Chimera reviewed....
« on: February 07, 2010, 06:19:18 PM »
im looking at chimera fit's for odin. He's not far off being able to fly one and my saving up is going fairly well so i hope to be in the market within 3 months.
Having reviewed a few old fits etc and updating for the skills odin will have by the time im ready to go im looking at something similar to the following..

Did you check the fit red used??
Could be a good guide as he had used caps in battle afterall :)

Why are you using the "stalwart" boost amp? The t2 version is better and fits (should be significantly cheeper as well)

Also remember that one of the main uses for carriers are repping. So most standard fits usually have at least one remote rep fitted and the chimera has a bonus to energy so usually fits one of those as well. Most seem to claim you don't permarep caps either, no idea why.

Battlefield usage I take it?

Needs drones as well as fighters - ewar ones would be good too.

Probably a skills issue, but looked at using it with the dreaded rr - spider tanking carriers for example with bethor from Nerf?

Here is Bethor's fit: http://beyond-control.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=409
On page 2 of that topic is some blahblah he got from a battleclinic fit, don't know how true it all is, but it might be worth reading...
'Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime, and every kindness, we birth our future.'

'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'

I'd go for 3 ccc rigs rather than the 2 t2 ccc and extender rig as well.

I was looking at purely combat as we don't seem to be in a position to field the multiple capital fleets that would require a fleet fit. Having said that if a fleet fit would be preferable to people then i would look at something like this
[Chimera, test chim]
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II

Sensor Booster II
ECCM - Omni II
Invulnerability Field II
Invulnerability Field II
Capital Shield Booster I
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Cap Recharger II

Heavy Energy Neutralizer II
Capital Shield Transporter I
Large EMP Smartbomb II
Large Graviton Smartbomb II
Capital Energy Transfer Array I

Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Its not cap stable and would have to rely on fleet mates providing and additional boost to its shield or cap as and when required, but thats what fleets should be providing anyway so hopefully its all good  ;)
