Title: EU Beta Invites Have Started
Post by: Kurtt on September 29, 2011, 10:37:01 PM
Start refreshing those inboxes folks, according to this (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9487235#edit9487235) thread by Chris Collins, EU Beta invites have started.

All the best boys. Hope some of us get in (and by some of us, I mean me... :P )

So far i got one mail saying that now i had a chance to try the game i should make sure i preorder to not miss out on early access(wich i already did) and another mail saying thank you for helping shape the game by participating in the testing, now fill a survey and see how your experience compares to other testers.
But have yet to see any actual invites to the beta.  :D

Aaaand all invites have been sent.

If you don't get one in the next 10 mins, you likely won't be in this weekends beta.

Dont want to be in beta anyway.

And thats the truth.

I finally want to walk into a recent mmo not having ANY prior knowledge about anything in it from having beta'd it.

One thing I like about SWTOR is that even though I've seen a lot of it, and even played a little, there's still so much to discover. It's why I've steered clear of vids of later content.

I has three invites...

Judging by Mr Reid's post for those who didn't sign up before 11/11/11, if they get a code via a 3rd party website, they need to sign up before 18/11/11. Looks likely it'll be next weekend then.

Should keep me going till launch!

So I just got this

Quote
Greetings Teleute,

Your account has been selected to participate in an upcoming Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Beta Weekend Test. If you have previously tested or are currently participating in an ongoing test, you will be invited again. Additional details for this upcoming test will be announced soon.

As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test.

As a reminder, should you choose to participate, everything associated with this test (game information, process, forums communication, etc.) is confidential and may not be discussed outside of the Game Testing forum. Additionally, your participation in the Game Testing Program is subject to the Game Testing Agreement.

May the Force be with you,
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Team

So I guess I'll see you all there ;-)

So has everyone got their invites? I'm really not sure whether to bother as to not spoil any of the game, but it's just too tempting. I might just do what I did with Rift and enter as opposing faction, and play a class completely different to what im going to chose at launch.

thast what im going to do

play something Imperial as stress testing is important for a smooth(er) launch.

Gonna play a Sith Warrior I think.  Doing NO instances (im not spoiling them from either side tbh I want them virgin fresh when I sully them), not looking at crafting (again I dont want to spoil it for myself) and generally just doing some story stuff just to get a feel for it.

Ive spent too many hours on big mmos getting all the info I can before it releases then just going meh when it releases :S

Hello everyone! We are excited to have you joining us for Beta Testing Weekend! We can’t wait to get you all into the test. If you just received your invitation today, you can visit www.swtor.com/tester to download the launcher and begin patching the game.

To simulate a launch environment, testers who have accepted new invites to weekend testing will gain testing access in staggered intervals based on when their invites were accepted. The first group of testers will be able to log on beginning on Friday morning (11/25) at 10:00AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin). Then, Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin) the second and final waves of testers will gain access. Please watch your email for details about when your phase of testing begins. This will come in a separate email from your invite.

To our existing testers: at 10:00AM CST on Friday 11/25, you will notice several new servers appear in server selection for the weekend test to accommodate all our weekend testers. You are welcome to create characters on these new servers, but please note that they will only be available for the duration of the weekend test, which ends on 11/27 at 11:59PM CST (11/28 5:59 London, 6:59 Paris/Berlin).

All testers share forums at this time, so please welcome our weekend testers, who will be active in these forums for the duration of the weekend test!

Just a note.  Yes we will be in beta this weekend, but that doesnt mean I want to see spoilers here, newbie guides to this that and the other or anything that will remotely ruin the "new game smell" in december. Hell i am even going to try and not find things to bitch about as I consider that bad form too in this case ;)

I'll delete posts that even think of thinking about the above. Only discuss any bugs we find and such like, that way in 1month when we still see them we can lol :D

(Oh and when its live in december, lets not look up instance strats or anything, and remove people from our groups if we have to pug who try and say "this is how you do it".  We are a pretty competent bunch and really do not need to look up hints and tips for things in this day and age)

Typical. I've decided to roll a Republic for the beta, and you're all going Empire *sniffs armpits*..oh that's why.

After rinigng up Bioware (how old school is that!) and being on hold for TWENTY......SIX......MOTHER.....FUCKING.....MINUT ES I finally got through to some obnoxious dick who really couldn't be arsed to help...but I finally coaxed him into telling me my security question answers before he hung up without even saying goodbye...

It's downloading now...hopefully I started it early enough to get in on Friday aft seeing as though I'm out all Sunday. I think a sick day is in order.

Nah. From what I've read, you don't even get into act 1 until about 25 hours in, so I figure there's plenty of story left for when it goes live.

I created my account on 25th July 2009.
But apparently I didn't give them my full contact info and named my unborn child after them, so my account wasn't eligible for beta testing.

And I only found out about that on 22th November 2011.

Site is that rammed, I cannot log out of 1 account to log in with my actual account (I found a way to check my secure answers without ringing them up).

Sooooo messy, and the fact that 99% of the US is off from today is just going to make it worse.

Troll much?

See you at launch!

Little bit of an overeaction if you ask me. Especially as now my tester status has gone back to what it was before I got invited... :(

Seems every thread is linking - even in itself - to the one you posted.  Forums are fucked.

Won't let me do anything after logging in though because I don't have an active subscription. I guess it's the universe telling me to stop ffing around and do some work.
