases my eye :)   Going with the basic colours (blue, red, yellow) always is a good choice if you ask me :)

Aye its very very eye-catching indeed.

The gold/yellow in the emblem really shines through, and surprisingly the background/pattern colours still show well :)

Yes, if there is too sharp contrast between the background colours the emblem does not stand out well enough.
Voted 1 but would be ok with 4 if we want to keep it white/blue. Both bg colours are a bit softer on no. 4 so the sword emblem looks quite good.

I didn't vote in the emblem poll 'cause it confused my poor ol' head, but I'm pleased with the outcome.

Looks like blue/red is running away with this one. Voted for it myself.

Voted green/white, but I'm also happy with blue/red. :)

Black and white go with everything. Absolutely everything.

Blue and red seems to be leading at this point but having non-neutral colours will mean that a guild cloak won't look good with many colour schemes. I think it would be a shame if it came down to a choice between wearing the guild cloak and having the colour scheme you like.

But that's the rationale everyone will make - and so instead of having distinct heraldry, we'll look the same as everyone else (is my theory on this).

You can't really be very unique in an MMORPG. There's always someone running around looking the same.

People seem to like blue and red. That's what you get for allowing democracy. ^_^

I am so glad we have this voting and kudos to Beo for taking the time to do it.
Democracy is way more difficult and time consuming than any other system but so worth it.
In this banner case, everyone would of course be able to make a nicer banner ;)
That is democracy!

I thought democracy was the assumption that most of the people would be mostly right most of the time?  ;D

Nah, it's the assumption that they can't all be wrong all of the time :D.
