Title: Mining op
Post by: peo on March 18, 2009, 11:03:36 AM
Was thinking, should we try to have one day a week as a mining op for the corp?? Mainly since the good stuff is a fair bit away from our "home".

edit:
Also it could be a good way to restart the industrial side of the corp so to speak, since we from what I understand are still aiming for cap production (and t3 as well)

I agree with you entirely and it was one of the things on my 'list of things to do' as a potential mining manager.

As a side... You lot may want to get someone else to do the 'mining manager' role. Things are not looking very good for me playing on a regular basis until at least august / sept this year. Ive had a number of things dumped on my plate that have eaten up 90% of my spare time  :-[

I'd be up for mining - but probably not until late weekend as I've yet to move some chars :)
Start locally as a first step until we get to grips with things.

I'm training up cmaxx as a mining director, if that helps. He's at level 3 on Mining Director and Warfare link specialist 4, Wing Command 2.

What else is needed training wise?

Not much as far as running ops goes, heck you dont even need the leadership skills for it - plenty of other people do (we have 2 orca using and boosting pilots at least), but they do obviously come in very very handy to have.

Good processing skills maybe - that way the op leader can also be the guy doing the processing, lessening the wait time by producers, by the members who need paying etc?

I think I've got perfect processing skills across the board in stations with 50% base refinery equipment. Not so sure about stations with the lower base refinery, probly a few weeks worth of training to get them all up to level 4. Level 5 always seems a long train for those..

I have an alt doing Scrapmetal Processing V - tell me about it :D

If you cross-train the Rorqual then you're welcome to use it.

Quote
Capital Industrial Ships skill bonuses:
-5% reduction in fuel consumption for industrial cores per level
5% bonus to effectiveness of mining foreman gang links per level when in deployed mode
50% bonus to the range of Capital Shield Transporters per level.
20% bonus to drone damage and hitpoints per level.

Role Bonuses:
900% bonus to the range of survey scanners
200% bonus to the range of cargo scanners

99% reduction in CPU need for Gang Link modules
99% reduction in CPU need for Clone Vat Bay

Can use 3 Gang Link modules simultaneously.

She has all 3 of the mining gang links installed (cap, Cycle time & range) and the Clone Vat bat.
I don't yet have the Industrial siege module - just need to buy it and the BPOs for compression.

Update: Have all 3 gang links installed now.

I'd like to get a corp op moving sometime soon in Z3 if Peo/Mac can arrange it.
How many hulk pilots do we have now in Fountain?  I have 2 available.

20 days or so until I'm in a hulk but I'll join in a barge.

I'd suggest Sunday night for a op, since we already have the corp op night then.

I have 2 characters in Hulks (1 can also fly an orca). I have a 3rd character that will be orca capable within 25 days.  The only issue is that im not in 0.0 in any form yet, and am unlikely to be for several months yet.
I think you may want to have someone else take the mining manager role as im not even playing at present.

np - when you're ready for things to be moved - let me know and I can arrange it.

Regarding the Sunday Op - what are the thoughts on security?

I'll have hrod aligned etc either in a tackler or fit the cane for pvp, armor buffer tank and a repper with mwd and disruptor/webber etc.

If we can get a couple of ships (alts of the people mining would be preferable I think) that should be enough. Of course keeping a close eye on local so that the more squishy mining ships can warp out while combat support warps in. I doubt that he relatively small gangs that usually pass through will be able to do much to us with such a setup. We know from the test we did yesterday that the drones will have a tough time against the probable tackler they come in but he won't by himself be able to do squat (against anything valuable) but the sentries should be able to chew up his support quite well.

BTW it seems eve doesn't go to summer time.
So 6:30 evetime means 7:30 GMT and 8:30 CET.

Ok - so looks like we have the Rorqual, a few hulks and a retriever or 2.
If the others can help provide some interference should hostiles turn up and rat/roam in the intrim - then we should have enough protection.

I'll be running 3 accounts - so I won't be able to run any kind of protection until we have company in system - when I'll be able to switch ships.

This will be a corp op - so hands on deck if you can make it.

What is best, having the tackle ceptor or a cane fit for pvp? (going to run that as a warp in support)

Dont think I'll be on time for this (late dinner) and not sure what capacity if any I'd be there in, got a stack of stuff to do on my alts some of which are on mangs account (only MAADI housed char I have moved so far).

When/if I do make it, most likely an eagle or a falcon.

=======

Also - is this to be a paid op or a free op?  If the former, then i shant require paying, I'd sooner the corp gets the isk as it needs it.

Don't know the final count but red estimated about 9m units of ore mined.
Should be a start to do something with :)

Seemed there were a lack of crystals for some or the ores in that hidden belt but all in all a decent time.

Post by: Rubino on March 29, 2009, 11:35:31 PM
umm - it was around 1m m3

Specifically:
Glazed Hedbergite  19,120
Concentrated Veldspar391,614
Hemorphite25,782
Fiery Kernite27,028
Pyroxeres 328,583
Rich Plagioclase331,917
Golden Omber161,821
Veldspar   310,370

I'll look at ensuring we have a supply of crystals tomorrow - which should help yield improve a lot.

We have BP's for all the T1 crystals - but like most of the bp's, I aint sure if they are with MAADI or with KASEI.   Probably alot easier to rattle off a few as a build, than you know spend isk on other peoples creations.  (Self sufficiency is important after all)

Heard wrong then :)
In either case quite nice and should make it possible to start the industrial side a bit at least?

I think it could be a good idea to have a fixed day for mining ops in the future as well. If not using the corp "op" time.

Aye - will grab them asap I hope.
6 days until I can compress with my miner :)

Picked up the skillbooks, industrial core and the BPO's for compression this morning for my miner.
Just need to jump them back into Fountain with the POS fuel and we'll be able to compress ore :)

Regarding the 4HS mining op the other day - just need to run the numbers and I'll arrange payout for those involved.
