tough luck mate, hope its not the motherboard that overheated.

As I said in EVE - 3 weeks to get a new board with functioning SLI's.

Good that I was under warranty :D

Annoying though, as I have like 4 decent weblinks for anything on the lappy. I'll get more EVE and work done I suppose.

I had this.

Theres a thread on the EU board documenting how to sort it.

Keep UAC off, more hassle with it on.

Saying this, while I created a user account on my currently scramed machine to play lotro, of late - ie this week - I had been able to play it from the original account I setup on Vista.

I now hate summer. Yes thats right. Hate it.

Through bad placing of the box for my good rig, it overheated and now seems to be be sli-less. Thats right, I left it in direct sunlight (near a window on a desk) and the thing got hot, very very hot. Now the graphics dont work at all. gonna get a cheapish card tomorrow and try the slots incase its just the card(s). If it isnt then grrrrrr. *Goes to locate his warranty documents.*

I'm left with a lappy that barely runs EVE Classic, let alone anything else.

Sure is im just about to head out to a nice beer garden for lunch and the odd cold beer.

Wouldnt have done that a few weeks ago, lets hope its stays with us, and you guys down south dont get too many water issues ;) ahh the pleasures of having hills all around :D

I lives near 4 major reservoirs. Never have water issues. I bought one of those 10 foot wide garden pools yesterday. Its ace.

Love it when he says in the final shot of the movie itself "I am Ironman". And the media goes wild. Just awesome the way he seems to buck the superhero/alterego trend.

its all down to luck as your reinforcements are randomly placed

Figures.

Then my luck is just the suck. I keep trying and I keep getting cruddy reinforcements, or worse, where I cannot really use them well.

If you can find someone with a Founders code for special deals (from boxes from early access/ pre-release last year) - ie £100 lifetime sub - then ask them if they would give it you. The deal is still valid even now (I did my Lifetime with it yesterday after initially enquiring on the EU forums as to its validity), although it doesnt act in conjuction with the current percentage off deals.

I'm sure there'll be people out there who picked it up on release/early access last year and have not used the Founders key.

Thats for US clients.

You need to check for EU offers - unless you want a US client of course? - I cannot find a page for them anywhere.

However from a quick memory of the screen when I log to the game it looks like:

£6.99 per month if you sub at the moment, forever unless you cancel and resub etc then its back to whatever it is normally;

£134 for a lifetime sub down 10% from the current £150

(not sure of the Prices in Euro's).  These deals should be valid for you in the Netherlands - havent seen any whines on the EU forums to suggest otherwise.

Is the EU forum thread that is relevant here :)

Lord of the Rings Online / Guardians: What they want YOU to know
« on: May 06, 2008, 10:50:33 AM »
General

Guardians are tanks. Heavy armor and aggro management.

Instances usually go better if you let us control the pace of the exploration. Please don't start pulling mobs unless you're asked; that's how fellowships wipe. If we stop, there's usually a good reason.

Many of our attacks are reaction chains which require us to be getting attacked by the mob.

Keep us healed. Although we can heal ourselves a little, our power is better used to keep aggro.

Our Repair bills are a lot more than yours. Contributions are appreciated.

Aggro

Hunters especially (who do lots of DPS at range) should hold-off on using their best attacks until the Guardian has locked aggro (usually when the mob is under 60% health). If you're pulling too much aggro, please use your Endurance stance and Below Notice.

Unless pulling on purpose, we prefer other players to only attack the mob we (either the Main Tank or the Off Tank) are attacking. If you attack another mob, you risk pulling aggro. Everyone attacking different mobs can make the battle last far longer than it should.

The wavy red lines above a mob's head indicate we have landed a move that generates a good bit of aggro. This may be useful to watch for if you are waiting to deal out full DPS.

Don't run from the tank. It's the absolute worst thing you can do, and everyone does it! If you are getting hit, don't run around like an idiot. Stand still, and we will come to you. Better yet, bring the monster to us! Whatever you do, don't run away from us, and don't run in circles.

If you tend to pull aggro a lot, or if you are a Minstrel: SIT IN THE POCKET!
The pocket is an area directly behind or to the side of a Guardian where you are out of reach of attackers, but the Guardian can easily turn and regain aggro.

It is FAR more difficult to "steal" aggro and pull a mob off of you, than it is to get & keep aggro to begin with.

Often guardians will use our various AoE attacks to try to build up at least a little aggro on all the mobs present. If you are a class that can mez or root, please let us know ahead of time so that we don't let loose with a swiping attack that will knock out of mez the mob that you just mezzed half a second ago without telling us.

Some Helpful Info On Agro Management

Miscellaneous

Acorns are items that allow you to call the Guardian to you. We can make them at level 38. We can make lots of them, but you can only carry one acorn at a time.

The guardian cannot be summoned into (or out of) an instance. Acorns can be mailed, so you can effectively fed-ex a guardian to you if you're both near a mailbox.

just beware the evil moose killing quests those things are about as extinct as dodos , plus when you do see any those damn hunters and LM hit them just as you get your toes to them ;)

I noticed that yesterday - so much fun waiting for them to respawn.

Awesome zone though - Love what I have seen so far.
