Sleepers are bitches.

The anomalies tend to have a bunch of sentries, then a mixture of BS/frig/cruiser.

Pending reports from others, it seems sleeper damage is rather EM heavy, and they seem weaker to EM damage.

Sleepers are omni tanked, exactly same to all damage types.
Sleepers do Therm/EM with their Beam (unknown ratios, presumed 50/50).
Sleepers do Kin/Exp with their missile (ie, one warhead = two damage types), and it's confirmed.

So invulnerability fields are the way to tank for them.

Aye certainly seems that way - coupled with excellent resist improving skills and some remote repping :)

A Scrapheap thread all about them.

I think the market in drones is going to boom.  Not sure whether thats for T1 or T2 drones though: I suspect people may start using drones the way that fighter pilots use flares/chaff to distract heatseeking missiles for these hairy moments. Drone boat users will need to boost all their drones speed/durability and their drone repair skills.

Not sure - some form of threat.

Which is where RRing battleships come in and T2 logistics etc :)

They don't like non-weapons being used against them - any form of EW and TP's will tend to get you primaried.
Which is a handy way to divert attention from more fragile gang mates :)

To quote from another forum "sleepers really really hate logistics". I guess I won't use my Basilisk in W-space unless there is some other remote-repper along too :P  Then again, reading various forums post on different forums seem to suggest that remote-repping is indeed the way to go vs tougher Sleepers, be it as spider-tanking or repping from far away with Logistic boats (if I am calculating right I'd be able to remote rep shields from 75 km, and if I understand correctly Sleepers have a range of 100km, so as long as the to-be-repped boat would be more than 25 km from the Sleepers, it should be doable at least in theory :P ).

So - all you who just had a horrid sleeper experience?

Feedback on it please.

What site did you go to, what did you face?  Can you post info from your combat logs?

My experience tells me:
"No point to go there unless you have at least 15m SP and fly top of the line officer equipped ships"

The payoff can never be close to the difficulty of the encounters.
No way in heck can a site have loot worth 300m+ which is what it costs, so I'm staying out until we go in with all the corp. Not going to lose another ship without any possible pay-off for it.

IIIRC we faced 4-5 frigs (got one) 4 cruisers and 3 turrets.

Food for thought on the "levels" of sleeper space:

i think the most important quetion to ask here is, Where are you planning on solo wormholing?
I expect the answer would be high sec wormholes. In which case u are most likely to find the easy perimeter systems or the medium difficulty frontier systems (so far i think i've only found them in 0.6-0.7 and below).

If taking on perimeter systems, then the sleeper don't web you, or scram you, so u can get transversal working to your advantage and keep moving to avoid the worst of the damage. I would imagine that that setup would tank 2-3 sleeper BS's in perimeter maybe 4 at a push. (max u find at anomalys is 2)

The frontier systems are a little trickier since the sleepers web u there and they hav better resists and hit harder too. your setup should be able to tank 2 sleeper bs's there too, if not, your not scrammed so if u start going down get out and come back. Again the worst spawn i have seen at anomalys is 2 bs's.

As for the core systems. Not a hope in hell of soloing them in anything. If u try, u WILL die. They web, scram and RR each other, have evil resists and are generally a pain in the arse to kill. These systems are generally only found via low sec and 0.0, althoguh as ccp hav stated, it wouldn't be impossible to stumble upon a WH leading from high sec to a core system. Just not very likely.

The only real way to find out is to try it. Be careful and start off in the easier perimeter systems so u can get a feel for how tough they are. and keep a close eye on your drones HP. the moment 1 starts to take shield damage recall them immediately.

Theory mainly but this thread on WH classes may be of use in determining whats achievable based on our average sp's and ships etc?

normally i kill frigs in 1-2 shots in my BC, here, I think we were eating of 5-10% chunks and took about 20 (BIGGUESStimate) secs to kill a frig with 2 BCs and whatelse shooting
before i knew what had happened, my 10000hp not so good tanked shield was down to 20-30% and once they started chewing at my armor i warped out

not much more i can tell you really
