Title: Offline mod as heatsink -OR- explain overheating to me plz
Post by: Warcold on January 20, 2010, 11:59:53 AM
While browsing for fits I ran into someone suggesting to use an offline mod as a heatsink.
This sounded like a brilliant suggestion, however... I have to admit I dont really know how overheating works in regards to heatdamage and stuff.
Could someone shed some light on this?

Hmm, found post where the offline mod myth is

Quote
# Overloaded module has a chance to do damage to each module in the rack at the end of the cycle

# The chance of a module taking damage from an overloaded module is reduced by the distance from the module

# The chance of a module taking damage is also reduced by the number of empty/offline modules

Though it says empty modules, the way I understand it empty slots work just as good as offline mods.
