EVE Online / Graphic Assets
« on: April 18, 2009, 12:46:47 PM »
Calling all Graphics Guru's....

I'm after some graphic assets for the corp to fit into a website I am developing which will provide an in & out of game corp store for things we produce.
The main corp logo can be found: http://maadim.handsofjustice.co.uk/maadimanage/includes/eve/corpLogo.php?s=574,555,468&c=680,677,672 and looks like

I'm looking for some complete image sets (with the corp look & feel) for the following categories:
  • Buttons
  • favicon
  • Corp Name as images for H1, copyright, etc

The above should be posted here for demos (http://handsofjustice.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=gallery) and ideally zipped/rar'd and attached to a reply to this thread (to make it easier for me :) ).

When I have something demoable - I'll run it past you guys first for feedback.
More than one image set is good - and if you have the time - then I'll setup a number of use selectable themes for the site.

The site will be available both in-game and out of game - and I can use different assets for both - so feel free to make different assets sets for each client type.

EVE Online / Robots in disguise..
« on: April 17, 2009, 11:10:14 AM »
We have liftoff!!

...... well compression at least.

Had a play with it just now and lost a little time trying to figure out how to do it.  Essentially it's the same as manufacturing but when selecting the assembly lines to use - you need to select "Personal" rather than public or Corporate.
The hard part is knowing how many runs to do based on the amount of ore you have without resorting too much to typing in the numbers and using show info to have the Ore/Run details.

The process appears to be:
1) Have Heavy water in your cargohold and enter Compression mode by turning on the Industrial Core (0 skills and the core uses 1k Heavy Water/cycle)
2) Have the Compression BP and Ore in your cargo
3) Right click and select Manufacturing on the BP
4) Select the choose installation button, change the drop down to "Personal" from Public/Corp (you'll now see the 4 compression lines)
5) Select a line & hit ok
6) Set the amount of runs you want and hit Ok
7) Hit Accept to start the job

It's pretty quick - about a min per run.  When the jobs done - deliver as you would a manufacturing job.
The only possible locations for the source and destination is the cargo (rather than the corp hanger).

And yes - she does transform.

EVE Online / Ratting & Loot
« on: April 14, 2009, 07:02:04 AM »
Guys,

I need some people to do a mundane but handy information gathering task.
Can people rat and gather all the loot dropped for an hour or two and then report back:

1) The number of NPC spawns they encounted
2) A summary of the loot (not salvage) they received

Something like:

14th April 2009

NPC's: 25
100mn Afterburner I x 9
800nm Rolled Tungston Plate x 4
Defender Missiles x 600

evemail or forum post is fine.  You don't need to collect all the loot - just record what was found including all wrecks (both large and small).
This is to find out what drops and to determine if we're missing anything that could be reprocessed by the corp efficiently.

Thanks.

Based on our current POS equipment (20 component slots and 3 Ship slots) then:

a) With the minerals and BPC's to hand we can produce the parts for a ship every 20 hours
b) With the components & ship BP to hand we can produce a ship every 2 days and 18 hours

EVE Online / Working at the POS
« on: April 11, 2009, 12:29:54 PM »
Guys,

The Corp Hanger at the POS is NOT for general personal storage.

You're welcome to have a GSC in there (with your name on) for your own stuff but other than than - what's there is for all members.  You're encouraged to drop any loot you don't want into the appropriate section - this will help the others and the corp later with mins when reprocessed.  The GSC's anchored at the POS inside the shields are for loot/ammo/goodies.

While there's an exception for capitals (their size would consume too much space) - all ships should be in the Ship Maint Array - rather than floating in space.  Any loose ships that need to be out for emergency/temp reasons should be left around the POS hardeners just above the tower.  This helps keep the POS clean/tidy, to prevent bumping - and also to make scanning easier (with too many ships in space it's harder to work out what's hostile and what's friendly with the directional scanner/scan probes).

I will be tidying up the Corp Hanger Frequently and moving any items I found not in the correct sections to the appropriate ones for general corp use.
Every so often we'll collect up surplus items for reprocessing.

One other thing that should be mentioned - there is to be no hoarding of ammo/modules - in your personal hangers or in/on your ships.  While supplies are building up we have limited stocks of modules and ammo - so have on you what you need and some spare - but dump back into the corp hanger what's left over.  This includes Tractors & Salvagers.  While it's nice to have a personal destroyer fitted for optimal salvaging - if it leaves somebody else without - then it's annoying.  If you want to fit a ship for general corp use - make sure it's name includes Corp - and then others can use it if/when needed.  These corp ships should be put back into the Ship Maint Array and the end of your session - rather than left in your hanger at a station.

Contact one of the builders if you find supplies short of something you need.  Try to give a few days notice and we'll work to ensure it's there for you.

Ships:
Let's try to ensure we have fitted ships ready to fly in the Ship Maint Array at the POS should you need quickly to jump into something for combat.  Be it setup for personal or for corp - we should sharpen up a little so our response time is a little better.  I'll leave it to the Combat Captains to organise fittings and setups.  I'll also be able to use these fitted ships as fight ready replacements in the carrier when in PNQ - so you'll have a spare should you need it.

EVE Online / PNQ: Hostile Towers
« on: April 07, 2009, 07:48:09 PM »
PMS & Co have anchored some towers in PNQ this evening.
They've tried it before and were DD'd - but PNQ is likely to be grim for the next week or so until it's all sorted.
I expect action to be swift against them - so be ready to jump in and help.

EVE Online / Exploration
« on: April 03, 2009, 02:25:24 AM »
Just a quick note - story to follow after sleep (4:30am here).

Spent most of the afternoon working on an exploration site Const found in 671 earlier today.
There's been losses (2 x Drake, 2xHurricane, 1x Raven), by I think everybody, but it's been damn good fun and great teamwork.

There's still a room to clear by 7pm evetime in the first stage of the escallation - all welcome :)

EVE Online / Moon Mining
« on: April 02, 2009, 11:19:24 AM »
Wotcha Guys,

A Moon harvester and silo has been setup at the Z3 POS now for Caesium.
The silo holds 20k m3, Caesium is 0.8 in volume and the harvester yields 100 units/hour

Quote
    SiloVolume/Caesium Volume
    20000 / 0.8
    = 25000 Caesium/units
      = maxCaesiumHeld/100
      = 250 HarvesterHours
        = HarvesterHours/24
        = 10.41 days
          = TimeToFillSilo
          = 10d 10h

So it'll need emptying every 10 days or so.

EVE Online / Moon Probing
« on: April 02, 2009, 09:42:21 AM »
Moon probing is striaght forward but time consuming as the probes take a while to analyse and transmit the results.
You'll need to use the Gaze(Astro V, Survey V, 5 Mins), Discovery(Astro III, Survey III, 10 mins) or Quest (Astro III, Survey III, 40 mins) probes - and equip a Launcher.
The Gaze & Quest probes can be used in Core or Expanded Launcher, the Discovery requires an Expanded Launcher due to the probes being 10m3 in volume.

The process is simple:
1) Warp to a Moon
2) Right click on the moon and "Align to"
3) Wait approx 15 seconds to ensure you're flying straight towards it
4) Launch the probe

Once the probe is launched - you won't see any countdown timer or get any feedback until the results are in.  You can however warp to a safe or repeat the process on another moon before the results are in.
You should avoid leaving the system, changing ship or logging off :)

Watch out in BYXF-Q - intel suggests there's a hostile titan pilot in system.
