Instances & Lairs
« on: September 20, 2008, 09:45:22 PM »
Not many so far, but the first we tried was Altdorf Sewers (North: Tasty Morsel Entrance).

Fun pulls, but worked then out. Nice boss half way through - bennyhilled to death after I went down by Tharild with Gladin & Keggi on heals.  Final 2 bosses after more pulls, L16 Heroes, very very scary mobs indeed.

Will try that again, plus other Sewers in Altdorf, as well as these lairs I am hearing about :)

Found two lairs in the T-1 RvR areas so far:
1. In Norsca, when at the RvR objective, there's a back exit, take that, swim to the closest island (take a left), then there's a closed cave there. To open it, stand on the rune that signify your race (and have others stand on their rune) - it should open up.

2. Lair of the Bandit Queen: Northwest in dwarf area, near the RvR objective where you have to grab bitterstone ore. When facing the mine, take a right and go up the hill, you'll end up at the lair. Apparently you have to kill an enemy player near the lair for it to open up (I didn't have the opportunity to test this)

I suppose the elf RvR area will have its own lair. I haven't so far found any lairs in T2. Unfortunately you get chickened when checking out the lower-tier lairs. :(

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY south of the Armory BO in Fangbreak Swamp (Dwarf T2: MoM) sort of SW of the watery area the road to the Tower PQ runs through is a lair - L40 Troll of some description. Gladin has pictures :D

Found one in sw ostland and couldnt get in. It puts a riddle in the tok and there are 4 selectable graves. After a while I gave up and tried google but the answer wasnt out there yet...

Lair of the Defiler - Ostland - located in Ostland in the SW corner of the map up against the mountains. It is a crypt found within a graveyard. When first found the doors to the crypt are closed with no known way to open them. A clue to opening the gate in the form of a riddle is unlocked in the Tome of Knowledge when the lair is found.

Thanks Angelor.

Think Beo will take a visit that way today to get a visual read on the area and try and figure out those clues - and wait in the queue for Stone Troll Crossing :)

Marshes of Madness

Lair is level 40 hero troll, but dont worry he was hitting me for 1 damage at a time and died with 5 hits from me at level 21 makes no sense really

other 2 markers if completed will unlock a greenskin tome tactic ;)

Found a lair pluss some "the search for wisdom" unlocks in the elf T1 area, Just northeast of the Thanalorne forest PQ. Hit the northwestern shore of the lake there (should be a usable crystal on the ground, the wisdom thing) then you jump across a small gap and voila, a lvl40 undead orc choppa lair. Lair of Gorthlak i think it was ::)
I belive whatever dosent kill you simply makes you stranger.

Nice find Angelor, sounds easy enough to get too as well :0

So Mount Gunbad has been added to the Guilds Calendar for Wednesday 8th. I understand it to be a 3 wing instance, with the wings being public - chance of rvr in there! - and the final boss encounters of each wing and MG itself being instanced per party or warband in there. I'm looking at levels 22/23 and upwards for this, so feel free to sign up. (I dont think Warbands are an issue here, as it seems very PQ style, just indoors).

Current PvE instances and PvE lairs. So few instances, but a decent number of lairs.
