We will get on their "list" and they will be back.

150m will actually still give them a loss. so not too bad.

Also we payed a few times when we were in LESY and never got another dec from the same corp.

Also we now know how war works so we shouldnt be caught with our pants down like this time

Personaly (and becouse i am very very lazy considering assets in eve) i reccomend having several stashes. If you ever get personal trouble or issues with someone you dont want them to track down your station where you have your stash.

It Would be a good idea to have a JC at your most important stashes. (my stashes are usualy at stations where i run missions from, so i can usualy refit a ship pretty cheap becouse i usually have all the fitting i need (though not the exact fitting i would probably want) in my stash)

Also if you can get out of the station where your stuff is now, with a jump clone. An idea might be to set up a contract to have your stuff moved (be sure to not make it your most important stuff and get a good deposit on it, the enemy might opt to take the contract and than not fullfil it) But usualy there are people with indies who for a few 100k isk will move your stuff a few jumps.

EVE Online / Manticore PvP (no use in a PvE Manticore)
« on: February 18, 2009, 10:13:19 AM »
apparently i cant view the setup here at work (couse flash is not installed)

but this is my setup battleclinic link
fitted everything t2.
atm i have swapped a disruptor in favour of a salvager. Tried to fit 2 disruptors but i guess i need a bit more advanced weapons upgrade.

anyway
high slots:
3 x T2 Cruise Missile Launchers
1 x Salvager
1x Cloak (not sure what kind of cloak, but thought a T2)

med slots:
2x T2 Sensor Booster (wtih scripts)
1x T2 Remote Sensor Dampener (can fit 2 when i remove my salvager, also with scripts (for range)

low slots:
1x T2 Overdrive Injector System
1x T2 Ballistic control

Ammo:
Caldari Navy Wrath Cruise Missile (only take 200-300, you want your cargo to be empty to take look or salvage, took the kinetic version becouse of the extra dammage the missile does with cov op skill bonus on the manticore)
Wrath Cruise Missile (also 200-300 to shoot at rats in case i get bored or something, the faction are pvp only)

Tips for flying SB (both general and specific)
- Try to stay cloak at all times (you'll fly faster if skilled enough)
- Never ever warp in on 0, not on friends not on foes. Only exceptions are when you are about to dock or jump
- When comming out of a gate, move your ship and cloak (just put the speed on anything and press your cloak button) Align to your destination, when you have speed, decloak and warp
- When gooing to engage a target get everything on and flashing (when decloaked that should be all, in a good a,bush you will be decloaked around 200km from your opponent get everthing on, warp in, shoot missiles, wait for missiles to hit, warp out and cloak. (pretty much the standard hit and run tactic)
- If you know where you are gooing to fight make save spots in the systems and bookmarks on the belts or other objects you want to patrol. Make sure your enemies dont know at what vector you will be warping in on an object and on what distance.
- If you visit a sys regularly make bookmarks there. so you dont have to warp in using the standard warp to. Organise your bookmarks so you can read out what they mean when you see them (for example II 3 + 200km for planet 2 belt 3 + 200km above horizon)
- Never go toe to toe with anything. Your flying tin foil with cruise missile launchers
- When an enemy get a lock on a friend (flying a SB, or anything else that will probably not tank the thing that is firering at it) that friend's ship is gone. A rescue attempt will probably result in 2 dead SB's instead of 1

if anyone is interested in flying a SB or learning more about it, contact me. But with these basic rules you should be able to enjoy flying your SB a bit longer

Was wondering if it might not be a good idea to have a general/open chat for recruiting purposes. Without giving people acces to the pasworded channel.

EVE Online / Docked during war
« on: February 18, 2009, 09:44:18 AM »
I noticed a lot of people were docked in the stationat M14.

i have oen question.. WHY? you know its war, you know they know what sys we're at so it was to be expected they would camp the station.

I do have a few tips (perhaps for the fututre but hope you can manage it this war)

1. get a stash in another station. A non corp station. Just put some essentials there (so a JC, a few ships and ammo)
Make sure this station is close to our home station and HQ but preferably not in the same system

2. Dont all haul up in the same other station. Spread out. You dont want them to be able to shut us completely down by camping 1 station.

3. if you want to log but all gates are camped. warp from 1 save spot to antoher save spot and log out in warp. When you log in again you will start in warp and will end up in the save spot you were warping too.

Also it was to be expected they would ask a ransom. 150mil isnt much, and if we cant undock i reccomend we pay. If we can undock i say fight. We are winning this war.
High sec wars are pretty simple just kill more of them than they kill of you in isk. We were dooing that. The 1st day of the war was GOOD. That is how we should fight.

I hope people can relocate soon so we can kick their asses again.

And as final not, NO SMACK IN LOCAL IS HARD.

So they are asking for a ransom? HAHA!  That figure seems to cover their loss more than anything. Fuck them.

150M is not enough for us to accept peace with them :=)

Just wait 2 days, then make the war mutual, and keep harassing them with cheap frigates.

that would imply no more mining and no more missionrunning. thus no income for the corp. I thought we also needet to provide a pos with fuel so that might be hard also.

remembered another golden rule for low sec. saved my ass ratting low sec multiple times

- Always stay aligned to an object (preferably with a bookmarked location so you cant be followed too easy.  If you are solo and someone enters the belt you are ratting presume he is hostile. if you think you can handle him (and he probably checked you before you have seen him) warp out
- Always check local in low sec. if something is happening people will probably talk about it. At least you can see who enters the system. People with low sec rating usually  are pirates. A group of people from the same corp usually a gang looking to do some pew pew. so get to your savespot

also map = folder and yes i'm Dutch :D

well if you dislike grinding you can either go for:
1 mining/manufacturing (works best with 2 accounts though)
2 exploration (need combat skills for that too though)
3 piracy.. Nothing like a bit YARing and PEW PEW to get your isk
4 trader. Get a big transport and fly stuff from a to b (sit on a region border to get more price info)
5 mission runner (ok pure grinding)
6 low sec ratter (much like missionrunner only higher suspense and risks (pirates gooing pew pew on you) also better rewards)

there is probably more if you look for it :D but these are valid professions you could go for instead of just pure grinding.

also a few basic things you need to know when dooin pvp.

- Use faction ammo to shoot your enemy, hurts more. best is to use faction ammo just for that. When dooing missions use regular ammo
- When (not if :) your ship is about to be destroyed, select an object (planet or station preferably) in your system overview, and spam the warp to button. A pod will almost insta warp. You might have lost your ship, would be a waste to loose your implants also
- Rename your ship. So the enemy doesn't know what pilot is flying what ship. Give him as little info as possible
- If you visit a system often try to get save spots. The best save spots are 5 au away from any solar object (max scan range of a probe is 4). Beware though. the guy probing you might also have a save spot there and actually find you. If you have a cloak fitted you can just hide in a save spot within 4au of solar objects. It is best though not to use belts or planets to hide and cloak. The guy following you might decloak you if he warps in at the same distance.
- If you are scanning belts for enemies. You might want to use bookmarks to the belts (preferably 150+km away from the belt itself, takes time to make these bookmarks but they'll save your ass) Warp to these spots when scanning a belts instead of the belt itself.
- organise your bookmarks. Personally i make a map with the system i am in and put all bookmarks i make in that system in the one map. keeps it more organized.

will add more things when the come to mind. And if anyone thinks i missed some, please post them i might just not know them

I wonder if we will break it again after the retailbox is released.

also noticed you can "buy" eve on steam. a ripoff if you ask me since you can also get a free trial if you join via the eve website itself.

@myself try to stay on topic
