Alliance Tournament VI starts today :)

Lots of teams as per usual including teams from the disparate Faction Warfare corporations - some of the biggest names arent there (BoB and Triumvirate (mk2)) and some names from days past arent around around anymore (Mercenary Coalition) and others have had team members banned for POS mining Exploits (Evoke), but its going to be a hell of a tourny, as in recent tourny's its not been the big names that made the biggest waves. However Both the Goons and AAA (-A-) are going to be there :)

Sadly the first two weekends matches are not televised on EVE-TV as they have been in previous years, however you can enjoy some commentary and coverage in these ways:

1) Ingame via eve-voice in channel "Alliance Tournament"

2) Eve Radio – www.eve-radio.com

3) Split Infinity Radio – www.siradio.fm

4) New Eden Radio – www.newedenradio.com

CCP will be releasing video of these games a day or two later so we can actually watch.

The finals weekend on 7/8th February will however be televised - and its worth freeing up all the time to have them going while you are in game :)

watched all the battles of yesterday, AAA made quite an impression on me, but could be that their opponent was just crap.
also seems to me that mixed setups (3-4 races) are stronger than the 1-2 race fleets, but that could ofc be caused by smarter thinking on the setups, not the combo of different races itself being stronger. only exception seems Cry Havoc, although they took their time...

Watched only the linked one, felt very weird that a fleet completely (almost) of HAC droneboats could defeat a more balanced fleet (of t2 ships as well) that easily.
Perhaps they were just crap but looked a bit wierd.

The linked video shows them all - if you wait a few seconds at the end - it moves onto the next match :)

Nice to see the that they're using EW drones.  Frees up the ship to use tanking/dmg mods.
Very nice that the match with the stealth bombers - all the SB's survived!

goons lost pretty bad (sorry vac), but watching their movie teaches how (not) to use drones. not posting it, so as not to make this post too movie heavy

Day 3 and 4 are up. Unfortunately CCP has decided to put even better quality vids up (HD in stead of just high quality), which is nice to look at, but crap to load.
Normal quality is not so nice to look at, but you get the action...

AAA and Dead Terrorists seem to go strong, didnt watch all vids yet, but they are among my favos.

Evoke vs Fourth District was an amazing fight i still believe 4th could have had it if it wasnt for a silly boundary violation.

Aye, Ladel's guys really really should have gone through - they improve consistently every year. Maybe the next tourny will be the one for Caldari RPers to win :D

Having seen all the games now, Im very very impressed, less of the Remote repping crap seen at the last few tournies and some really great matches, full of some damn good action.

It was a good one this year.
They should implement an obsticle grid with some anchored things that generate effects: burst ECM, Speed bonuses (+ and -), etc.
