So, what do we think then?
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:28:11 AM »
Well, despite my initial CTD issues, which seems to have settled down, I've really been enjoying myself in the last few days,

How have you guys been finding it?

One thing I have noticed, is the need to RvR and Scenario. In closed, I never bothered with scenario's, mainly due to the massive queue times, and didn't bother too much with open world RvR quests. This really gimped my levelling, as I reached the second half of tier 2 and found myself too low for everything.

This time round, I'm level 9 before hitting the second half of tier 1, and have full green reknown gear.

Moral of the story? RvR :D

yes im really enjoying myself

i found that i had done every quest in tier 1 dwarf area by lvl 9 but i did not want to go into tier 2 before i reached lv 12 so have made up the lvl difference with PQ's and RvR.

ofc there's nothing stoping me going to different pairings to help with lvling but i will stay in dwarf area's and leave the traveling for my alts.

i also wanted to get full influence in each chapter and reach RR10 before moving into tier 2 both of which i have achieved.

i also had my first CTD yesterday after 20 hrs of play and some issue now and again with tabbing out and the screen going black when tabbing back in which requires a client reboot but no issues that im not prepared to put up with.

i also think everybody working for the guild really adds another dimension to the game. :) :)

i made the mistake of travelling with gladin and doing all the PQs i could find led to some good gear however i hit level 12 and returned to dwarfy areas to find i couldnt take part in scenarios as i was too high, and couldnt partake in RVR without becoming a chicken, so now im trying to finish dwarfey area to get to tier 2.

Scenarios are the way to go as long as queues arent too bad, with my WH im keeping his level and RR the same its easier that way

While I think about it, is anyone else having issues with logging out? It takes an age to return to the character screen on my PC, and when I do, pressing quit seems to lock the client up. End task seems to be the only way to fix it.

Loving it - the world feels so alive its amazing to be in it.  The rvr is good fun - and actually has a point unlike in other current MMO's (Except EVE, but hey thats an exception to most rules!), hell as Garry said lastnight even PVE has a point beyond levelling and gear!

The only issue I have is the alt-tabbing and black screen issue - which as the game runs too slow in a window for me to have my 2nd monitor setup for forumage - is kinda annoying, but one I can deal with I suppose.

I think Warhammer Online is great, but of course not perfect.

I've just finished up with my engineer in chapter 2. Moving into Chapter 3 now, I think. I'm doing every quest I can find in the areas and also participating in PQs until I get full influence and a nice little reward from the guy with the three skulls over his head on a blue background when you qualify for a present.

What I really like, is how there's always something to do. Always. There's no sitting on a gryphon for 10 minutes (yet?). All the quests connect very nicely and the map interface is lovely as well.

What I dislike is that professions are... well.. undocumented? No quests or help regarding those whatsoever. That can be fun too, but for now I've learned salvaging and put off learning talismans until I have time and money to figure it out.

I also like the fact that it's 'real' so far. The armour and clothing I mean. It's true to Warhammer and not over the top (space marine shoulderpads with bubbling pools of shiny water in WoW anyone?).

There's a lot left to be discovered in the game and about the game itself. Tome of Knowledge seems crammed with info I probably don't know is there. Custom titles are the win. I think I had a glance of the whole tier structure somewhere and I went 'eek' when I saw how much is still to go.

I'm a PvE monkey. So not much RvR for me. Hope the rewards work out alright on PvE side though.

I hope they 'keep it real' in the future and don't overpower everything like BC in WoW.

Seeing as everyone in the guild seems to be able to play loads more than me. :P
I'll be levelling my characters on Order and Destruction (any word on the rumours of the Ruskies taking over that server?) chapter by chapter from now on I think. Dunno... I'll see how it works out.

CTD's haven't shown up since I started disabling all unnecesary running programs. Logging out does take ages. Downright 'exiting' while in game freezes my laptop. I think the fastest way is to alt tab, end process.

Right now I definitely have fun running around, doing quests. Which I didn't have in WoW. Quests in WAR seem to be a bit more spiced up. It's not as much kill x and bring me y over and over again. Or maybe it is, but there's a bit more fun to it somehow.

Are alts allowed into the guild?

Time to play now!

travel seems to be a short sequence no long travel times

Remember even PVE helps towards the war as a whole, and from what i gather you can gain pretty similar rewards from PVE just not as quickly ;)

im not generally a lover of PVP, however in this game its dare i say fun, not like WOW at all. Give it a go and impress yourself :)

My lovely old colleague from the UK told me they tried to deliver the CE at her house and it's now at a post office in York. =D

Anyone else get their box? Is it nice? Won't see mine for another week or so as it still needs to make its way to the land of tulips and windmills.
