General Gaming / Origin: how evil is it really?
« on: August 15, 2013, 06:46:34 AM »
Regarding the current humble bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/?originbundle

Does anyone actually have Origin installed? Any big negatives?
EA, evil, silly bans for criticizing the company in forums, etc. But how bad is it really if that?

On EA's behalf, giving all the money to charity is of course nice, but it's pretty much an attempt to boost their PR and expand their Origin userbase amirite?

Next question, what would you call this in the UK? As specific as possible.

So had it been a pen... is it a ballpoint pen, fountain pen, marker or rollerball.

Many thanks in advance!

Yes! Schematics! I love you!

Now to try and find these things with all the names of the different parts included.
It seems schematics and technical drawings get the results I need, but often they include part numbers instead of names.

The library has books that contain a few of these images in each. Going to do some searches on Amazon based on authors and titles. And otherwise Im just going to google a load of products+schematics and see if I can somehow get the actual part names as well.

I'm looking for books that contain images of often technical things. Vehicles, factories, bikes, engines, etc.
The image of the thing in question is often an illustration and is blown out or cut in half so all parts are visible on way or another.
Then the image has the names of all the parts around it with lines leading from the names to the actual parts in the illustration.

What are these damn things called.

I picked this up on sale. I tried following the tutorial and was wondering why my rocket wouldn't do anything. Now I'm following a beginner's guide and realize that a) zomg you need lots of fuel and b) you need to press space.

Edit
Death toll: quickly stopped counting. We shall forever remember Bob who went on an eternal spacewalk after I forgot to add a parachute to the rocket and only discovered that error when I was in orbit.

Yeah they go into a special part of your inventory don't they? Been a while since I logged in. I liked Neverwinter. I liked the active playing style over standing there and clicking buttons. But I don't enjoy doing the same content twice or more all that much.

Is the PS2 launcher buggy for anyone else? I'm constantly having problems with it being stuck on 'Installing' before the login button shows up. If any sort of button shows up at all.

So we're all super awesome at jumping on bandwagons, busy with kids, work, being professional hobos, etc.

Let's make a list of games we know are being played by either us, Farstar, RvB... whoever on a weekly basis. That way, if we want to play together, we at least know when something is happening anyway.

Maybe it's only EVE and PS2, but at least we'll know.

Seems better now. My queue thingy froze up. After a restart I could enter the character creation thing right away.

So it's Defiant on Blightweald?
Different server for Guardian?

Guardian - Thunderloins - Dwarf

Defiant - Speciaal - Bahmi

What server are you guys on?

This thread would suggest Blightweald: http://handsofjustice.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2125.msg20692#msg20692

And apparently I skipped the whole Rift thing during a non gaming phase.

400 in queue. Wewt.

Picked it up for a tenner but had a CTD earlier. Hoping the little steam fix that forces it to use 1 processor works. Any tips on good guides for SC4? So far I've understood that taking it slow helps, managing the budget tightly.

Threadomancy.

Dodgy mail from China. Anthrax? Nay!

I was expecting some embossing for the serial number, but it's flat as a walrus penis. Name blanked out for interwebs reasons.
