Uniting Order
« on: October 23, 2008, 08:30:49 AM »
This is very much a "nice on paper, probably fail entirely in practice",  but thought I'd see what people thought..

Now that we're beginning some kind of "scheduled" keep-raid in T2/T3,     I was thinking about how many raids you'd need to do to keep the entire 3 empires locked down.

In my opinion, with the new keep changes (made it a lot more difficult right?), then potentially then Keeps are only going to be switching hands maybe 1-3 times a week?

So here's the mad suggestion..

What if HoJ (ie Beo) was to approach the other guild leaders (or alliance leaders) and suggest some kind of UNITED schedule for raiding keeps..

If HoJ were assaulting a Keep with 2 WB's every week,  with other guilds/alliance doing the same on the other days..

Then potentially,  we've got an amazing war effort going on..

I'm sure someone in the future will propose something similar,    so I thought HoJ might want to lead the way!

Ta,

Love it.

Love it.

Love it.

Think my point is made. Certainly something to look at, a "coalition of the willing" if you will :)

As to the Keep changes - what have I missed? (I know t4 fortress NPCs got buffed)

Locking a zone down would be easy to do with well defended attack groups, well defended keeps once taken - ie keep the order zerg from moving on, have keeps garrisoned.

The only issue would be Destro logging in when we are asleep and retaking it all as part of an alarm clock job! :S  As T2&T3 dont lock down in the same way T4 does, the keeps in T2/T3 can be pretty much taken whenever you can get a group together.  But such concerted actions at these levels can really aid in control of T4, more so as Order gets more to that level bracket too.

coalition of the willing

Did you really have to go there? Really?

WAR as political allegory is surely a slippery slippery slope :D

Silly question, perhaps, since I'm not up to date on this stuff, but how would going deliberately after the keeps lock down zones completely if the opposition chose the counter strategy of doing mass PQs? Or is the intention of this strategy solely to control keeps, not zones?

As far as I believe,   you get Victory-points from the following (in order of highest to lowest)

1)  Open RVR (Capturing Keep/Towers,  Holding Keep/Towers)
2)  Scenario Wins
3)  PQ's completed

So I would suggest we focus on the Keep/Towers and while we won't ever be able to influence how many Scenarios we win or how many PQ's are completed,  we're pretty much doing as much as we can!

In the end,    it doesn't really matter if we DONT control the zone,     we just need to do enough so that Destruction cant :)

Keeping this at the top.

A Crusade its what this sounds like, and given my flair for the dramatic thats what we can push it as on the rest of the server community.

Given that the alliance seems all better again, I can start looking at this properly when I unveil the alliance forum shortly.
