Title: Politics Thread - What does the future hold?
Post by: Mangala on June 18, 2009, 11:04:07 PM
So The Great War II is over.

A once powerful alliance has become renegades, with no holdings of their own, having to rely on the graces of what are seen as temporary allies by many in the form of AAA, and the few who have been allied forever.  The Goons are now the holders of the richest space in the West, the North has Triumvirate to beat on (again) and its naps to go home to.  To the south AAA and other russians are carving out an empire along side Bobby and his boys in Atlas. In the East the drone regions are a flame with conflicts big and small.  In the midst of all this Red Alliance, formally a stalwart Ally to all but BoB has just announced it is resetting ALL standings - Red & Blue - it had with any entity in New Eden, all as a result of a change of leadership; Whether a good thing for the cluster or the beginning of the end for a once great alliance only the future has the answer.

One question that remains, will we see more resets and the end of coalitions and powerblocs? Will the one entitiy that could really set the world fighting again apart from Goons - Pandemic Legion - go crazy and call for blood?  Again the future alone knows.

Stay tuned - I'll keep this thread for cluster political stuff as things unfold in the coming days, weeks, months and hopefully years!

So Red Alliance, previously claiming to be resetting everyone, didnt. They had an attempt at a coup which got put down and are still Blue to their friends.  However they ejected some corps from the alliance and lost alot of sovereignty in the areas of space they held.  15+ systems just gone.  Atlas, Scorched Earth and others have taken advantage, but mainly these systems are just not held by anyone.

A new landgarab in Insmother for GKC maybe? Or will Bobby and his allies take them over? Or if as I believe the system of C-J6MT is one of those that could be lost, will other Russians such as AAA step in to "save" the system that represents EVE's 1942 Moscow?  The place which nearly saw the end of RA but for that famous russian tenacity.

C-J will lose RA sovereignty today.  No one is coming to help RA at this point. The Great War has seemingly tired their allies in addition to an almost civil war like state for RA and and other Russian "allies" following the recent attemped coup within the RA leadership.

Bobby and his merry band really are making some progress.

AAA - Against All Authorities.  A different breed of russians and a group that used to be tight with RA however things changed in a previous spat between them :)

AAA;
RA;
Red Overlord;
AAA Citizens;
Solar Wing;
Solar Fleet;
Legion of xXDeathXx;
Shadow of xXDeathXx;

All russians.  All the time;

If memory serves, Red Overlord is bankrolled by a russian aluminum magnate - basically has thrown money at the game and his russian brothers to ensure he gets his way.

Weird that there are so many russians playing mmos in general, sure a large country and all but feels like there are fewer germans which is a far richer country with a much higher internet penetration (afaik).

Certain countries have a much higher percentage of MMO-players for some reason.
One oddity is that you trip over dutchies in any MMO you play, but you'll hardly find any belgians.
Same (small) countries, samish culture....just different hobbies for some reason :)

RA's holdings are shrinking fast: 4 outposts remaining of the 17 they held and 33 sov systems down from over 100.  Will the next week see the end of RA as an actual space holidng entity? Their Goon allies are tryng desperately to aid them, but keep getting doomsdayed by unaligned titan holding alliances in their local staging systems.

Rumor has it the Goons are telling their allies to abandon Scalding Pass and Insmother and help them fight for Drone Space territories, that have an empire entry way, and have IRC and Ethereal Dawn to smack down under a very real threat of the Northern Coalition alliances coming to aid their Goon friends.

Space even after the events of the past few months remains ever more interesting!

What about the BoB/Kenzoku corps I hear people say. First to officially leave was Reikoku (RKK) lead by Dianabolic.  They will be joining Faction Warfare.

Quote
Jita, 27 June 2009 -- The last few weeks have seen the end of Reikoku Corporation's and the Band of Brothers Alliance sovereignity in 0.0 space. While it's not the result we played for, it is what it is. Congratulations to our foes and thanks to our members and allies.

The Great War has been many things to us and probably our foes: at times fun, exciting, disappointing, intriguing, and frustrating--often all at the same time. It's now at an end and it is time to move forward. That's EVE and that's the game we enjoy playing. Our alliance and our corporation aren't going to end; we aren't disppearing to PO(s)TBS. We were happy to be part of the greatest conflict in EVE's history; we're equally happy to be moving on.

For RKK it means we can now explore aspects of the game previously unknown to us. We will be joining Faction Warfare on the Minmatar side, pretty much all we've got left is rust and duct-tape so it seems a natural fit. This means that, for now, we will not be part of an in-game alliance, it means that we will revert to the original bonds that made us a Band of Brothers, a bond that has always superceded any IGA. They're our best friends and the best people to have at your side: those relationships won't change.

Everyone else, unless we've spoken to you you may consider this our standings reset - which will be effective from DT on Sunday, 28 June.

Thanks everyone who ever pew-pewed for or against us. It's been a blast for four years; here's hoping for at least another four years of fun, excitment and good gaming.

Have a feeling it is a ploy.
They need to lay low a while to get goons off their backs and rebuild normal fleets and get some income sources that isn't high end moons.

Another ex-Bob/kenny corp - BNC (Black Nova Corp) has made its home with the Caldari State.  Will EVOL & BNC.E & TAOSP amongst others take on other factions and enjoy sov free warfare against old friends?

For now mere speculation will have to do - maybe they are taking a deserved break from the trials of the past few months, I do hope that Tranquility hasnt seen the last of Sir Molle.

Drone regions are in flames, IRC & ED have been routed. RA has a new home thanks to its friends in Goonswarm and xDeathx.

With BoB out of the way and Goons' influence seemingly stretching all over the universe, will they become the next BoB? - The next most powerful block of players everyone bitches about and dreams about of taking down?

Probably.
Or they will just disintegrate out of boredom, I doubt they can keep their players interested with the main pvp being popping hulks in high sec.

Bit of post-mortem communication is required here.

Past few months nothing much has changed except band of Brothers aka Kenzoku reformed under the banner of I.T. Alliance.  And have spent the time since figting with PL over moons.

Will be interesting to see what comes of them in the future.  However some bright spark things this is the future:

So, this seems to be turning out to be slightly truer than most had thought it would... especially in the post-Dominion haze, although there is still some differences.

Basically IT have hit Fountain in the North-West of New Eden and are giving everyone there Good Fights, PL are holding their own in their station systems, SOT are having major issues internally and seem to be showing up less and less to defence ops, it usually turns out that PL and the increasing number of Goons show up to defend their stuff.  Apparently its due to conflicts between the Bulgarian coprs and everyone else in SOT. IT's russian allies AAA (or -A-) have begun showing up too, as Fountain really is great for shooty shooty now.

In the South-West "Stainwagon" is stymied by ZAF and Goon gangs, and battles just take and retake the same couple of systems over and over, while bomber gangs enjoy themselves too much.

In the East, Geminate burns.  Atlas and their allies have moved in intent on throwing out the NC pets that live there.  Razor Alliance - the so called "Best of the North" are forming up down there to aid against Atlas. Indeed both sides seem to be basing mere systems apart!  Bobby gets to go against Phreeze, one of the norths better FC's.  The coming weeks should be very interesting.

The Drone regions in the far-east are actually one of the quietest places to be right now.  Its all basically Russians going about the business of isk farming.

The North, well triumvirate and their allies (CO2 and Evoke) are in Pureblind (not exactly where that image predicted them, but still the north), doing their best to evict Most us - sorry Mostly Harmless from their space, while fending off Morsus Mihi and the remainder of the North that hasnt roadtripped to Geminate.

To sum up this, 0.0 space is pretty much one giant border conflict everywhere you go! Get into the alliances heartlands and you may as well be in empire without concord protection though.

Well it has been some time hasnt it.

The map I posted in previous posts regarding coalitions etc.  Its off slightly.

North doesnt include TCF now, Goons dont have any space in - well anywhere; IT own Delve, Querious and Period Basis and Fountain once more, Atlas and -A- are occasional blues, Goons are possibly gonna share space with the Dreddit guys in TEST (getting TCFs old space in Deklien).  Russians (drone regions) are on the move once more. Seiging the fuck out of major systems in Insmother (Russians spiritual home) and bringing this sort of hurt:

Its a beautiful sight!!

And CVA dont exist as sole holders to most of Providence.  -A- kicked them out on their way to invade the North with IT - which failed as the NC like to spam their blues onto people and crash systems and installed pets and such.  U'K - biggest pet recently got fucked - and are now controlled by Hydra.  And are now red to -A- and blue to CVA, and slowly giving their space away to hydra and CVA and probably selling some for the benefit of the bad man who fucked them!

In other news, the rumour mill suggests that IT are fighting -A- in provi and in bits of Q, PB ad Delve where -A- located assets, -A- are possibly blueing up to the rest of provi to shoot IT, while trying to claim U'K's space and Provi is returning to the roots of what it once was - just with lots of folks shooting each other. Atlas MAY come to help -A-, but with Russians spamming supercaps at them in Insomother, they are currently occupied.

The South is on fire and the North continues to bear it up.

Oh and PL is just hotdropping and temp blueing anyone with caps to kill it seems.

How things have changed.

Providence:
U'K got taken over in a hostile move. Corps kicked, lost space. Reformed as Damu'Khonde, and got their space back - most of it in a deal from the guy who fucked them. Rest of Providence seem to be increasingly ignoring -A- and enjoying themselves fighting each other as and when it pleases them, as well as the masses that are back roaming there.

Insmother:
Atlas welped.  PL got hired by RA & XIX and WN to aid them in hitting Atlas held space.  5 weeks ago it all began.  As of 6.22am EVE this morning, Insmother is in the Russians hands once again with the recapture of C-J (http://evemaps.dotlan.net/system/C-J6MT) the hub and heartland of the russians in EVE.  Up to this point Atlas havent really fought much, and also managed to lose 3 titans, 2 supercarriers and stacks of everything else.  Atlas are now in retreat to Omist and are hoping AAA will look after them.  Insmother is russian, detorid and wicked creed may face the same fate once Atlas abandon them.

North: Northern Coalition. (Dots important) has formed with members of the old Tri alliances and various other parties. They are making headway in Pureblind - at the expense of NC pets and main alliances.  MM and Rzr are off in the north Drone regions in the east trying to purge IRC while the other drone russians are fucking Atlas. Will be fun when they return :D

Western EVE: IT have removed AAA from the small handholds they had in Querious and are just roaming space from time to time, not doing much.  Making ISk and stabilising their space/income etc is at the forefront, although i do hope for a winter campaign somewhere.

Catch - AAA are losing good corps, and alot of their supercap pilots are joining the drone russians.  AAA may cascade as an functioning entity or may get shot by someone!

Empire - well empires empire :)

Update.

Green Alliance - atlas pets alliance, is also moving back to Omist/Empire.

AAA has lost 4 major corps in 2 weeks.

IT go campaigning on Friday - to an as yet unknown destination.

Seems Bobby Atlas possibly left eve last week :)

Then this just happened:

Quote
This war has ended today with the surrender of Atlas alliance to the Russians.

Both sides have deposited collateral with Chribba to ensure compliance, and Atlas has agreed to the following conditions:

-Atlas will provide 2 titans and 3 supercarriers to the XiX/WN/RA coalition
-Atlas will drop the Atlas alliance name

-The Russians and PL will set temp blue status to Atlas to allow them to evac their old space
-The remaining CSAAs active in Omist will be allowed to complete their production
-I believe the reformed Atlas will be allowed to stay in Omist

PL's contract is over and although we have our next job already lined up you can contact Noobjuice to discuss hiring us after that one finishes.

Quote
Opening logs...
28th 1845 Eve AXDX Omist
UAxDEATH > so we got a deal ?
Gloria Khan > i say ok

29th 0915 Eve AXDX Omist
jenan Hyswa > ok deposit is on account with chribba

Chribba recieves ISK from both partys and then...

After DT Atlas as per agreement capitulated, was set blue and is due to pay tribute to WN XIX and RA.

Agreement

Colleteral: Atlas to pay 65b and XIX to pay 115b to Chribba
Tribute: 2 titans and 3 motherships to be transfered through Chribba to RA/WN/XIX
PL to stand down and their contract should finish when the deal is complete
Atlas will drop Atlas Alliance name

Victory Day 29th of August 2010 over Atlas empire

Delve 2 and 3 from a Goons POV:

Quote
I joined in August 07 in a newbee drive . I only paid for my first 2 months in EvE, so over the course of 3 years I spent around $30 total, paying for your gametime with in game ISK is something all players should shoot for.

A few weeks after I joined GF, the Alliance formerly known as BoB announced their withdraw from the South conceding defeat. They released this video trying to gain sympathy from the Greater EvE Community. It is pretty well made including custom models and animation but the story is bullshit. They call themselves "The Allies" and use emotional music trying to paint the picture that they were the underdogs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1yS6iZWBiA

We had to set them straight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4diQEwrjv8

Propaganda in EvE is more meaningful than in other games and can truly effect the perceptions of the common EvE pubbie, and it did. Stahlregen, Polukets, Vadinho, are all talented and super creative. Polukets made felt puppets of bees and made a stop motion music video for gods sake, which happens to be the best thing to ever come out of EvE. Our propaganda is so effective that CCP is starting to steal some of the concepts Goons have used over the years. Specifically "Be part of something big, even if you're small" as evidenced in the Butterfly Effect trailer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08hmqyejCYU

I joined as Goonswarm was finishing up conquest of the south and setting up shop in our new space. I lived there until the first Delve war which went about as good as you would expect. We hit them hard several times and were on the road to winning until the death of a Russian titan in NOL and several Allies flaking out on their part of the bargain grinding the campaign into a stalemate. At which point we finally returned home. In the end we weren't really defeated, after all what can you do against 12 Titans sitting next to the thing you have to kill to take the system. They could fire off a 250KM radius Doomsday every 5 minutes if they wanted to.

We went home to the South and happily Jewed in peace for a few months until we were attacked by our old Allies AAA (after a fiasco involving ownership of a static Mission Complex). Soon after BoB smelled blood and dogpiled into the fight. We had Director level spies turning off our System Sov in at least one system and we were facing a huge group of players. We were able to hold them back in some of the largest battles EvE had seen up to that point.

Beginning of the invasion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUuyEv2jhO4

Even as we are winning, the war began to drag on. Then something magical happened. The story everyone knows about.

Before: http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/c...te/20090204.png
After: http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/c...te/20090205.png

We torched everything we couldn't carry and slammed into Delve hoping for something awesome. Instead for the first time since I started playing EvE it actually became SPREADSHEETSINSPACE. We camped the majority of BoB into a Station for a month with the help of our Allies. It remains the longest operation in EvE history and the most boring. I personally spent about 3 weeks cloaked in that system. We took to reading books and things over teamspeak to keep ourselves entertained. Everyone thought the second Delve war was going to be the biggest thing EvE had ever seen lasting for months and months, instead we watched spreadsheets turn green as our Capital fleet obliterated Delve while we held the hostiles in Station.

Delve2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H9dQfVN3Ns

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_UtqfN9twc - VD Day. Victory in Delve Celebration in 49-U, one of the lynch pin systems of the EvE Universe. 25 titans DD a Carrier. CCP actually ended up using this footage in their Fanfest Presentation later that year as an argument that Titans have gotten out of hand. Not like we had been saying that for years already. Instead of an AOE weapon Titans now had the ability to target and destory single Capital ships with one blow. The biggest Fireworks show EvE has ever seen.

Heres a different perspective with Teamspeak.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9H5-8B6Sqc

The south was gone and we finally moved into our new space in Delve, our goal from the beginning.

So looonggg Detoridd, Goonswarm says Goodbye to the South. Lots of interesting History in this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c0DCNB-VuI

We lived in Delve and became SpaceJews of the highest order, I was able to afford a Carrier of my own finally as well as Billion ISK T3 ships. All was well, except there wasn't anything to shoot at really.

BoB, now called IT had been spending their time wisely and was finally in a position to try and retake Delve and began attacking.

Delve3 had begun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoNAorIzB50

quote:

In the early hours of 26.01.112, GoonSwarm corporation GoonFleet lost sovereignty over 30 systems across Delve, Querious and Period Basis after automatic payment of the upkeep bills failed due to depleted funds in the main wallet division of the corporation.

Enemies of GoonSwarm in IT Alliance [-IT-] and Against ALL Authorities [.-A-.] were quick to respond to the changes, pushing into the fallen systems. Against ALL Authorities took 3 systems in Querious while IT seized sovereignty over 8 systems in Delve, including the outpost in NOL-M9. (This outpost was hotly fought over in two previous wars in Delve, between GoonSwarm and Band of Brothers/KenZoku, whose corporations now are part of IT Alliance.) Relative new-comers and IT allies Black Star Alliance also sent forces from their new territories in Fountain, capturing 8 systems and the outpost in 8WA-Z6.

and ended just as abruptly because shocking everyone, we called an immediate retreat when our Sov dropped saving Billions in Alliance and personal assets.

A good read, with some good videos in it.

Welp, atlas are fucked harder:

Quote from: Raivi
From the sounds of it the corp that owned the first few supercaps coming out decided to fuck over the supercap builders in the other corps by running off with them. Deal is off, Atlas is reset and the 65b should be transferred from Chribba to the russians soon.

Lol
Not to unexpected (and in a way seems bobby was right ;) ) focusing on helping the supercap builders might not be the best for an alliance as a whole hehe

So Atlas is gone, AAA is next.

PL is hitting them for lulz, INIT is hitting them as AAA tried to tell them how to behave and what not, IT is attacking them as Molle is pissed they abandoned MAX 2 in the north, fucking it up for IT, XIX, RA, WN, have shown up to take space, some of which they are giving to INIT, some of which they'll keep.

6 alliances invading the space of 1!!  And AAA only has ROL/SE/Coven to support them...  And their pets in AAAC are busy offering to pay their new masters already...

Probably - after all AAA are dead now and Init hold a HUGE chunk of AAA former space.

In other news:

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1400711

NoirDOT are giving CVA their space in Provi and stopping holding space themselves.  There is DRAMA involved ;)

Wonder how it will affect init...
Given they are fairly small in numbers (even when including init mercs)

A goon on another board I use for gamingy stuff wrote this:

Quote
the Deklein Coalition and friends (Goonswarm Federation, TEST, TNT, Wildly Inappropriate, etc.) have nearly completed construction of the z0rtal. The z0rtal is a jump bridge network leading from Deklein to Fountain via Cloud Ring. Prior to its inception, we had a trip of 20+ jumps one way along perma camped routes to go and shoot the terrible pets of IT. While bitter vets may look fondly upon their days of traveling dozens of jumps in the snow uphill both ways to shoot POS and get a nice pair of blueballs, spoiled newer players would rather have travel times reduced to something a bit less masochistic. As of this writing, the first station system in Fountain has been captured for the DC by way of a solid two weeks of raping IT pets, followed by the utter embarrassment of losing a roughly equal fight to Goonswarm in Euro prime, a timezone traditionally ruled by all the previous incarnations of IT.

Just what is it with PNQY-Y!! Its ALWAYS the entry point for takeovers of Fountain (PL hit there when they raped BRUCE way back and so did IT last year against PL and now the Goons against an IT pet...)

Fountain is on its way to being owned by TEST now.

However the latest big news is that IT Alliance is likely to disband this weekend.  Black Nova Corp is either leaving or itself disbanding this weekend (having already transferred ownership of its outposts to Tinfoil of IT), SirMolle was due to take an EVE break to emigrate to the US and has been offline much of the Fountain and Catch conflicts anyways, IT also lost several of their heavy hitter corps in recent weeks too - some of whom are now playing alongside drone russians and White Noise. The remaining corps could either dig into delve and make anyone coming over there pay to take space (and who wants it? Do Goons, just because? TEST? -A- and other russians as it would be nice to make more renter isk! or the NC stalwarts?) or as suggested elsewhere may fragment off to wherever they will be taken - some may follow FINFLEET & X13 into Raiden. though.

Over on SHC someone posted a thread along these lines, so I'll quote his OP here:

Quote
Now that it is quite clear that IT will fall, I'm interested to see what everyone thinks the aftermath will be.

Here's how I see the current situation

Goons/Test/Allies are strong in fountain. It's safe to say the region will fall to them.

Raiden has set themselves up in Detoroid. Given that we haven't seen a supercap shitstorm, it's probably safe to say they are aligned with the drone-allied Russians, but I honestly can't say for certain.

BNC went the way of the dodo.

DICE looks to potentially head their own direction.

RKK and EVOL will probably still stick together somewhere, but I'm honestly not sure how well they will survive this time. Last time, they had the pride of more or less going down swinging. This time, it looks like their morale is more or less completely crushed.

The other IT corps may stick with them because they are shit, but it's hard to say.

Sys-K I imagine in a similar such situation as the scrub IT corps.

-A- and their allies are going to roll through Querious largely unopposed.

Lower Stainwagon appears likely to roll through Period Basis in a similar manner.

Stainwagon in general seems to have secured the deep south

Evoke, NCdot, and CVA are the dominant peoples in providence, though Evoke seems to be on roadtrip in Geminate. It's hard to say much about providence beyond that.

The Drone region russians rival the NC in territory now, controlling everything from the NC to Omist. One can only imagine they are pretty seriously powerful now, though the final details on their relationship with the stainwagon group remails somewhat unclear.

PL is riding bikes in pure blind, engaged in regular combat with the eastern NC.

So, what is likely to happen? Who will take delve? What happens next? What major coalition/alliance dies this year?

To get us started, here's my thoughts.

Stainwagon takes delve. Test moves down in full to fountain. I think the NC will see taking Delve as a bit of an overextension, however the south has the renter model in place to truly take advantage of the region, and thus make a push for it.

The drone russians are opportunistic. They are going to wait and see what developments exist for them to take advantage of, but won't do anything themselves against a hardened opponent. The eastern NC has had it in for them for a while, but PL's interference and the western NC being down south has kept them from committing heavily to an invasion in that direction.

Unfortunately for them, IT dying will bring the west back up to push out PL. There's very little :smug: likes to do more than stepping on someone else's :smug:, and I feel like the goons have been waiting to stick it to PL a bit and get them away from their jewgold. Evoke's roadtrip will end in similar fashion.

If the NC is smart, they will make a big push for Etherium Reach and the rest of the dronelands. I don't think the NC really so much wants the space, but taking out the russians has to be their next big priority. A combined invasion by the whole NC would be hard to stop for the drone guys, even if Raiden. and WN. are there to help fight them off.

However, knowing the IT residents, those that survive are likely to make the best effort possible to kick in the teeth of the NC. I think you'll see a lot of them recognize their best shot at revenge bolt to the drone regions or far east. Even with IT in their current state, their corps in conjunction with the drone region powers would make a scary group that might be able to stand up to the NC.

This means that everything comes down to what Stainwagon wants to do. Striking at fountain to fight the NC could turn the fight in favor of the NC. Striking at White Noise in revenge would certainly swing things back in the other direction. Especially with PL in play, they have a lot of options - I don't think they could take either one of the other two coalitions alone, but they are powerful enough to make their lives miserable.

Then again, it's very hard to say any of that is accurate. All the people in control of space have a very large track record of being slow to act - the only reason I think any of this will happen is because the NC was /trying/ to invade the drone regions before PL shat in their Venal-cheerios.

Anyhow, poast your thoughts~

Hopefully it (the space) will go up in flames... Otherwise we will have 2 groups controlling all space in eve... Of course what are they to do with the billions upon billions of renter isk they make...

If -a- goes for querious wonder how much they will have of it and how much stainblock will demand.

Been whelping against the DRF/PL/Raiden/NC./Merciless etc all month, loosing moons left and right, and now when H-W got assaulted, they went home after blueballing a PL fleet.  No good fc's log on anymore, their super pilots are all jumping ship or just not logging in, Goons and TEST looking to reset them as even they know the NC is done for, and hemorraging pi,lots left and right.  Its the fucking end times for the north!

Its rumoured to be way less than that - but no one has leaked the Pl forums to confirm :(

Anyways, Goons reset most of the North bar the big 2 or 3 really.  Basically reset all the pets and bads and renters:

(3:36:45 AM) directorbot: Good evening, gentlegoons. As you may already know, the NC forces were not able to match the 120-supercapital blob (led by a coalition of vehement anti-blobbers and anti-bluers) in Tribute and so stood down rather than waste their fleets in suicidal gestures (this was the correct decision). The NC as a whole is likely to cease to exist after this engagement (whereupon seven or so full CSAAs will/have died), as key parties have Had Enough With All Of This Nonsense; as a result, there's nothing restraining me from resetting various 'NC Blues' who we don't actually have any relationship with. Going forward RAGE, BCA, OWN, Stella Polaris, United Front Alliance and Majesta Empire are all reset, as well as various 'bullshyt guests' such as Demon Hunters and god knows who else we can find to prune off the list. Violet entity, Cold Steel Alliance, Polar Splendour. Enough, enough!

Of course, we will remain blue to our core allies in Morsus Mihi and Razor, and our local partners in the Pure Blind region, as well as aiding them in the process of rebuilding after the difficulties of the past few days. Our debts to our friends in Morsus and Razor will not be forgotten; meanwhile, it's hard for me to figure out what we owe 'Cold Steel Alliance', or even who the hell they are.

RZR is loosing Branch and Tenal slowly but surely, Tribute is in flames (Morsus Mihi territory), and there are hundreds of jf's doing evac runs back to empire in any safe route they can find to jump through!

Ncdot is claiming stations in Tenal, Raiden looks to be too - and Branch.

Necrobump!

Just when null was getting stale - except for my Ganked roams lately :D - the major Russians reset each other:

Quote
The Official Statement from Legion of xXDEATHXx of the 8th of Dec 2011.

There will be a standings reset between Legion of Death and Solar Fleet right after downtime.

This tough decision came as a result of all diplomatic attempts, towards our old neighbour Solar Fleet, failed. Drone Regions are no longer the quiet corner of the universe - a war begins now. Not only the ingame war, but political and propaganda warfare: there are already articles on forums, there was a DDoS attack on our services for the past several hours, our Teamspeak, utilities and billing system.

Alliance Legion of Death is now mobilizing forces to fend off the aggressors and to protect what Drone Regions stood for since the begining.

These two are pretty much THE major russian players (Red is an odd one, as its rumoured they basically do what Goons say, but you know how rumours are), and are now at war, although I understand that White Noise holds most of the Supers in known space and they have very close ties to Solar Fleet.

Should make my roam this weekend interesting as I was heading into Russian held space for a change ;)

And Delve - and eventually the South most likely - is on fire again...

Quote
After a generally boring spring where the most notable sov shifts were former drone regioners moving out as Russian Civil War and AAA-RA conflict consequences shook out, war has returned to New Eden!

First, let's set up the players with some background of what they were doing over the course of the spring.

ClusterBadgers: Consisting of TEST, PL, Goons, and all their assorted pets. TEST's last major action had been a failed Vale of the Silent and Geminate campaign while the rest of the CFC was steamrolling Branch and Tenal. PL did a brief sov grind in the russian civil war to fulfill a contract, and after that they got kills more frequently in BF3 than EvE. So while the goons, having blued most of the former NC, and worked out NIPs with the rest of the northern residents to protect their ISK printing moons, turned their eyes on highsec for their next victims, PL and TEST still wanted some good nullsec action.

SoCo: The AAA-RA war ended firmly on the side of the former. Looking around the Sov map for what would likely come next, AAA decided to install RA in Delve as a barrier of sorts between them and TEST. The current residents at that point were Nulli Secunda and Vera Cruz, neither of whom took too kindly to that, so there was some decent action between the two of them, despite them both ostensibly being below AAA on the same ladder.

TEST decided they'd try to get some fights in Delve, since they were blue to everybody in the other direction and their last cross-galaxy deployment didn't end well. RA, Nulli, and Vera Cruz, perhaps overreacted to that, and all teamed up to fight against TEST, who rightly brought PL along for the Ride. Many good fights were had for a decent amount of time, with results going both ways and not much territory changing hands.

As fleet comps gradually escalated, Nulli brought in standalone alliance Black Legion to execute a trap, managing to take out a PL titan. The "Honeybadgers" (as PL and TEST like to be called) took this as a more permanent escalation, and started to have their supers and tons of caps on standby for nearly every op. Nulli and friends seemed to have intended it as more of a one time thing, and weren't prepared to deal with that. They started avoiding fights, and calling in AAA and others on a more regular basis. With that, and the Goons once again itching for a fight, the stage was set. Now, it's everyone from Fountain to Tenal against everyone from Delve to Detorid, with the possibility of SOLAR (probably the most competent overall sov-holding alliance) coming in on the side of the SoCo.

As always, with a great war comes great propoganda, and this is the best of them yet:

The Mittani.

Early hours on 6/25:
"You have three days to prepare. We - and 'We' means 'Everyone' - are going to Delve, and it will burn. No mercy, no respite, no 'freeports', just brutal conquest - conquest which will not stop until this threat to our bloc is extinguished. If that means that we must set all of Catch on fire to remind this ex-NC, ex-IT, ex-BoB...their proper place in the universe, so be it. "

Afternoon:
"WAR, WAR IS UPON US: Solar Fleet and Gypsy Band have now announced their deployment to Delve. Raidendot and Initiativedot have joined the fray. Nulli, -A-, and the entirety of the eastern galaxy are now forming in order to push into Delve; we are on the verge of the first true East vs West conflict in EVE history."
