ive logged on another  server just to try it out. guess ill leave it a few days before trying the prefered server again. fortunately im working for the next 5 days so no big deal

You guys not starting HoJ in Rift then?

if that happened, only 2 people would still be playing after first few months isnt that how HoJ works these days

Pretty much this, our ability to "ooohhhh shiny" when it comes to any games is huge, so its just easier to not do that in Rift - which as you say Dan could just be another flash in the pan, but also might not be. Dont want to risk it at this time.

And of course we are all getting older and have more family commitments now. If time was no object i'd probably split my time 4 ways. 12 hrs gaming - 6 hrs sleeping - 3 hrs at the gym and the last 3 hrs doing everything that was left.  still beggars can't be choosers and needs must when the devil (wife) drives.

Ill probably go onto the server you lot are on then and see how it goes. If i get into the game ill look up your guild / alliance / club or whatever they are calling it in this game

Just because i can't help it, even though it doesnt go live till tommorrow evening. After it had finished the full 8 gig plus update i tried to start the game. It informed me i wasnt authorised then proceeded to play the full intro for me anyway. not to bad one has to say.

Im working an early turn tommorrow so providing no-one does anything stupid and i manage to get through the day without any serious incidents (fingers crossed) , I should be home for about 6 pm. Kids in bed by 7, wife ignored by 7.30 and im there

EVE Online / Notes found whilst spring cleaning office

Wife finally nagged me into cleaning out the office yesterday.
Down behind one of my book cases I found a little note book that contained details of everything I had just prior to my giving up on EvE due to lack of time... below is a rough summary  of whats sitting idle on 3 frozen accounts..

1.

30 mill + exp character Odin Zin
7 billion in cash
1 x orca  -  1 x chimera - 1 x rhea - 3 x badger II - 1 x hulk - 2 x raven - 1 x rokh - 1 x scorpion - 1 x golem - 2 x drake - 1 x ferox -
 2 x nighthawk - 2 x moa - 3 x osprey - 2 x cerberus - 1 x brick umm i mean charon.
plus god knows how much  in the way of modules of various descriptions

the other 2 accounts have a total of 4 15 million + exp characters at least 3 more hulks and another orca plus various fighting ships and another 2 billion cash oh and roughly 3 full charon loads of ore sitting in high sec where i mined but didnt sell prior to the accounts dropping off.

i really ought to get back in and play a bit. As we are moving in the next few months and 'she who must be obeyed' has said i can buy a new 3 screen rig to play around with maybe ill do just that

Ill probably go onto a PvE server to start with.  The main reason being im going into this game blind as i didnt participate in a the Beta hence ill want to get a feel for things first.

Oh and i'd just like to say " Holy 8.32 Gb download Batman" 

1.5 hrs for the full patched download   ouch!

haha good point well presented. 

I  can't really talk.  having 5 kids my choice of family transport is fairly limited.
Hence we have a Renault Grand Scenic  *shudder*.
Bloody 7 seaters are all like driving buses. Funny enough i wanted a Land rover Discovery. But for a decent 5 year old one they  still wanted over 15 grand  . I wouldnt (and quite frankly couldnt even if i wanted to) pay that that for a new car let alone a second  hand  one.

My son  has got his hunter to 85 and is currrently working on his warlock (82). He has been whining his arse off complaining that all the time he spent on getting full purple at 80 was a complete waste of time as by lvl 82 he has already replaced 3/4 of his equipment with greens and blues from questing and drops. Having said that his Warlock now has in excess of 40k health and mana.
He also says they questing in the new underwater area is fairly liniar and that the last quest in one particular location tends to direct you to the next location to pick up your next lot. The 3 dimentional aspect of it takes a bit of getting used to but he now likes it. Oh and you get a new mount for free as well. A seahorse which increases underwater speed by 450%.

Ive not seen  anything about this then  PING! it pops up from no-where.

hmmmm i need to think of a plan to get a subscription of this past the wife. At least for a month  or so to allow me to try it

having just spent the last half hour reading up on it. You are right its more than a little of an EvE ripoff.
Still as has already been said its MECHS. So im going to have to give it a go purely for that if nothing else

Just seen on MMO champ that xp for 71-80 is being reduced by 20% come 4.0.3a. Good new for my 70 shammie!

i put a month on my account because my son wanted me to help him and his 4 mates get their characters to lvl 70. I lvl'd my Lock , Hunter and Rogue from 70 - 80 in just under 2 weeks and now they are making it even easier?

Bah.. its turning into a noobfest.  Bring back the good old lvl 60 max where MC was the top notch instance.  i sooo miss those days.

oh and a side note.  How easy have they made it to get gold?  by the time i'd lvl'd all 3 to 80 i had over 2k gold in the bank again.Gave it all to my boy the day before the months time ran  out.

watched the first episode.  havent seen any zombies yet. Just a load of extra's they seem to have bused in from Tilbury (Essex).

Its almost like being in ASDA's in Tilbury on a Saturday morning , picking up the bits of body from the friday night smash and grab that went wrong.. 

All that aside. A promising start. Im disappointed they opted for the standard 'wake up in hospital to find its all gone  to hell in a handcart' start. Thats already been done far to many times... (resident evil series anyone?).
