Bright Wizard Tips
« on: September 22, 2008, 10:03:42 AM »
Going to post a few, and hopefully get others posting as I level Burnavir. Totally enjoying the class, even after being led to believe it was the glass part of a glass cannon!

So tips:

[spell]Sear[/spell]: Is your friend. Builds combustion FAST, which lets you drop high levelled mobs often times before they get to you.
"May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk."

not always ;) i have 10 bright Wizard kills in my Bright Wizards bestiary, due to me going boom :)

when im on as my RP i always stick a HoT on any BWs i see helps them along :)

so get a healer to stick up a HoT and prevent those explosive situations.
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

I find i use scorched earth (short range AOE centered on caster, L10) to build my combustion a lot. 20 a cast and you don't need a target so you can build it up before you pile into combat.

Yes, you occasionally blow up but just burn it off occasionally using meltdown. The damage bonus at 70+ combustion is awesome and well worth the effort.

When doing MT scenario with Darn (lvl 17 BW i think) he almost needed a dedicated healer to keep him alive   :|
'Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime, and every kindness, we birth our future.'

'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'

...is pretty much the #1 tip for Bright Wizards: stick close to the healers. We can't tank for them, but kill everything that comes close to them. BWs are incredibly support-dependant, but do amazing damage when when they have that support. Learn to love combustion, and keep it up - Sear is an ok tool for doing this when you want to put some hurt on the enemy at the same time, but most of the time it's all about Scorched Earth. Your DoTs are not fire and forget - you'll need high combustion if you want them to crit-tic.
