If im annoying anyone in the alliance its not on purpose.
Luckily im griping on small stuff (killboard etc) and nothing huge.
But I do care what the alliance does and where it goes, its just I'll care more in a few months when im back!

Havent noticed you annoy anyone :)
This early in the alliances life, i do think that theres going to be alot of conflicting views/foot-in-mouth moments and so on, at every level really, good that they happen now I suppose rather than down the line when we are actually mid-achievement :)

I small suggestion.
I am comletely unfamiliar with the way Alliance politics works but it seems to me that in the Alliance forums we should speak with one voice. We debate amongst ourselves here but when the "opinion" of the alliance is requested (eg. in the poll on the alliance forums) would it not carry more weight if we sorted our differences out first then bloc vote? Maybe I'm just an old cynic but an appeal to the masses (bypassing any corporate body in between) is a classic way to divide and conquer. So what does Ma'adi want to do next WH or 0.0? Personally I'm divided and don't really mind either way.
-
I understand what you mean.
Currently I don't think it matters that much. Also the vote there should be seen as a guide for the leadership rather than a decissionmaking thing (at least thats how I see it).
In general tell us here what you want and we will try to get the alliance to do it as well ;)
-
Personally regards MAADI, Im good with what you guys really want to do - mainly cos im off on vacation soon :)
Going forward, im firmly in the SOV camp for the alliance, but as you have peo have suggested elsewhere look at T3 as an internal thing from occasional wormhole jaunts?

For me it isnt a serious choice really, as the one doesnt exclude the other.
In my mind, 0.0 won't happen in the next few months, so that's why I voted WH -> some attn will go that way and give us some XP there. If we focus on 0.0 too much now, there is the danger we will jump in too soon again.
But the more I think of it, the sillier the choice becomes.
But back to your point Jer: Good point in itself, but it might slow down decisionmaking even more, as MAADI hasnt been know to be the fastest in coming to consensus. Also, it might frustrate the alliance, as it might become us against them.
*gah* here I go again with my nay-saying... shoot me plz!

The more I think of Wh's the more I think it should be a corp matter - its pure isk generation on that level if done right after all, its not anything that really can provide isk other than fee's at an alliance level.
So yeah maybe wormholes should be a corp sideline that as we(meaning BC here) move further into 0.0 etc grows into something that eventually does need alliance aid (more dangerous npcs etc), but in the meantime its there for isk generation alone?
Im rambling a bit though.
I do think that as a corp, we should just stick to doing what we do - a bit of everything it seems - and fit ourselves into the alliance as and how we can/do, it seems to work. Theres only a few of us and we seem to get by well enough doing just that. Obviously as more alliance stuff happens we'll find more things it turns out we are the "pro's from Dover" on thanks to not being the most single minded group out there :)
As a corp 0.0 is what weve done in the past and what we would do again, but at the same time, its padded along side long term afk, the odd wormhole, exploration, missions, cap ship building for a while etc etc We know that when push comes to shove we can man up with the best of them, it just does take us time to do this - given our small size and other projects its not surprising :)

A totally random note: Gaming ADHD some of us suffer from doesn't help in keeping focus at things either.
As for the alliance things, the CEO and directors have my full support to do the decissions needed, and as a corp- (and alliance-) member I would follow those decissions and stand behind them. However, if a general opinion is asked for, then I would prefer there to be some discussion instead of no discussion but firm set-in-stone decissions. I think, just as Jere, that it is good to have firm standings and views at times, but sometimes it is good to discuss things first a bit (especially when there is no rush) in a very open manner.

I agree it shouldn't happen in the next few months.
They aren't exclusionary. I'm just rather hesitant about wormhole ops on the alliance level.
-
ok, I can agree on that for sure (although with the past participation i wonder if it wouldnt just work on an alliance level anyhow)
given the (only) goal being 0.0 the alliance should find a way to keep the crowd excited over something that will not happen in months though.

maybe it comes down to practical reality : if corps could park a TCU would we do it? today I'm guessing not. The cost / benefit equation probably only works with an Alliance (rental fees, defence costs etc. cost). Another question : we can as a corp setup in WH space: would we want to? maybe yes. Bottom lie the only decision for an Alliance is whether to claim 0.0 space or not, since thats the reason to have an Alliance instead of corps setting each other to blue.
Like I say I'm happy either way but I agree its probably not time for 0.0 just yet. I also think it a good idea to get as many people as possible to "go see the elephant" in 0.0 and get used to it - maybe some stealth bomber roaming?
