Ice Mining Skills

Which characters out of the mining focused ones we have are skilled for this or are skilling towards this?

So far I know Ammik can Ice Mine and will be moving her to Kamio/Halaima to setup a place there, since its Caldari space the Ice will help with Port Robinson's upkeep.

I got a Hulk and i got some ice miners with upgrades, but last time i tried finding a icefield near Anttiri i couldnt find one even tho i was sure i had seen one. :s
But say where to go and if there is a need for ice and i could see about mining some. :)

Kamio & Halaima are the closest belts according to the EVE Maps books :) (2-3 jumps out of Anttiri)

Oh its not THAT bad...
If i go ice mining i usually log onto Noj on the laptop and do something else on the main computer. You dont have to watch the screen as much as when mining normal ore. :)
(In the past i have also spent almost a whole weekend just mining ice solo, but that was while i was still crazy about mining  :D )

Just bought Ammik a Mackinaw :)

I'd be willing to subsidise other peoples (pay a percentage of the cost) should people be willing to provide a percentage of ice mined to KASEI (could then sell the rest to the market) :)

Not that I would be able to do that but how much ice are we talking about? I mean how much will KASEI need?

We'll need isotopes for cap ships and liquid o for cyno fields also.
Both also sell well in 0.0 - both for cap ships and running towers - so it'll be worthwhile to stockpile any surplus.

I take it specific isotopes for specific racial ships? As it is for POS's currently?

Liquid Ozone comes from any type so thats always a bonus.

Aye - racial specific isotopes.

With ice mining - would be better to do a corp op - we can benefit from the bonuses of the orca's and it's waaaaay more interesting as a group.
The orcas will come in handy with the cargo space - ice takes up so much damn space.

What is the minimum skills and gear needed to mine Ice? Swuliina could read the Ice Harvesting skill book, but I presumer Ice Harvesting I and a Bantam isn't exactly the bare minimum to actually mine anything :P ?

You would need a Mining barge to fit the ice harvester modules.
The harvester modules require Mining lvl 4 and ice harvesting 1 to use. Ice harvester upgrades requires mining 4 and mining upgrades 1.

Ill be adding ice mining to Chalcs mining skills list for around march time. Her training is fully booked until then. Eventually she will be able to mine and process anything and everything. She will be purely mining though. no manufacturing / hauling or combat.  :'(

Epsillon has Harvesting but not Processing - I just need to grab & fit a Mack.

Where's the nearest Ice Belt?
