New reply to another thread about this:

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/lord-rings-online-general-discussion-424/443136-empty-store-window.html

Paraphrasing: "Remove your own firewalls, windows is enough"

enough for what?

Windows firewall is  a bucket of rusty bolts.

Never used it and never will.  ;)

damn so they are going ahead with  the ftp then. And i'd managed a whole 6 months without playing by using the 'I really can't justify  another game' excuse. Ah well guess i'd best dust off the disk and reload and update it.  ::)

It's not my fault Tolkien needs two pages to describe how the grass is dancing in the wind!
That's exactly why I never read all the way through it either...
Was glad they made the movies

Movies were ok but if frodo and sam did any more crying and moaning in the  2nd and 3rd parts i'd have gone and hunted them down myself. bloody pansies ruined it for me. Still on my DVD player ive got it set up so it automatically skips those bits when i play it. (intelligent programing FTW)  ;D

Damn these bloody changes.

For the Third time in a year ive had to sit down for several hours with my eldest helping him sort out his talent tree's on his characters. This change has really snuffed things up.
3.5 hrs to peruse the Inet looking for updates and advice then re-doing the talent tree's on his rogue , warlock , hunter and DK.

mumble mumble  >:(

Having now tried out both heavy lines as far as the IS7 on Russian side and Maus on German side im now qualified to say the following.

I LOVE MY IS.

Ive got rid of all my high teir heavys and kept my IS with the 122mm cannon, ive added a rammer, spall liner and Binocs (10% extra view range) and it rocks. even when i lose i rarely make a loss. With premium  i make a good profit on most games.
Attached is an average example of what I make per game now. Dam fine fun  ;D

WIth the 122 u can damage most things with a hit. I get very few bounces using manual aim and some quite supprising results.
I hit an IS7 in the side armour yesterday, set him on fire and blew him up in 1 shot..

.

Eventually get a grip take 3 of his cities and threaten 3 others, so he sues for peace and offered me ALL of his cities except his capital in reparations :S  LOL

It's not a bug. Its a racial trait.

1. Tanks that go faster backwards than forwards.
2. The love of all things garlic
3. An inate arrogance that borders on megalomania
4. The urge to roll over and play dead at the first sign of a fight.

 :D

having said that, I had the americans do the same thing to me. Though it was only when i took their capital.

started a game 10am yesterday.
used custom settings to make the world huge with only 8 AI's but 20+ city states (can't remember the exact amount).
It's now 7.50am and ive just finished. Wife and kids have just got up. Im now going to crawl up to bed for a few hours.  ???

Hopefully by the time i get up she will have cooled down and won't shout at me any more for having just spent in excess of 24hrs playing a single game  :-[

....

On a side note... broken back.

A number of years ago i fractured a vertebrae in the lower half of my spine (L3). There was no damage to the  spinal cord so they just fused it to the adjoining vertebrae. I had about a 15% loss of flection as a result (no longer able to touch my toes).
Several weeks ago I fell off a step ladder at work whilst photographing a crime scene (yes less than a 3 foot drop). I landed on my feet but without bent knees and it appears the shock of the sudden drop fractured the adjoining vertebrae L4. Hence ive had another operation and now have several pieces of metal in my back whilst the latest spinal fusion takes effect.  ::)

Sigh!  sometimes I hate you guys....
There i am laid up in bed having just broken my spine again, and i think to myself "lets see what the old crew are up to as ive not had much time in the last 6 months to get online".  Within 2 days of perusing the forums ive re-opened my Champions online and LoTRO accounts, Downloaded Civ 5 and spent more money and time on gaming in the last 36 hrs than i have in the last 6 months  ::)

And its all you lots fault.

WUT! Broken Spine WUT?  OUCH.  Wut.

on topic.  I love building on an isthmus and then denying two factions who are war with each other Open borders, and just watching them unable to get around much (they have sea travel, but dont seem to use it much).

are you playing it online against others then? or is the AI in 5 a bit more advanced?

Despite work and family getting in the way of my Gaming life  ;)  i am now the proud owner of a King Tiger. And damn what a different beast that is to the Tiger I.  I can take damage without doing a BBQ impression and dish it out in a awsome way with the second 105mm canon thats available for it. I R BIG and BEASTLY   :D
