Mythic = Dark Age of Camelot devs. Now property of EA.
GOA = French shower of crap who ran the EU DAOC servers - late on updates, little helpful support, account billing errors out the ass. EA-Mythic went with them again for this game as EU Provider and well its not the best decision they could of made to be totally honest to show us in the EU that they want our custom.

well just seen a post by a CM over at WHA basically saying the account center will be up tomorrow at the latest before the servers go up vague is an understatment they must know by now when its going up.

run the patcher now still no account page but things are moving.

Done that earlier, had it connect to EA-Mythic originally. At least now it points the right way.

i wish my closed beta client would update luckily i already downloaded the open beta client.

A minor patch will be available before the servers are brought online early afternoon tomorrow. The suspense will soon be over; WAR is dawning and we all have a very exciting time ahead of us.

If they mean GMT then thats 9.30, but then why not just say that as (i chcked) eire is on BST and not GMT.
Tis annoying regardless. Probably just our continental cousins thinking how they tell the time is relevant somehow :D

Starting 8.30 tomorrow their website will get hammered. Better off not mentioning any time, so at least people will "trickle" to their website instead of utterly flooding it.
Hell if I was them I'd resort to plain HTML in 3 lines until tomorrow is over:

reading the post it says closed beta testers dont need to create an account because they get into open beta anyway which makes me think there will only be the option to enter OB codes and the HS and retail will be added to the center later

just read the thread on WHA lol im still confused anyway i think i read on there that as a CB tester my beta account will be my master account.

On the subject of your CB account you are right - you have NO need to make a new one. me who has no CB access needs to make a fresh one.
As for time, Magnus basically come out and said as all the EU pretty much are on summer DST programs then there is NO need for him to clarify any difference (But he will in future he says). Therefore to me it seems like 8.30 our current time in the UK/Eire is the time it all starts :)

The client will run the patch. The Create account button in the client login popup leads you to the website. Website not showing any signs of registering options yet.

It got me started on the registration stuff - uses the same reg box it did when it was just a reg for the website.
However it doesnt generate a captcha image and just errors out there at the moment.

I do wonder why GOA didnt have the same timeframe and organisation of Mythic (Well I know why: SHOWER OF SHIT) as surely EA being the money grubbing whores they are should have ensured that to get people wanting to sub a large portion of the potential subs shouldnt be treated this way.
Who seriously launches a system that hasnt been stress tested (and is built in bloody flash ffs) on the day of the actual OB start, in fact a mere 3 hours before it kicks off..

Yeah... the American website is much, much better. Even WoW's is better as it uses Flash as an addition to, rather than a replacement of HTML. Can't even open a silly link in a tab on the EU website (unless there's some trick to doing that with Flash links I don't know of).
Apart from that, they should spend some more points in their planning, time telling and communication trees. :D
I'm off to make breakfast and do the dishes... will be back later. I assume you'll post server info on the frontpage?

Sometimes the website works, but even then no sign of new registration pages? All I see is the big register for beta button at the bottom that has been there for weeks (I think?) and it doesn't do anything.

yup wont load for me at all so tried Only-WAR.com and theres already a 16 page thread on how shit this is :)

Its crazy - couple of huge threads going. Some people able to get past the captcha stuff, others like me cannot see that image (but hey at least there isnt an error code now..) in 3 different browsers on 2 different machines!

I just hope they learn from this and are willing to admit things have gone a bit iffy in a news post.
I've tried a couple of times in IE and don't get the image. Going to try 1 time in Safari and then I'm off doing cleaning until later today.

Worked it out - it seems it is to do with why new accounts are needed. Probably yet another coding error/foul up by GOA! As mythic customers US side can use 5 year old DAOC accounts if they want too :(
To make matters worse, I had a image code on a browser in another window, and didnt notice it until I hit "new image", now I dont get one at all.

Seen mentions of people getting to character creation ingame, but I take that with a pinch of salt - unless they are Americans in the wrong thread or something!

We are sure most of you followed our news about the registration page and the patch process so far. During the day some of you have encountered issues with these steps. We are aware of the situation and are working on solutions.
As we wrote in previous news connecting to our account system might lead to timeouts (error message 414). The link between the website and our account database needs some optimisation. Our technicians are working on that and, while their work will temporarily slow down the registration process we expect some improvements soon.
It might happen that the patcher stops working. The technical teams continue to improve the performance of the patcher and some of their changes might lead to a disconnection between your client and our patch server. In this case please restart you patcher, it will continue its download at the beginning of the last file you downloaded during the disconnection.
There has been a misunderstanding about the creation of new accounts. If you already have an account on www.war-europe.com , you don’t need to create a new one and can activate your key directly here.
Some of you have received error messages stating that your Open Beta code has expired. We are currently looking for the reason of this error message. Rest assure that your code is definitely valid.

The moment we've all been waiting for is here – the European WAR Open Beta servers are online! All previous beta testers will have immediate access while new testers will be joining WAR in waves.
All Open Beta servers are currently running the Core rule set – there are no Open RvR servers in the Open Beta. English players will be able to choose from the following servers: Karag Dron, Karag Orrud, Nehekhara, Karak-Hirn, Karak-Norn, Alarille, Burlok and Ellyrioon.
GOA and Mythic are very excited to bring Europe the WAR Open Beta. WAAAAGH!!

Yeah atm they're processing loads of new accounts... from a lot of people that already had an account.
Perhaps a clean start would have been better. "It went wrong. We're sorry. Register your key again using your existing account. Have fun."

Most up to date news
As we told you in previous news, the key validation system has been taken offline while our technical teams work on it. A lot of work has been done and some of the hardware on the database server has been changed as well as a lot of software improvements and our teams are still working hard to prepare the systems.
As a result, we will launch a new code validation page today at 16:00 CET. This new page will feature a delay between the input and the validation of the key. You will now receive a confirmation email within a few minutes of entering your key.
On a related topic; if you created a war-europe account yesterday and have a validation email for this, these changes will allow you to follow that link and validate your account.
