I'm pretty happy with the size being right about now. We have a big bloom of low-mid teens and a few front-runners nearing 30. By the time we catch up with the forum registrations and their mates, we'll be up to 100 characters, and maybe 60 players - this seems like a resonable place to take a break.

We can then start focusing on events and improving our character base.

My unstatistically accurate feeling is that we are short of:

Pansy Elves:
 White Lions
 Swordmasters
 Archmages

Awesome Dwarves:
 Runepriests

In my perception, this unfortunately means we are "healer low" as the WP mechanic doesn't make it a pure healer class (though there are some damn good WP healers out there).

I currently tithe 10%, I'm happy to continue doing that - it's not even like you really need money for much other than the gyrocopter and new renown gear  - and cash is easy to get hold of in T3 (you get 1G for the quests, + 2-3G per scenario if you take part) -- not to mention that Rune Etched Axe + Power Engravings >> your uber T3 armour in Tor Anroc.

Warhammer Online / Re: T3 Scenario XP?
« on: October 01, 2008, 09:05:02 AM »
The bad news:

Levelling rate doesn't pick up - yes you get more XP, but the levels are further apart and the scenarios don't pop as often (though of course it's all about being on the edge of the wave of players at that level). Tor Anroc is an XP fest, but some of the others aren't. And of course now we can queue from anywhere (a good thing) - we don't automatically get to run to the quest givers after each round (not such a good thing) and miss out on the 4K XP for the repeatables.

The good news:

T3 is incredible fun - players are learning their classes better and are much more challenging; and even PUGs start using strategy. The guild's also got a few people who run together on a regular basis and are learning each other's playstyle ... (or lack of in my case)

Warhammer Online / What size is big enough? Let's have a heated debate ...
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:23:26 PM »
Currently we have 78 guild members - of which approx 50 are above 10, 40 above 15. Don't know how many of those are alts - certainly I have 2 guilded alts  (Jacq/Underworld).

The question came up in guild chat -- are we going to slow down/pause the invitation process and allow people to get to know each other and focus on building strength as well as size?

I have repeated that question here to start the debate ...

a) they do seem to give slightly better XP - the in scenario kills are worth more as the players are a higher level and thus more valuable.
b) it does depend if you win/lose though - as with all scenarios
c) Tor Anroc does have quest givers - at the Elf warcamp.

You're welcome, FWIW I was 22 and using the guild +5% toughness standard.
The guy took a good 10 minutes to kill, and has an irritating line in knockbacks. Fight him on the ledge with your back to the wall.

The goblin warcamp? It's just before you get to Kron Komar from the goblin side. After the Chap2 PQ where you have to protect the gobbo's as they build the catapults.

Sounds like a good idea to me!
The guild bank is quite difficult ... don't know what the auction mechanism is like though tbh. Does it expire after a period?

Logged in, created a sorceror - now at R5. No significant problem with queues etc ...
But wow, is it hard to get a RVR slot in gates of ekrund. Must have run around for 2 hours and got it to pop once.

not impressed with that .... but I'm ready at the warcamp for when we need to bring the guild online ...

Yes, that was hugely fun - you get more reknown and XP in scenarios as a tank - but wow, that's a laugh and a half ;-)
Next time though, think when the main keep is under assault perhas we should look to recapture one of the objectives?
