Not in any specific order, but heres mine:

Heat Best cops v robbers type movie I have ever seen. Great shoot out scene that totally works too

Fifth Element Underated, very underated. Even for a Bruce Willis vehicle.

Apocalypse Now Redux "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

Pulp Fiction Its the soundtrack for me that does it.

Lost in Translation Ever been jetlagged and had insomnia at once? Brilliant movie for Murray, and of course Scarlett Johansson

Empire Records Surprised to have seen it in someone elses list. But this is a really good flick, with a good young cast.

Zulu Love old movies like this, from the heyday of British film making. About a unit of troops that overcame massive odds and survived.

Once Upon a Time in the West Most amazing western ever. Scenery is stunning and the film itself is very powerful.

Blade Runner Love the Final Cut version of this, a brilliant film noir using the Dick novella as a backdrop.

I gave a list of 10 movies above, but there are many more I could have mentioned. Sergio Leone, Akira Kurosawa, Coen brothers and Luc Besson are a marvelous directors, any of their movies are great. Quentin Tarrantino I used to love, but Kill Bill started IMO see his touch slip. Any movie with Gary Oldman, Harvey Keitel, Jean Reno, Kevin Spacey or Morgan Freeman (though he has sometimes disappointed me in a huge way; while his acting is always superior, some of the movies he can be seen in have nearly made me puke) most likely will glue me to the chair. Any movie with music by Ennio Morricone must be great.

That said, I personally like a lot the lists of Beosvir and Malt. You fellows have a good taste

If it really has to be my favourite movie of all time, I think I will go with possibly the best adaption of a short story to film ever, Rudyard Kipling's The Man Who Would Be King. I would not classify it as the best movie I have ever seen, but it is one I always watch happily when it runs on a channel near me. Sean Connery and Michael Caine having the time of their lives playing their blessed hearts out in a good old fashioned yarn from the heyday of the British Empire - what could one possibly desire more? The best buddy movie bar none.

I haven't thought of that movie in years. In hindsight, I think if my parents had realised what it was like they wouldn't have let me watch it.

I grabbed the director's cut of this just recently. I, erm, don't think it really added anything.

I'll add Final Fantasy: Advent Children to the mix, because I like anime, I loved the game, and this is one of the few movies derived from a game I thought was good and really rewarded people who loved the game. And the scene where they all come together to fight the Bahamut summoning is awesome.

1.) Blade Runner - The film that got me into cinema and film making. It will forever be my number one.

2.) Sonatine - My favorite Kitano Cop drama. Perhaps not technically the best of the lot I just can't get enough of the charmingly surreal beach scenes.

3.) Fallen Angels - Wong Kar Wai pick here, a toss up between this and Chunking Express. 2046 gets a mention but it pales in comparison to these two. Amazingly atmospheric.

4.) For A few dollars more - Leone pick and easily my favorite though I of course love the others. I believe this best epitomized his heavily stylized stoic and brutish characters. Van Cleef and Eastwood working incredibly well together.

5.) Dazed and confused - the quintessential high school/coming of age film from another of my favorite directors Richard Linklater. "That's What I Love About These High School Girls, Man. I Keep Getting Older, They Stay the Same Age."
