Title: Going to be a bit busy the comming two months
Post by: peo on May 12, 2010, 04:29:59 PM
Well as the title says :)
I'm going to be slightly busy and unavailable during the weeks the comming two months.
This due to me getting a job which means I have to live with my mother where I won't have any computer to play with hehe

So really good news :) or bad if you think I should slave around eve all the time hehe  :D

First week done :)

Pay is crap, work is mindnumbingly boring and I need to get up at 4:45 in the morning to be there in good time.
But DAMN!!! it is a hell of a lot better than loitering about.

I just hope it is good and might get me something better afterwards.

Well update to this :P
Turns out i've (as most of you know by know) been busy for a lot longer than 2 months :)
And i'm also going to be busy for a lot more longer, I have an extension until the end of the year but as I've taken over a billing coordinator position from a guy who is leaving his temporay position which will last until may.
However I suspect that I'll be offered a permanent position in november so I'll be busy for A LOT longer than anticipated :)

However my gametime will start to increase in december as I've gotten an "apartment" (and i'm using that word loosely) closer to work and will cut my commute to 1.5h from 4-5h per day (one of those hours is gonna be me not going up until 6 in the mornings though  :D)

So there you all know  ;D

Nah not really but I intend to use the computer to play dvds or such a well ;) and I don't like my paper speakers i got from academic work...

Yeah if you are using it as a pc monitor, then pc speakers are the only way to get sound to work unless you fork out on lots of expensive audio equipment.  There are some good 5.1 and even 7.1 pc speaker systems out there though that really do a job.

Only way to get sound from the tv for watching dvds would be to use a seperate dvd player, but lol when you have a pc hooked up to it.

Weird part is it has an audio in for use with pc... (vga or hdmi...) a 3.5mm jack. Just can't get it to work. Just hope it doesn't have to do with "labels" on the inputs as that from what i've read means bad quality and distortion if you use the "pc" label (doesn't do 1:1 scan but something else...) meh wonder what the tech support will say. Hopefully they can give me an answer or I'll fork for some cheapish 5:1 speakers i suppose.

may sound silly but are you booting up comp with it attached to TV so it know to use tv speakers? this happens when my friend links his lappy for dvd he has to restart.

how are you connecting to tv? usb? hdmi? or AV?

Hmm...
Could be I suppose... but since I get audio out on the same port to crappy speakers it seems weird...
Ah well will fiddle with it some day,
