WE NEED T-SHIRTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think learning how to deal with, manage and lead people is one of the most difficult and most important skills to have. So in that respect, hardcore guild management can be quite the asset. But I fear that most of them won't apply those skills in the real world and stay stuck in the digital world because life is easier there.

That Finnish chick will most likely strangle you with a toothpick if you grab her epics. And crazy Russians are crazy.

Are these people all on benefits or something?

I don't think they're freaks!
They certainly need to reprioritize their lives. Most of 'em seemed to be very nice persons. That paladin need to come out of the closet though. If he's that ashamed of playing WoW he should quit.
And honestly I can't figure out how they can afford to play all day and all night. The Russians I can understand but not the Europeans and Americans. I wonder why there are no Swedish guilds up there. We've got all these socialist thingies that allows you to survive without a job for years. You might not be wealthy but you get by.
Eric (leader of Blood Legion) seems to have his head and heart in the right place. The girl in the same guild comes off as a whacko, wanting to break the persons who for whatever reason can't put in the same amount of time as her.

I was in a hardcore raiding guild in WoW, to the point of where my hunter was in the top 3 on the server. And to be honest, at that point I hardly played the game apart from raiding 2 or 3 times a week or just rolling up to goldshire with a mate and annoying all the ally low levels for an hour or 2. I know we werent going for world firsts or anything like that, but we were still a top, top guild on the server. I just dont understand the mentality of having to spend all of your time on WoW or theory crafting or thinking about WoW or theorycrafting. I never did any of that. It's only a game, and not something you can put on your CV when you apply for a job  ;)

There have been people that got hired in management positions on their ability to lead succesful raids in WoW. I truly believe it is a great skill.

If i was offered a job at a company that gave people jobs based on how they nerd rage just that little less than 24 other people, I think i'd give it a miss.

Basically RL/FC type skills translate into people managing related skills, like expectation & time mangament, conflict resolution and so on.

The nerd rage is just a symptom of how much people invest/identify with their characters/roles etc.

You see plenty of nerd rage in the work place, its just in an environment where it is the norm so when you have it in a "game" it seems less normal.

It's the Swedish way of not getting anything done unless it is first discussed in a committee. For a few years, if possible. I am not claiming it is not producing *very* good results in the long run (because often it is), but when things need to be get done *now and here*, then it is a problem. Notice that I have lived in Sweden for ~15 years, so I have some first hand experience in this "diskutera, diskutera, diskutera" -culture  ;)

Getting a decission from a Swedish person is like watching paint dry: It is bound to happen sometime if you just have the patience of a stone, but afterwards you won't be able to tell when exactly it happened.
