Let's try to get a good showing guys.  Should only be for an hour or two.
Be on Vent - even if you can't/don't like to talk.

If you don't have ships or don't know what to use - tackling is good, EW is better, BS is best :)

We came, we waited around, some of us had to go.

16.45 Eve local is a revised meeting point - I'll probably miss that, but will try to be here. Logged out in PNQY anyways.

Title: Re: Alliance OP

At about 19:00 ET the call went out:
"Massive muppet fleet in hophib comming to pnq"
~150 muppet ships of which a large portion was BS started a trip towards PNQ.
A small fleet of Event Horizon ships assembled quickly waiting for the inevitable storm to come.
After about 1h of waiting the system started filling up quickly, muppet bubbles everywhere and we were outnumbered 3:1 or more.
Waiting patiently our friends answered and a large fleet of Arcane showed up, so with the tables evened we started hunting them. Two jumps (and they were already on the run) we caught up with the fleet at the RP2 gate. At the same time more reinforcements from SoT and PL arrived at the scene.
Then a slaughter began (at least it looked that way from my pov) with us rushing into range (me getting killed).
After a quick refit I arrived back at the scene and started some hit and run attacks on pods, and after that I got a bit more confident and tackled primaries when I found them
No more deaths for me and the PMS fleet melted away to our lasers, blasters or artillery bombardment as well as to their own escape.

All in all a very fun and exiting evening :)

Sounds like I missed a fun fight - im currently reading the aftermath here in the SHC Fountain thread (pages 22 onwards):

http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?t=21189&start=315

I've also put the kills you guys are on from the EH kb onto ours except for a couple that I'll look at when I get back today as they wont post for whatever reasons.

I can say that I had no real idea how many allies to us was in system, nigh on impossible to get a clear picture for me hehe.

Post by: Mangala on April 06, 2009, 07:39:19 AM
Thanks for the SOT link - helped fill some gaps and enable me to add the kills I couldnt from the EH board.

As for numbers - it is hard when you are on the field to work out, but a quick scan of local can help as can the aftermath and viewing the uptodate killboards.
Title: Re: Alliance OP
Post by: Warcold on April 06, 2009, 09:18:14 AM
i think EZ had 40 pilots, of which only about 5 were BS, rest were cruiser, BCs, frigs and T2 frigs and cruisers
then, about 120 puppets entered system
after that, Arcane entered with about 50 BS
after that i lost track, but highest i saw in local was 350, and saw SoT and PL and mebbe Sirrius too?

now i am going to read this SHC thingy, which says the same prolly  :D

Title: Re: Alliance OP

Seems only BS's matter :(
Title: Re: Alliance OP
Post by: Rubino on April 06, 2009, 11:11:33 AM
It's not just about BS's but they do tend to have more staying power on the field.
The hostile fleet was around 100 ships - the friendlies had around 200 ships.
The hostiles started jumping out when the brighter ones amongst them realised that they couldn't win.

No one KB is accurate - but for losses the PMS KB is probably more accurate on the dmg they took.  The SOT kb is missing a few notable kills that I know happened last night (Iceblock was a primary target early on).

A Call To Arms has been put out by the alliance for an operation this evening in PNQ.  Mustering will start around 8:30pm EvT.
Time to teach those foul mouthed PMS a lesson or two :)

lol

Thanks for the show guys - helped a lot both in the eyes of the alliance and with some experience - esp with the use of fighters in fleet.
A lot of waiting around I know - but it paid off and we made a dent in PMS's presence.

Some nice dmg done:

Nice work guys: http://www.handsofjustice.co.uk/maadikb/?a=corp_detail

Had to do some work on grabbing those kills - I only grabbed those with names (even if it was the system name) as the SOT board had some messed up and some that are duplicated (looks like kb inflation when dupes happen and arent taken care of), but they are only pos mods so of no major importance :)

The POS aspect was a handy way for the guys to learn how to use fighters - and it worked pretty well all in all.
I noticed mine were being used pretty well.  The only issue the guys need to be aware of - is watching their HP and returning them if they're starting to take too much dmg.

Weird part for me was that they just disapeared just when I was about to set an attack order and since no damage had been done to them (been in warp the entire time haha) that wasn't the issue either.
Meh maybe they were jealous of my "x-wing" haha

:) Generally a carrier pilot will recall or reassign the fighters if they appear idle for too long.

Once they're assigned - you can't see who they're assigned to or if they're taking dmg - just that they are in distant space.
Idle fighters may be being attacked or suckered away by a hostile to be attacked and a complete set costs about 300m - so we tend to be a little cautious.

Aye - it's been an issue for years but I guess the same problem as not seeing people taking dmg on your watch list if they're not on the same grid.

Aye - they've been pretty cool so far and done a grand job.

I'd like us to initiate a few more little fleets to roam a little and get some decent action - if we pick our engagements we could get some decent kills.
