Have ordered this online from Game - had £10 worth of points to redeem against it - only cost me £14.99!
Yay for me!  ;D

Fingers crossed it will arrive tomorrow.

You'll lose days once it does arrive, its that good :)

Graphically its jaw dropping on a par with certain parts of Lotro for me (with DX10 ofc), plot is great, Biowares IP is brilliant if a little done to death in fantasy.

Just wish there was an auto loot!

I'm looking forward to it - not sure if I will get chance to play it until the weekend (damn work keeping me busy!) - Bioware are another Company like Blizzard IMO, they don't make many games but what they do do are always very good.

Possible they could be played as a "tank" type in addition to DPS and fancy magic tricks stuff?

I'm guessing along the lines of WoWs DK class.

What happened to Ashaar anyhoos. I got him a fluffy Click to travel the world with and the drug dealers in South America stole it. I sent him another one and then I never heard from him again. /sad

He still hangs around on the Sync forums - http://synchronicity-guild.net/forums/index.php

www.archive.org is pretty cool..... it does books too (and loads of other things)! Try going to http://www.archive.org/index.php (without the web bit) and do a search on a book, its pretty good. Between that and Google Books you can search on almost any book and get it to display the PDF for it.

Just got one of these - wish I had bought one of these sooner now.
Spent the last few years avoiding them as "everyone" else had one and I didn't want to follow the crowd. Went in to the local Car Phone Warehouse the other day and they traded my old phone for a fancy new 32GB 3GS - it rocks!

So, any must have Apps I should be getting?
Download, (amongst others!) Sky + App, Flight Control, Sheep Launcher!
Tempted by Sim City, anyone got it? Is it any good?

Anyway, as per usual, the BBC are late in getting their info, Elite was 25 years old yesterday ;)

Looking forward to this. First one was excellant. Infact my favourite ever bit of computer gaming was in the first one. In the Dentists surgery you had to collect and item, the lights went out (IIRC) you turned around and the lights came back on, and there was a ghoul (or whatever they are called) stood right in front of you! I shat me right up, but excellant all the same.

Proving it doesn't ever mention Second Life then it might be worth a look. I really don't understand the media how every program that is made about the Online Gaming Industry they have to concentrate on Second Life. I'm all for escapism, fantasy, space sims etc. But having an online persona where you are actually believe you are somebody else does not appeal to me.

it seems like DOTA, just actually better.

Seems that they acknowledge that

Quote
   1.   At S2, we're huge fans of DOTA, and were pained to see how it was being held back on the warcraft 3 engine. DOTA style gameplay deserves a stand alone game so competition can be taken to the next level. As a MOD, DOTA faces many obstacles and boundaries that a stand alone title like Heroes of Newerth does not.
   2. We also felt that the experience of playing and finding DOTA games online could use some drastic improvement. With HoN, there are many features and tools to make playing online (both with friends and by yourself) a much easier and more enjoyable experience. Your position as testers will help us perfect and fine tune these features, as well as allow us to see how they perform under various conditions.

Anyone heard anything about this? Gamesradar are giving away Closed Beta Access keys for those that want to give it a try

http://www.gamesradar.com/f/heroes-of-newerth-closed-beta-key-giveaway/a-20090902155545211015

At the time of writing this there seem to be a few left - I've just got one.

http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/

Not tried it yet, but it seems to be a Diablo/Warcraft (the original not the MMO!) clone - which isn't a bad thing!

Cover system is interesting in a MMO, especially with the little green 3-d Cardboard cutouts it showed as placements for the cover spots(this kinda seems out of place, good for a tutorial or something, but in the actual real playing world seems odd).

I agree, I hope they change that, or you have an option to turn it off at least. Good concept though.

I came when the sith warrior Dual-wielded sabers at the end :P

Dirty monkey!!!  ;D

Heh! This must have been the worst kept secret on the internet over the last 2 weeks! (That and the announcement of the PS3 Slim!)
It does all look very cool, fancy creating a Goblin Druid! Not sure if the mix of Class/Race combinations is a good idea though.

I suspect this will be put out at a similar time to SWTOR (Holiday season 2010)
