That said I would call it the first game to give WoW a run for its money that's competing against it so directly. It isn't without its problems, I certainly agree, both in technical terms and in game design terms, but it's in the right league.

I say this from the perspective of only having played WoW and Warhammer, of course. ::)

My first thought on seeing the two Rhinos was that the second one is engaging a cloaking device.

I only found that one out myself a few months ago. I've seen it rarely and my brain has always come back with something like "I Didn't ... er, Do it?"

HD thrashing usually means you need a defrag.

I'm running on a clean install of Windows XP. Which doesn't mean it doesn't need a defrag, actually, I seem to vaguely recall my techie brother once laughingly telling me Windows installs itself fragmented. But I only have 1Gb of RAM at the moment, so that'll be my biggest problem. Two more 1Gb sticks on their way in the mail, so fingers crossed...

The BuffThrottle mod that Torgal recommended made a significant difference, making Nordenwatch roughly playable for me, but it still took me 15 minutes to get from the Altdorf flight master to the bank the other night, so I really need that RAM.

Thanks. I'm astonished that hasn't happened to me. It took me fifteen minutes to get from the Altdorf flight master to the bank, but the game didn't crash. Might be different in RvR though.

- Angel Heart (with Mickey Rourke before he got pumped up)

I haven't thought of that movie in years. In hindsight, I think if my parents had realised what it was like they wouldn't have let me watch it.

- Dark City

I grabbed the director's cut of this just recently. I, erm, don't think it really added anything.

I'll add Final Fantasy: Advent Children to the mix, because I like anime, I loved the game, and this is one of the few movies derived from a game I thought was good and really rewarded people who loved the game. And the scene where they all come together to fight the Bahamut summoning is awesome.

Number 3 has so far lasted 6 weeks and counting so im hopefully it will make it to xmas at least.

I guess that depends on when the Tomb Raider movies are next on TV.

10. RAM

2gb is a must; Task Manager shows 1.3gb total usage when WAR is running, hence the pagefile will be used which will cause HD thrashing and some slow-down.

Ah. This is probably my biggest problem. My HD is indeed being thrashed with tremendous force.

Why play a hunter if you can't properly use your Gorilla?

This question should be a Zen meditation aid, like "What's the sound of one hand clapping?" and "If a tree falls in the forest etc"

If we're counting NWN, then I suppose I started with that, though the Australian internet what in a sufficiently primitive state back then that I only ever played it at LAN parties. And even then that was if you could get the right crowd, because mostly what people played in LAN parties back then was Half Life.

I started playing World of Warcraft one week after EU release and only waited that long because we were switching ISPs. I began with an undead mage but when my guild disbanded six months later I created a night elf druid and joined Beosvir's guild, and I've stayed with the guilds that grew out of it ever since.

I tried City of Villains and played it for all of two sessions. It just didn't measure up.

Though it's mainly the Warhammer 40K universe I like, I always planned to try Warhammer Online when it came out. Having run out of things to do in WoW, and what with Warhammer Online being out, I figured now was the time.

So far I like it a lot, though I'm aware I'm not participating much in the main point of it (the RvR stuff) and I suspect it will get better. Unfortunately my 4 year old PC is really struggling to run it.

I have a warrior priest, which is probably a good class to play in scenarios when your PC can render more than one frame per three seconds in a fight. I've also created a Chaos Marauder and I have to tell you, the first time I clicked on the button and mutated my arm, my mouth fell open in wonder.
