EVE on TV (More 4, Tonight)
« on: June 23, 2009, 05:13:11 AM »
I may have to actually watch some TV tonight.  Turns out EVE's going to be on TV in a programme called "True Stories: Another Perfect World" at 22:00 today (Tues 23rd) on More 4.

Its either going to bemoan MMO's, glorify eve or show second life and hold that up as a shining beacon of light (for furries), but either way I'll be watching.

I wonder why media somehow has mixed up second life with the normal mmos?
Seems to be a place mostly made for cyber sex and such, not to mention that I doubt they are anywhere close to the reported subscription numbers.

Because its no doubt seen as "cool" by the typical marketing/coverage guys - more so when they hear of governments and celebrities doing stuff in it - it pretty much is a world for furries and emos.

Sweden for some idiotic reason spent money opening an "embassy" there a few years ago :(
The media loves the crap and uses second life as the measure of mmo's, that their real subscriber numbers are probably smaller than war doesn't matter.
Meh idiots.

That seems to be what I've understood it to be as well.
Only populated place is the sex places.

The eve part is pretty much the last 20 or minutes or so.

Mainly about the CSM and describing exactly what eve is.

ah, this non-UK resident had been looking for that, ta!
'Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime, and every kindness, we birth our future.'

'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'

How odd. It's a documentary shot by dutchmen, with a dutch subsidy, and it's not been on the tube here  first.
That's just not right! ;)
