Stargate resistance
« on: April 30, 2010, 08:02:20 AM »
With the MMO Stargate Worlds been folded, the team releases Stargate Resistance, a FPS game in the Stargate universe. The developers claim they still hope to eventually release an MMO of Stargate too, but now they will release the work they've done as a shooter.

Anyway, there was a test of the game last weekend which I missed. There is another test this weekend, and I intend to try the game out. If you are interested, head to http://www.stargateresistance.com/JoinTheResistance/index.html and create an account and download the client.

Read about the mmo they planned. Sounded ehm... not very good to be honest.
Might be better as a shooter.

Btw, what time is "Saturday at 12:01 am (pacific time), May 1st, through Monday at 12:01 am (pacific time), May 3" in one of the more sensible time-zones (like EET, CET or BST)?

my reckoning is

8am saturday until 8am Monday rough guess :)  (BST btw)
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

Ok, thanks :) So tomorrow I might be able to try this game out before lunch :)

It seems to be a "battleground" type shooter, so something like the scenarios or PvP-lakes in WAR. Basically, a part of the scrapped MMO (no experience, no quests, but the combat system and animations etc that were already completed); not the most stupidest idea to try to salvage something from a failed project (depends of course on how much the game will suck :D ).

Played a couple matches, came to same conclusion. If there wasn't that Jaffa character available, I'd never have guessed it has something to do with Stargate, it is *that* generic shooter...

Sounds like it really is awful.

Give me Planetside anyday when it comes to shooters.
