Title: "Flagging", Hisec Shooty Shooty etc
Post by: Mangala on November 30, 2008, 06:07:39 PM
You can be shot at by other players in Hi-Sec space (0.5 - 1.0) for the following reasons without a CONCORD reaction:

Your player corp/alliance is at war with their player corp/alliance;

You have stolen something from them: Loot from loot cans (not salvage); They flipped your "jet-can" while you mine and then you try to take the contents back;

Your drones aggressed them - rare but has been known to happen to people who scan mission-runners down;

They have kill rights on you for previous actions - kill rights last a few weeks and only extend to that player if memory serves;

You smartbombed them while at a gate looking for someone else;

You shot them first for no reason (mis-target etc);

Probably more that I havent thought up or done or been a victim of myself.

How does this one work? Wouldn't the "flipping" mean they get tagged for pvp first?

yes, however dont try to steal back from them as it will also flag YOU to THEM allowing them the oportunity to make the first strike.

The high sec griefers do this to bait the newer players who dont know the way flagging works. Let them steal , put a tell in local so other miners are aware and move on, you will have lost some ore but in the long run this is cheaper, as usually they will have stealthed mates nearby waiting for your "aggressive" move.
