Title: Re: Red Versus Blue. Endless war.
Post by: Mangala on September 26, 2009, 02:32:37 PM
So, my 2ndary main, Angaraka Solaris, has moved onto new pastures.  He has joined the Red Federation, a part of a player run inititiative:

Yes it's coming back, Red Versus Blue.

A couple of years ago over on SHC, a guy called Tron said, “wouldn't it be great if there was corps at war in empire you could just join and pew pew in anytime you wanted?”, I said “Yes”, RvB was born.

This was before Faction Warfare existed, in the aftermath of the Alliance P nerf with a lot of bored people wanting a simple conflict to engage in without POS, politics and alliances.

We had a great amount of fun but the project fizzled out through lack of leadership, I've thought many times this last couple of years about bringing it back, I happened to mention this recently and the support has been overwhelming, so, with lessons learned from last time we're coming back, bigger and better.

FAQ Below.

TL:DR

Free for all empire war pew pew everyone welcome.

Join Channel R-V-B

I had an alt in R-V-B 1 a few years ago and that was awesome fun but leaders had burn out and it fizzled out, this time round they arent leading per sé, but will be doing some basic organisation to ensure this will just go on and on.  Fun, no strings pvp that doesnt have standings req's like FW, doesnt have 0.0 crap attached and by general consensus doesnt have ECM faggotry.

It started this afternoon and so far, Ang as been involved in 14 kills for 2 losses, I am having so much fun doing this.  If you have a spare alt, get some basic training on it, join RED (not blue they suck and fail at everything excepting sucking and failing) and get some fun pew pew!  http://redfed.eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=498124

Been a blinding day, really good fun for me.

It all sounds and looks very exciting  :)

But lacking active 2nd accounts, this would either mean pulling out Saf out of money making (and MAADI) of sacrificing some days of his training, which I am reluctant to do :\
Hmm... Tough choice: yes/Saf, yes/Alt, no/no

Steal hannibal off of Garry...

Or take a few days off saf's training do some basics to get a minnie into rifters etc and i'll give your guy some of my HUGE stockpile - if he went red :D

Well, I already had another Alt set up to become a 2nd research alt, and I was making a skillplan for RvB just now, but then I began doubting how much fun it would be with skills at 2s and 3s  ???

Theres brand new chars doing it and having fun, theres people who have used any alt they could to join - hell Ang isnt an awesome char with ships as most of his sp is in Leadership, and im having good throwaway fun!

So, an afternoons fun has given me another 20 kills, for 4 or so losses (currently flying a rifter named Lossmail Eleven) on my part.  Despite my name beginning with A, I am not getting primaried due to flying a small fast ship.  The otherside doesnt seem to set its frigs on ours when big gangs meet, whereas we frig pilots go after theres.  Theres some good fights been had, with some dogfighting involved for me, and some strafing runs of bigger stuff I have done too!

Then there are fights with the otherside baiting us:

http://handsofjustice.co.uk/forum/gallery/1_27_09_09_4_15_43.jpg

That maller was tanked beyond belief, took an age to get it down, and even when the otherside started jumping in they didnt aggres us while the Maller pilot was tanking :)

The aim is roughly 50% perma-efficiency on both sides, which would be great as it would mean both sides are reasonably balanced :D

From the lolRP board  :D
Quote
2 years ago now, I couldn't believe there was no food left in the stores, we'd just come back a weeks pillaging in Syndicate, sure we'd got loads of loot, weapons, ammunition, ship upgrades. No damn food!

I knew Tron Sarkus kept a sneaky stash of munchies in the old crypt so I headed off down there to see what I could scavenge, nosing around I found a foodbox in his office, broke it open, aha! Pot Noodle! Only a Chicken and Mushroom one which is probably the most disgusting but damn I was hungry, I had a laser sidearm with me which would heat the water up just fine, I wandered off out to head back to my cabin and tripped up on my way out, falling over and on top of the Pot Noodle, cracking the plastic pot. Fuck.

So I'm hungry, I have pot noodle with no pot, but wait, I'm in the crypt right? I knew it was here somewhere, Tron and I had argued about it just the night before, stupid "Teapot of Justice", I was sick of the old rituals, dressing up in those Minmatar slave girl costumes and drinking lemon tea while watching Podpilot Idol. To hell with it, I looked around and there it was mounted on a plinth adorned with the Purple Arms and next to the Forbidden Toaster of Desire (wish I had some bread tbh). There was nothing else for it, I grabbed the teapot, filled in the the potless pot noodle, added water, pew pew with the shooty gun and it was hot as hell. Mmmmmm sacrilicious.

Just as I'm scoffing the last few chemically altered wheat noodles in he walks, flanked by General Arkaiser and Commander Thrace. I have to say, while it was clearly a grave moment in New Eden history, the look on his face was great, it was like (http://rvb.tech-pc.com/images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif) (http://rvb.tech-pc.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif) (http://rvb.tech-pc.com/images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif) (http://rvb.tech-pc.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif). He erupted into one of his great rants, I didn't even listen to the words, I knew by the look on the faces of Sarkus and Arkaiser there was no backing down now, we'd gone too far, just as I knew that Thrace would eventually side with us.

I walk straight past them and out, opening my communicator and signalling General Raivi, "the time has come, the revolution begins today, RED DESTINY!"

Absolutely epic fight in Syndicate.

http://bluerep.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_rel ... id=4557937 (http://bluerep.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_rel ... id=4557937)

For those who missed out we went down to one of the decadent Huzzah Federation's home systems, ganked a Megathron on it's gate and awaited the response. At first it was just bombing Manticores (which splattered Plave's dictor halfway back to Tourier), some poor bastard in a ratting drake and then a disco Dominix. Eventually they showed up in force with a remote rep battleship fleet, but with our fearless fleet commander Plave back in the fight in his weaponless Executioner we were confident of victory. The purple fleet fought bravely against overwhelming odds and eventually downed 8 of the infidel battleships, forcing Huzzah to commit capitals to the fight.

We killed a total of 24 infidel ships for 32 losses. The vast majority of our losses were t1 stuff, while Huzzah lost a lot more expensive stuff. We inflicted 830M ISK in damage while sustaining 230M, an absolutely fucking awesome result for a fleet that had never flown together in nullsec before. You all rock.
The disco domi killed 10 of us, I was glad I was in an arty Thrasher and thus at range :)
Unfortunately, I was killed pretty fast in the final escalating gatefight, but the remaining fleet stayed and killed quite a few more ships, till a RR carrier showed up and we lacked the dps to overcome it's repping.
My pod was killed on the way home by a multiple dragbubble gate camp, which gave me a free ride home. Luckily(?) I had no implants, cause I was podded the day before by a disco BS of blue.

(and yeah, we had some arses not keeping to noobships, but we killed one of those, boohd one of them out of fleet and one we kept as backup when hitting large targets)

Wraithstorm's report:
Quote
I logged in and promptly formed a Red Fed fleet. Blue was pretty active in the area so we formed up in Cruiser and below and set out to get some kills. After some minor skirmishes we had recieved intel that 2 blue Astartes piloted by the notorious Evil Edna and Gaiden R were on the Alenia gate in Tourier. We setup on the gate and as they jumped into us they were destroyed. Quicker then I expected tbh.... Prior to this one of the Astartes escaped us on the Alentene gate but we were able to nab a Cyclone who was jumping in to assist what he THOUGHT would be the Astarte fighting us so we were anxious to catch him this time... And we did..

After a few kills we decided to ship down into noob ships and get some good fights. We recieved intel of a blue geddon on the Alentene gate in Alenia so we quickly went to engage him. I had a stealth Bomber in this fleet just incase we bit off something big and juicy and the geddon fit that description. Just as we were concerned that we didnt have the DPS to take him down he does the unthinkable.....AND SMARTBOMBS THE GATE!! Well, the customs officials didnt like that and with concords help we took the geddon down.

After this we moved the noob ship fleet to blues HQ and started to camp them in. I then relaized that a rapier snuck into our fleet and quickly ordered him to either stay cloaked or switch ships. I was told I was a shitty FC and he left gang lol... Emir Khan (spelling) decided he wanted a piece of me, and killed my noob ship in his Moa which resulted in him being killed by our own fleet...

We had a few cool kills in Alentent, and then decided that blue wasnt organized at the time. We had planned to leave the noob ships on the blue station with cool things as ship names but then instead decided to have a battle royale amongst eachother. First place (Rox Genghissomething sorry!) was awarded 10mil with 2nd place (Mistahui something sorry!) given 5mil.

A good picture of the kills and losses for the entire 2 hour operation can be found here: http://redfed.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_rela ... id=4565143 ( not an accurate battlereport but more of a TOTAL summary)

Thanks to Reds for fleeting up and Blues for giving the goodfights.

Save me from Blue FC's who want to primary drakes when there is squishier stuff on field outside our (blue) HQ.

Grrrrr.

Otherwise im enjoying being back in RVB for a short while ;)

Will be leading a few fleets this time round, get myself some more leadership experience especially in a small gang, lag free environment.  Obviously I wont be calling draek as primary unless theres nothing else there.

Please dont jam the tempest that has aggressed your FC (me) on station.

Bump it off instead.

Jamming deaggress IT, which is a BAD thing.  Especially when its at 30% armour.

God that was annoying.

Especially when Im in a heavily tanked baitdrake.

So I fc'd a gang of cruisers & frigs this evening.

Red were blueballing us and playing station games.

So we went there, left, went back.

I fell for a bait Moa didnt I.  They undock a host of similar sized ships.  Lost 7 of us for 4 of them.  Not bad, but im not happy.  Didnt know pods couldnt lock, so made it hard to call, and no one else could/would.

I still had some fun though.

So this week has been odd.

Wednesday 80(ish) man fight on a gate in Alenia.  Laggy as fuck, shows CCP to be useless. Still fun though, and nuking shit from range with a 'cane is always fun. Until a stack of enemy BC's realise that their ecm drones dont seem to be stopping you and shit keeps dieing, then it all went flamey for me.

Then some fun 5mans yesterday afternoon - last evening was sucky though (stupid other fc's!).

Then just now - total bragging post btw - http://handsofjustice.co.uk/maadi3kb/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=1116

Solo kill!!!!!  Was a good fight too. Was fighting an imicus on a gate, killed its drones, then this punisher lands and mwd's into me. Given Im using a scram and ac's I smell the rape I can dish out, he doesnt. And proceeds to get it, in his face.  Imicus comes into try and help, then runs as his mate pops and my scram doesnt catch him fast enough due to still cycling off.

Awesome though - felt brilliant, especially as the prior drones had got me to 50% shields, but the punisher using mwd and generally not being me helped.

Bit of an odd weekend in RvB.

Fun, but odd.

Saturday war targets werent really about much.  Reds were - "patrolling" in BS's etc for WT's.  That this patrolling meant sitting on BHQ alot didnt seem to bother them.  Blues formed up a fleet of cruisers fit in certain ways to keeeeel them. We hit them on HQ and got a couple, but not loads as Reds seemed to be channeling docking fags and kept doing that and repping :(  Its possible blues had 30 pissed off pilots by the end of that fight.

Later than night we took a BC heavy group against them in similar elsewhere and got a good few killed too, that was more fun than docking games.

Sunday evening we pulled the same stunt with cruisers against them, but on a gate and totally faceraped them, epic fun - blues didnt suffer a loss at all!!

(Id link fights but EVEKill seems to show 4hrs or more of activity in "battles" now...)

Just as I was getting annoyed with RVB due to docking games by everyone, it gets fun again.

To top it off, and to start my week, I killed Morphe Olorin solo this morning (Reds CEO).

Its what you get for jumping a blastaharpy.

So, past few weeks RVB has moved locations.  Blue is now based in Jurlesel, Red in Halle.  Both in Everyshore.  Nice multiple route constellation too!

Means much more roaming and more fun doing it. Some epic fights, like yesterday when a small blue force of drone boats took on everything 2 red gangs could throw at it. Then we used t2 toys to kill a cerb of reds!

RVB2 is also 1 in a week and a half, and im organising a couple of big in-house events for it. 1.6billion isk in prizes :D

Now we have me seeing a 3 rifter trap and falling for it anyway by being cocky enough to think id manage it:

Fucked my initial ammo selection so lost precious time reloading - wouldve had 1 rifter down and been gone at high speed (go go complex ab) before the second got their neut on me.  3rd was just icing :(

CCP caved and removed it - too open to complete meta gaming.

Anyways in RVB news.

Same 3rd parties who lost the mach, hired a merc corp to dec us. MErc corp fails and retracts a dec on red and asks blue to retract our counter dec - as "we have hard wars coming". We say lol no. So they surrender to us instead.

Epic evening of RVB.

Loads of kills from Dlarah, Rex and I - and Saf earlier on.

Lots of ECM.

Reds going from killing blues horribly (they took losses though) to being raped horribly right back :)

Kills are still being added here:

http://handsofjustice.co.uk/maadi3kb/?a=home

(Ps if you are in RVB, please copypasta your kills from the Blue killboard to ours please - I am limited on 10 an hour - as everyone is - and killmail feed imports dont seem to work too well).

Both RVB teams won todays AT9 matches, whether either has enough points to advance to next weekend is yet to be seen - i am hoping for some very low point matches tomorrow to bump our chances.

Yeah, looks like Red have scraped through in 28th place.

Still, this has been good either way for both sides of RVB, a lot more recognition out there, and the realisation that we arent just t1 frig alts etc :)

So I switched to Red this week after a year and a day in Blue.  Mainly to help even things out a touch, a few of the old blue hands did the same - however they are using Siigari "i lose officer fit shit for lulz" Kitawa (also a stupid forum troll) and his useless fcing as a reason :)

RVB moved:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Lonetrek#sec

Blue is in Autaris

Red is in Hageken

Iam not even in based in Lonetrek, but I am close.

Fighting is also restricted to 4 constellations: Sela, Mito, Kaala, Koichi.

Basically because of lazy people and poor fags.

And oh god, Im still making safes - ive been doing for around 12hrs total between yesterday and tonight...

It went really well. I missed the first part as I was still on mah way home, but I ended up fcing the 2nd part.

An attendee (none rvber) did a write up:

http://www.the20minuters.com/ganked

Quote
Came home from work yesterday and logged onto EVE as one does.  I’d pretty much finished moving all the stuff I wanted to move to my new home with Chain of Chaos so I could join one of their gangs or… I could go climb into “new eden’s finest combat vessel” and join the first RvB GankED night [ link ]. The existence of said night had been pointed out to me by Fade toBlack a couple days prior.  Flying a big fat Hurricane near home or a gracious Rifter in null that isn’t really even a contest since I’m totally gay for frigates. So I set off for Autaris stopping over in Jita on the way to grab two Rifters.

It’s the right thing to do.

After joining the fleet channel -seems some people actually use eve voice- and nearly going deaf because EVE apparently thinks voice should be retardedly louder then all the other ingame sounds. I was pleased to notice the general level of  jolliness and intoxication was high before we left the gate, this is always a good thing, also sexy British accents all over. Joining RvB voice is not at all unlike walking into an English countryside pub.

When we headed out to M-OEE8 it was an hour later then scheduled, and comms discipline which was almost non existent an hour before had completely disintegrated by now. There were a bunch of bubbles on the in-gate and it took the fleet like five minutes to clear them, luckily the sight of 50+ Rifters had chased off the campers upon our arrival. We were told to warp to m4n1c m1n3r half of the fleets still warped strait to the out-gate and promptly got caught in a drag bubble, where we missed a tackle on Chribba’s Tengu (yes, really) because of our excellent discipline.

We stumbled on like this until we jumped into N-FK87 where to our total surprise (who needs scouts anyway right?), we found a T3 fleet. And then *magic* happened suddenly primaries and secondaries where being called and like a bunch of drunken terriers we sunk our 150mm teeth in and didn’t let go till we were all dead,  but not without taking two Scimitars, a Loki, a Tengu and a Stabber Fleet Issue with us. We lost pretty much our entire fleet but it was great fun and totally worth it! [Battle Report].

Time to reship and go again!  Ship restrictions where lifted this time round and a number of people jumped into bigger ships. I jumped into my second Rifter how anyone could ever cheat on it after that last fight was beyond me.

While we were passing the wreck littered site of our previous engagement a fleet member that was trying to catch up to the main body reported he’d been exploded by a big gate camp. The FC inquired where this had happened and, with honour to be satisfied  now, we headed out to avenge our fallen comrades death!

We found the mixed NC. & Raiden. camp in KLY-C0 and set to work. I need to mention Mangala here who did an absolutely superb  job calling targets. Thanks to his calling and more drunken terrier antics we took down a fair number of them including four HAC’s and half a dozen or so battlecruisers. The fight was pretty intense and we did quite well for a rag tag fleet with no logistics in my opinion. All in all it was a really good and fun fight, one of those fights bitter vets claim never happen in EVE anymore, well they’re wrong I was in one just yesterday night! [Battle Report].

Thank you, RvB and Tim ‘AFK’ Pest & Mangala in particular for an excellent night of EVE fun. When RvB does another one of these I will most certainly attend and I highly recommend you, dear reader, do too. It’s buckets of fun.

To join roams like this, all you need is prop jamming I, the ability to fit a frig or a cruiser and some ears to listen to the FC.  No other skills are required when you are being herded about :)

I FC'd RVB Ganked 2 on Saturday, was a great time indeed.

Here's the write up I did for the RVB forums:

Part One
Started off with the meetup in Autaris (was very few blinkies meeting us in Jan as it turned out), way earlier than planned as well why not?  So Donga was a go.  By the time we left we had nearly 70 Thorax's in fleet and my Donga was vertical. What can I say, the sight of all those 'rax hulls made me horny. (4 Deimos, 1 Phobos, x number of Thorax's, a couple of Vexors and some Incursus)

We headed off with our first destination set as UMI-KK, had a couple of guys scouting (Geoffer and Eveess), they inform us of a Drake on the M-O gate in Taisy, that was jumping as we hit the Taisy gate in Nalvula. So I ordered us to jump to Taisy and get to M-O AS-Fukken-P and jump in after said Drake.

However, I didnt ask the scouts to get in before us, so we jumped into half a dozen large bubbles, with a bunch of 'canes and random crap sitting off them at range. Suddenly same drake decloaks near us so I order us to burn and kill it, he melted, then the others sides fleet comes bouncing in and getting screwed by their own bubbles - they got in deep so couldnt warp out. While 3 of the Deimos (including the ever so fail FC  ) and some of our smaller stuff died fast, the large majority of the fleet took care of business:

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10463778

Code: [Select]
Kills: 29
Losses: 16
Damage done (ISK): 1.26B - 1264.49M
Damage received (ISK): 0.56B - 564.89M
Efficiency: 69.12%

(Some ships show on "our" side that were not there - but EVEKills battle reports dont let you narrow down the time period, so all sorts can show for a given system).

Part Two
So after the FC and other losses reship, we moved on to UMI-KK through a very deserted Tribute.  We set course through Pure Blind from here, taking in a few systems and a biobreak.  As we all returned one of the scouts reported a few people being in ROIR-Y, ones he couldnt shoot due to no more alliance (lol politics) :(  As sat on the ROIR-Y gate, waiting for him to leave it so we could jump in, he suddenly exclaims "guys, there was some on the G95-VZ gate, hold in that system", and suddenly a few ships jump into us and die in an awful fire and get sent home the fast way - POD EXPRESS!!

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10464459

Code: [Select]
Kills: 7
Losses: 0
Damage done (ISK): 0.03B - 27.03M
Damage received (ISK): 0B - 0M
Efficiency: 100%

Part Three
After the small instance of buttsex our thorax fleet perfomed on the above, we moved up into Fade, shooting station services along the way - enjoy those mails you 0.0 slumlords you!  Eventually we got to the K4YZ-Y gate, and our scout reported some people both in system and on station. Suddenly Yoshi steps up and offers his Deimos as bait to get them off station.  This cunning ploy worked, however when his relief (all of us) jumped in we found a group waiting for us on the gate, so we pewpew'd them, either forcing them off or killing them, too late for Yoshi as he died while we were busy.

We then moved to their station as the guys who killed Yoshi were still agressed, and we got a couple of them before they managed to dock/warp off (wait no scrams?!!!).  They valiantly tried to smack in local, but this didnt scare us at all, so they undocked a whole bunch of stuff, followed by 3 carriers.  We bravely got to work and started killing things before the carriers got reps onto them, however all of a sudden a fleet member calls "Machariel on field", so I immediately had us switch targets and we threw all dps at the Mach until it melted under our guns, despite the reps from Carriers....

Then, some discretion took over as our numbers were whittling down, and while fire was our aim, faggotry fire involving caps wasnt.  So we bailed to lick our wounds, pod the shipless home.

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10464449

Code: [Select]
Kills: 40
Losses: 42
Damage done (ISK): 2.41B - 2414.57M
Damage received (ISK): 1.09B - 1092.87M
Efficiency: 68.84%

Part Four
The ragtag band of survivors then decided to head back to empire, hoping to find a better fire along the way, however it soon turned out a bunch of guys were following us, so we formed up - those few who were left - on our out gate in F-NMX6.  Shortly thereafter a group of mainly frigates landed on the gate.  Some jumped as soon as we aggressed, however the majority stayed, and fought.  It was about this time that i gave up target calling and just said "kill everything", which is pretty much what happened.

Code: [Select]
Kills: 22
Losses: 1
Damage done (ISK): 0.27B - 274.66M
Damage received (ISK): 0.05B - 49.02M
Efficiency: 84.86%

The rest of the journey home was very uneventful, sad to say I my pod+clone survived the whole night and I only lost 1 ship out of the 4 I had set aside, but it was a brilliant roam, and totally glad I was there from the beginning, I even learned the odd thing or two about FCing (and how to spell the word HOLDING).

Very much looking forward to the 3rd night. So stay tuned for more details!

(PS. A final note, just an apology from me to those who either had to install TS3 or couldnt/wouldnt so couldnt make it, EVE Voice has many issues for some people and I have my personal doubts about it in fleets of 50+, so I made arrangements to use the Ganknight TS3 on very short notice to save any voice related hassles from connection issues etc.  I should have made certain to inform people properly of this much possibility much earlier than on the night.)

Be the ordeal sharp or long, or both, we shall seek no terms, we shall tolerate no parlay; we may show mercy – we shall ask for none.

Eve University, what can I say about them that has not already been said by so many others before me.  They are good for Eve, good for the hordes of new players who pass through their doors, and partake in the lectures and classes offered by their instructors.  Many go on to be productive members of society on Tranquility, others take up less salubrious roles, even more just shoot npc's all day in some mindless quest for isk. Then of course there are those who mine.

Despite all the good, in the minds of many something about Eve University does not ring true, could it be the cult like way ex-members talk about them, or could it be the non-aggressive stance they take, in a world wrought by war and terror? Yes, it is that exactly.  How can an entity that tries so hard to be good for Tranquility, be so opposed to the basic fact of life here: People die, often in explosions.

However, it seems that for some time all has not been right within the sheltered halls of Eve University, people have been questioning their non-aggressive stance, been wanting to know exactly why they wave the white flag when attacked, why they dock in their stations and refuse to come out, why with their numbers can they not fight!  And so they took the decision to fight, and to take that fight to some of the best and brightest in the Empire controlled area's of Tranquility.

Best, being Red Federation & Blue Republic.

When we heard the war drums beating for the upcoming conflict, both sides rapidly started gearing up and putting our plans in motion, including a combined fleet that would roll down to their space and punch them in the face repeatedly, for having the audacity to challenge US!

Cue a day spent gathering intel and forming a fleet, which when it did roll out was amazing to see, nearly 100 Red and Blue pilots working well together and moving as only a well oiled machine should. After a small stop to reship in Hek, we moved onwards towards Aldrat, having heard that the Eve University defence fleet had annihilated a smaller, but stronger (on paper) fleet from another group who they had challenged to a war.

Quote
Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy

Fleet was split at this news with much doomsaying from several of the fleet, however I as Fleet Commander knew that come what may our 15 Battleships, 35 Battlecruisers and myriad other supporting vessels would eventually win the day, once again demonstrating the superiority of Red & Blue over all challengers to be found in Empire space.

However there was the small matter of an insidious smell following us around as we endeavoured to pull the Eve University fleet out of Aldrat, it turned out that there was a spy (possibly more) in our fleet reporting everything we said and did to a neutral party who then fed all that information publically to Eve University in the local chat of Aldrat. So after bouncing back one system then changing tactic too fast for anyone to catch on, I ordered the destruction of the spies ship.

Suddenly, Eve University lost their will to even camp their own in gate and retreated to their POS.  It seems I had hit one nail on the head perfectly.  Using this mistake by their command, I order the Glorious RVB fleet, now numbering over 110 ships to jump into Aldrat and we immediately started hitting various safe spots in system, all the while demanding they speak to us, tell us why they chose us to have a war with, and then not fight us at all.

Eventually, the only reply they gave was a Raven un-docking from their headquarters and attacking a fleet member, which resulted in our fleet warping in and destroying said Raven, just as the entire Eve University fleet landed to try and save him.  Battle was brought.

Immediately I called several targets including various battleships and battlecruisers, wanting to get these heavy hitting vessels out of the fight early on - and having intel of my own, I knew several of their command would be flying such vessels.  Cut off the head and the body dies does it not?

And that worked, as I called more and targets, they fell faster and faster, eventually the Eve University fleet - what remained of it - bailed off their OWN headquarters and we were victorious.  Scoring the first victory against Tranquility's latest aggressors, despite the other forces arrayed against them.

Quote
It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.

All in all chaps, yesterday's OP was a huge success on so many levels, demonstrating what we can do when we put aside the nonsense that so often plagues our daily explosive interactions and are united by a common enemy.

I totally look forward to seeing us do as well, if not better in the future.

So yeah, Im fcing 8 gankeds over the holiday period for anyone still playing.... (I'll need a break from swtor and skyrim after all):

Quote
RVB Ganked: The Holiday Extravaganza!!
The holiday season is nearly upon us, which means plenty of beer and plenty of time for spaceships, which when combined result in hilarious explosions, and there is no better way to partake of these two wonderful gifts than an RVB Ganked roam.  Or several in a row!

Here is the program for the coming holidays:

19th November 2011 – Ganked 6: Judean People’s Front. The theme is lasers.  Preferably on Amarrian ships, but you can stick them on whatever.

26th November 2011 – Ganked 7: Get back in that kitchen. Anything you want to field, as long as it is battlecruiser sized or smaller.

10th December 2011 – Ganked 8: Viagra+Crucible=Penetration. Destroyer Hulls.  Post Crucible buffs.

17th December 2011 – Ganked 9: Chesnuts roasting on an open Fire(tail). Republic Fleet Firetails. Everywhere.

26th December 2001 – Ganked 10: Boxing Battleships. Will we get hotdropped? (if you cant/wont fly a BS come if anything else. Id prefer BS though.

7th January 2012 – Ganked 11: We’re going to need a bigger plane. Tier 3 Battlecruisers preferred.

14th January 2012 – Ganked 12: We come for our people. Rifter hulls. Because.

21st January 2012 – Ganked 13: Quack, Quack, Quack. Drakeswarm (and other assorted missile boats).

I will send round individual mails to the ingame mailing list “RVB Ganked” about these, as well as make posts for each on the RVB forums, and a post in the Ganked thread over on Failheap, as well as keep the RVB Ganked in-game channel updated. So guys, keep your eyes peeled, stock up on the beer and isk (isk=ships=explosions) and we will have a bloody good holiday!!!

Ganked 8: Go Deeper, Deeper!
(The aftermath of Ganked 8: Viagra+Crucible=Penetration)

The night started off as usual, I formed the fleet as early as I ever do, then moved a ship for an attendee who gets shot by the popo's every time he is in 1.0/0.9s.  Then I basically set my AP for the lowsec meetup and heading back to Rens, jumping repeatedly between 2 systems for 20minutes until I realised what I was doing (Following 1 yellow gate, then remembering and going back, then forgetting and following yellow gate again), this went down well on comms.

We actually got a good conga formed up in Rens - I wasnt at the front so probably a win right there.  However some stupid idiot tried to smartbomb (http://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/index.php/kill_detail/2157/) it, he failed as he totally did it the wrong way.

We moved out, picked up people along the way, then fleet scouted ourselves into GW and started moving around.  My plan had been to go GW>ER>Insomther>Scalding Pass>Curse and then sleep, although it didnt pan out that way.  While running through an emptier than usual GW, we killed a couple of fail (http://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/index.php/kill_detail/2167/) bombers (http://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/index.php/kill_detail/2166/), and then got word of a BC heavy gang following us.  After some random intel, it turns out to be Snigg, who are also on our comms - HAI VIMPLE!

(Chat log of a mostly one sided chat between vimple and myself because I was speaking on comms and through the magic of spais, he was answering me in chat:

They never came on after, but PuppyUK did sing Little Bees

Little Bees (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vfv1QtZDirY#ws)

to us before we warped in right on top of their sniper gang and killed stuff (http://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/index.php/kill_related/2173/). Lesson I learned here, do not ever try and be sneaky on comms, people tend to ruin it... Gather on Mang, he is in the bubble on the gate.. "Its not on the gate" :S

We then moved on towards ER, however CCP said they were leaving from Polaris in another event fleet and the target was Syndicate, so we burned at best speed, gathered more folks and piled into Syndicate, and after much mucking about got BOMBERED all over the place, just as we engaged CCP :)

It was brilliant, following that we rolled again, and just dribbled in, and generally whored on what we could before dieing.

Then suddenly it was 2am and it was over, 5hrs of hilarity and great fun, good comms chatter, fun fights without too much crap.  Really really good. Longest night so far, most kills and most isk damage done too (http://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/?a=cc_detail&ctr_id=13&view=kills).

Depends which corp you applied too and who of the various folks who can accept are on. (I switched back to blue but havent asked for roles yet so I cant do it for blue), sometimes it can be as much as day.  Just spam the R-V-B if you are really eager ;)

Eager... well more like bored out of my skull... Hate having nothing to do and I'm really really really not going to run missions.

and i joined blue. (or tried) but i'll guess i'll wait until tomorrow before making a fuss.

We couldve taken that titan.

Seriously.

All we needed was 1 squad to force the carrier back in initially - not all of us as I called it - and the rest of keep up deeps on the thing.  60% armour with a ragtag band of bc's and stuff, its pretty sweet.

Thats assuming they wouldn't have popped triage on the carriers...

Hmm been thinking a bit. If we could have gotten them to pop triage the only armour rep bonused carriers they had there were the crappy nids. (at least I can't remember having seen any other right now)
So had we been able to force them to use triage on one of them it isn't impossible we would have been able to kill a carrier.

They didnt at all - Elise's titan was cap fit (recharging after a jump) according to him on Twitter.  The carriers seemed to be trying to tfr cap rather than rep so he could bail if necessary.

A bit weird they didn't focus all fire at me from the carriers/supercarriers given our complete lack of logis I would've gone down fairly fast and the titan would be free.
Next time I'll make sure to have a cyno on the ship :P

Quite fun reading the comments on the youtube clip.
Lots of people seem mad we had the audacity to attack without having a chance haha (given we KNEW we were going to die anyway).

EVE is still fun for me folks - mainly due to Ganked.  Below is my write up of Sundays fun:

Let me tell you managing 220 people, some of whom have never flown together, some of whom have never flown in anger, is an experience.

Yes folks, it was Ganked 15: All Back of the Bus last-night and it was a memorable one.

First off we had advertised the roam on the EVE sub-reddit and it had also been arranged that EVE Radio would be in attendance, as a result we opened up the fleet to the listeners of Tranquillity's premier radio station, which resulted in over 220 in fleet at its peak.  Which was a glorious sight, especially as 90% actually turned up in the hulls suggested by myself: Brutix, Cyclone, Ferox & Prophecy.

We managed to leave Rens back on time - and hit the low sec meetup to grab our blinkies, then piled into Great Wildlands and moved down towards Curse, with not much happening along the way, until we get into K-B2D3 where there was a large gang featuring Machariels!

It was here that the size of the fleet, the general unruliness of comms and my obvious sobriety came into play, with a total clusterf*** resulting from messed up fleet warps, to scouts calling stuff for other scouts to bits of the fleet trying to be warpins - and failing; we did score some kills, but lost a fair few folks along the way while doing so. But thems the breaks I suppose. I know now that my limit for "command" is around 150 at most for a Ganked, maybe 100 for more serious affairs.

And so we moved on, having realised that -A- had retaken HED-GP and are usually good for the under the shirt, over the bra action we all really craved we headed there.  Your's truly decloaked first when we jumped into a gang of Zealots off a gate, luckily House2Twist took the reigns again and did a marvellous job from then on including a good fight in HED itself.  Awesome work as ever!

By this time the fleet had dwindled downwards to much more manageable numbers, however apparently there was a sporting event in the USofA and many folks logged to prep for that. The best of us stayed on and ventured through Querious and into Delve, were we messed up some locals - we hoped they would bring friends but they didnt. Since we had not yet died, we decided to visit Test again, this time we went to Fountain.  Took us some time, and some local spam, but the locals agreed to fight us.
We who are about to die salute you!

Except we did not die, we fought a drake heavy gang with logi support that jumped into us, and won. Well that was a new one for us.

DJ Khaled "All I Do Is Win" feat. Ludacris, Rick Ross, T-Pain & Snoop Dogg / Victory In Stores Now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGXzlRoNtHU#ws)

Suddenly it was 2am and we meandered out of Fountain and through Aridia and into high sec space again, 30+ of the original 220+ left standing, having roamed over 100 jumps from the south east corner of empire to the north west corner of null, taking over 100 names along the way.

Overall a brilliant night as ever, very messy early on, but that improved along the way, and I know I need to drink more at the start of the nights now...

So not only did we get a splash screen advert last weekend.

We got a eve news article from ccp too:

Which hasnt helped my OMG admin stress levels this week in EVE.

Apart from [urlhttp://rvbganked.co.uk/kills/?a=cc_detail&ctr_id=27&view=kills]ganked lastnight[/url] (Drone regions are so bloody boring btw), ive gotten 1 kill all weekend due to admin and bloody slacker americans not doing apps :S Oh and 50 mails about overviews...

Still its all good fun.

It does look that way doesn't it.

Not sure why but I tend to fall into such roles no matter how much I try to avoid it.

In RVB its easy to do mind as people see your age in corp + character age and its "fount of all knowledge/making of explosions" ;)
