Warhammer: Age of Reckoning

Goodbye GOA, Hello Mythic!

Recently, BiowareMythic the creators of WAR took over operations of the European servers from the undiluted failure that was GOA. As a consequence of this and subsequent server moves and the administrative transition, they gave every account ever some free time.

This inspired some of us to play again, and we have found a new love for WAR and for the RVR you can exeprience there. This love is so great money has been given to Mythic and we are recruiting for Hands of Justice on Karak Azgal once again!

So look us up in game by keeping an eye out for our recruitment adverts, or drop by our forums and make yourselves known.

[WAR]Endless WAR

Mythic/EA & GOA have introduced an Endless Trial for Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.  You basically get locked into Tier 1, but that is the best part of this now dying game.

Check this forum section for more information and come and join the fun!

Guild ranks to Rank 20!!

A couple of weeks ago not long after the guild was reformed on Karak-Azgal, the guild reached the Rank of 20, enabling our full standard to be displayed on our cloaks and banners.

Thanks to everyone, both past and present who helped us reach such a milestone!

WAR: Guild Reforms

Due to server changes by GOA/Mythic we have had to move to Karak-Azgal.  Emberstien(Backdraft) and myself, Beosvir have set the guild up there, and thanks to tech wizardry, the guilds rank of 19 has been retained.

So if WAR is a game you pick up from time to time and need a home, then drop by and join us. It has to be said the server changes have reinvgorated WAR, admittedly these changes werent needed had GOA not opened too many servers on release, but still the game is fun again at lower tiers!

Warhammer: Upcoming Game Changes

Today Mythic/GOA have announced a series of changes to the game. Below are the highlights, more will be published on our forum as things become clear and propogate through the press.

GOA has announced that a great big “Call to Arms” update for Warhammer Online will go live from March.
Top of the bill are re-instated classes Orc Choppa and Dwarf Slayer. Both are mirrors of one another: berserk, up-close brawlers with little regard for their own safety.
These will be introduced properly in March, but players can get a head start with the new classes by completing a live Bitter Rivals event slightly earlier. This event opens a Chaos-themed Twisting Tower RvR battleground, too.

The other big feature will be a Land of the Dead zone, home to an enormous new Tomb Kings dungeon that Mythic claims to be the spiritual successor to Darkness Falls from previous MMO Dark Age of Camelot. Here, remember, all factions fought openly – albeit after starting from separate corners of the immense underground chasm.

There were also tokens to collect from hellish enemies that could be spent on equipment sold by imps. And the further down players descended the much more difficult life became, culminating in an enormous boss encounter with the Legion – a screen-filling monster made up from thousands of corpses.

The Land of the Dead will be openly contested, then, and whoever controls the area will unlock the numerous public quests and instances associated with the zone.

The Land of the Dead opens fully in June, but realms will need to complete two previous live events for access. The first, Beyond the Sands, has yet to be detailed, but will happen in April.

The second event, Rise of the Tomb Kings, unlocks the Land of the Dead for each faction, and takes place in May.

On top of all this, Mythic will be finally implementing official Warhammer Online forums, adding extra Realm Wars functionality to the website, and offering a free trial versions of the game.

Plus, this Call to Arms update is just the first of the “live expansions” planned for Warhammer Online.

Rubino promoted to leader in WAR

A week or so ago, after much conversation between us, Rubino agreed to take on the mantle of General of our Warhammer chapter, due to me moving my gaming focus to EVE Online and the development of the corporation there.

I wish him well in this role and look forward to a bright future under his leadership.
