:)  You can use the broadcast system - so people can tell you when they need help.
Otherwise - warp in after other have the agro and you should be fairly safe.
The other alternative is to get somebody with drones to assign them to defend you as a backup.

I think I've got aggro only twice on the Osprey.

1st time was last Sunday when the second or third wave in one of the missions arrived, ie we were already everybody there. Kaboom shields went, kaboom armour went, swoosh Swuul warped out.

2nd time was last night, when one of the bigger NPC's decided to it self on me. Again we all were already there and I wasn't even the closest ship, so dunno what I should have done (except to warp out when it began to destroy my armour at an alarming speed :P).

This would depend a lot on what the people you are repping fly, but some of the ships i have used for missions have spare highslots after fitting weapons wich can be used for drone link augmentors, energy vampires, tractor beams or whatever. The t1 shield transports dont take much skill to train for, so if one or two others in the fleet have room for a shield transporter in their highs you could fly close enough for them to use it on you when you get aggro to give you time to warp out or to keep you up intil the rest of the fleet can blow up whatever is shooting at you. They should then also have you targetted so that the shield transfer can be switched on fast. :)

not gonna be an issue with me along in my "healy" ship as  we can cover each others backs if needed

Would be really handy if everybody could use the (1) Armor & Hull reppers and the (2) Light Shield/Armor Maintainance Bot I's.
In the not too distant future we're going to be in space without close proximity to stations - and it'll be a handy way to (1) heal yourself at the POS & (2) heal others.

Inspired by Mangalas post on the first of the page of this thread, here is a cheap fitting for an Osprey that I could fly on my JC (ie no implants). The idea would be that I'd use this for PvP and expecting to lose the ship eventually :p Ie basically what I'd like to bring for Wednesday's trip to 0.0 :)

For tactics vs a gate camp I'd first warp to closest planet or something, then warp back to 35 km from a fleet member and start the magic from there. Means the fleet would be without repping for ~20 seconds, but I'd *hopefully* be out of harms way and not even noticed when returning (I believe a repping ship would be targeted fast and killed first, just like healers are always targeted first in MMO games I've played in). If gaining un-due attention, again warp out and back in; at least it disrupts damage out put of the hostiles as they have to re-target something.

Please, any comments on the set-up (notice, the imperative here is affordable modules, not the best money can get :) ) and especially if there are any suggestions for survival tactics :)

Speed Mod of some sort maybe a necessity.  Provi locals eventually resorted to a bubble, and if we do come across any of those, then we need to be able to speed out of it sharpish.

How big are the bubbles? I suppose larger than 35 km?

Fitting an AB means I'd have to change the Large shield repper to a medium one or to drop the medium one and just use the Large one, which would drop the repping ability by a third.

I'd stick with mediums. And yes bubbles get big, they can cover gates pretty well and they are damn large in alot of cases.

So, I realised I hadn't actually turned the armour and hull-reppers off-line in EFT, and then I experimented with various set ups, and suprisingly I ended up with pretty similar to my PvE fitted Osprey. This set up reps shields 560 per 5 seconds (so quite a difference to the PvE set up), but the quite a few millions cheaper and I need no implants for this *and* I can run the reppers while burning the AB. It's still not the fastest boat around, but if I get a 30 km head-start, I might be able to outrun a snail... Outside combat (in safe spots) it can rep armour and hull damage, thus hopefully narrowing the time window hostiles would have to track the safe spot.

Any comments on this? And please tell me, is there any point of taking a repper for such a PvP action as we have in mind for Wednesday?

To totally honest, I am not sure of the efficacy of a repper for wednesday, its a dps drop and thats more important in a small group of 10 or so (along with ECM). However if you want to bring one, then that set up is great (although a hull repper isnt worth the time it takes to activate it with most peoples hull amounts when in frigates). Mobile enough to get through bubbles and still able to give a hand to the current enemies number 1 target.

Although saying that, Im possibly bringing an ECM boat (Blackbird) so it could make life easier for you ;)
