EU III

Is it worth me snagging off Steam?

I like the look of it, the depth it suggests attacts me...  but is there anything horrid I should know?

Leveling will be quite slow i'm afraid...

Oh, EU III, didn't notice this thread :)  There are some of us here who are from the Paradox forums you know :)

Yes, it is definitively worth it, if you like proper strategy games!

Anything horrid...? Be sure your gfx card can handle the game. It doesn't run on steam-powered lap-tops, unlike some people seem to hope/believe. Other than that, I can only give my thumbs up (but then again I am biased :P).

Also available from Gamersgate (Paradox own web-shop) at http://gamersgate.com/index.php?page=product&what=view&sku=DD-EU3COM

One thing to note with EU III from steam is that the tutorials dont work. So if you havent played them before and have no idea how the interface works then you may want to think again.
The main game itself is fine.

"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

We need to set-up a MP game at some point. Altough I've heard Steam EU3 has some issues if trying to MP with non-Steam EU3, dunno if that is true or just an urban legend though. Personally I have the boxed version, of course :)

I'd be up for that - just give me a week or so to get a handle on the game so I dont embarass myself horribly.
