Goa will no longer be the EU distributor of WAR.
Mythic are doing it themselves.

Well they didn't listen to the collective cries about not allowing pre-orders to register beforehand when they launched either :P
Goa has been a complete and utter failure and is in my opinion one of the main reason WAR! failed, expanding the servers like they did in the begining was doomed to make for empty servers.

The right decission, sadly a couple years late. GOA was a failure already during beta, and it didn't exactly get better after launch...

Press release:
BioWare Mythic assumes responsibility for WAR in Europe immediately. Once the transition begins, access to European servers for WAR will be suspended for 48 to 72 hours as new servers are brought online. The full game will then be accessible and to celebrate all current and former European subscribers will receive 14 days of free gameplay. Standard billing rates will resume after this free* game play period.
All characters and account information will be migrated to BioWare Mythic servers and be available to present and past players. In addition, new players will be able to create a free endless trial account.

Apparently the freetime started yesterday.
I cant login mind, as I forgot my passwords. So I changed one - can log into the old GOA site, but not mythics and cant login to the game at all :(

Does anyone have any luck with their original accounts? My (once) paid account seems to have disappeared. I already had trouble logging into it with the Tier 1 free to play, so I didnt think and created a 2nd account, but now I look into it further the Mythic site seems not to recognize my original username etc., just the one I used for the free account. :-[

Try adding _EUR to the end of your username.

yeah, tried that too, but doesnt work.

Im fucked because I cant recall the password to either my old main acct or the free account (the l10 one) and if I change them (which I tried with one) then Mythic dont even see that change as they only received the old password.

So, I changed my password for my mythic master account (same as my goa/war-eu acct details), then changed the games password from inside there. It works :D
Just fucking about with patches and such now.

New addition - the war report.
Its like a list of instant action areas and clicking one sends you to it- only useable once every 8hrs or so. Still nice mind.

patching WAR now - yay for my upgraded connection :) (however 10GB - WTF)
however, seems my original account has disappeared, so Lellebel et al. are gone for good it seems.
so it's just my tier 1 account left (which I created when old account seemed gone 11/2009 - which didnt bother me enough to look into further back then)

I'm on an playing this atm. Well, just logged off.
Rolled a Slayer called Grungor in Empire vs Chaos. Scenarios are way more fun than I remember, though I suspect its a combination of killy class + better client performance. I enjoyed it so much, I'm gonna play some more tomorrow! Probably level up a Squig Herder on Kazak Norn also (got one on Badlands currently, but dead during the day).

What I was disappointed in though was that WAR has also had the inevitable dumbing down...
First sign of this: trolls no longer knockdown (or is that because I am playing a slayer?)
Good change: more than one page of quests now (or was it always like that? I think I remember I was always juggling quests)

Ooh, seems they changed RvR so that you don't have to wait for zones to unlock anymore. That will cause more dynamic control I guess.

Anyways, apart from the odd DC on trying Scenarios, the net code seems much more stable.

Had good fun in T2 RvR today. Only problem is xp going too fast, I'm lvl 20 already, which means exit T2 soon.

Wow, you was like 15 early yesterday or the day before.
Thats a HUGE speed increase to levelling.

And in other news, I remembered which email address belonged to my freebie account. So thats sorted too ;)

server has 20% bonus for both sides (to keep population up I guess) plus the bonus for RvR
-> means fast leveling yeah
but I also played about 5 hours on end today - which helps...
but RvR was quite busy and my warband created/hopped from hotspot to hotspot, so lots of kills (dingdingding) and lots of keep-turnovers and defend-timers, which give about 5k XP each in T2 at least.

On the mythic website, change your game accounts password (its seperate to the mythic site one), so try that and see if it works :)

I'm currently really enjoyng WAR. Managed to get Kurtt to 21 and get his horsey.
I think the mistake I made last time was trying to avoid RvR in an RvR game. I treated it too much like WoW. Really enjoying the RvR this time round though.
May even resub.

Its still a fun game, in the early tiers.
I do like that its still busy at 2am ;)
One thing that gets me - why give us a scroll in the lowbie chars backs (on my Endless Trial account) that lets us change starter zone if they spent all that time ensuring we couldnt start there originally. Doesnt bother me, as Im going to look forward to taking my Dwarf home to Ekrund.

Because seeing that shiny thing in your backpack would make you buy the game, of course :)
