Warhammer Online / Re: Warrior Priest - So misunderstood!
« on: October 08, 2008, 02:18:56 PM »
Nice summary of daily WP life Invicta.
I have a WP main but I am only at lvl 18 at the moment so I don't have any great aoe heals yet. I am sure the WP mechanics will be better understood with time. WP healing is a lot about anticipation of who will need heals because as you say if someone is taken heavy damage we cannot save them. In some ways it is like druid raid healing in WoW except that we need to hit things to get our "mana".
I find I use Supplication a lot in scenarios early in the Tiers when I am squishy. I tend to be more useful doing heal-supplication-heal than repeatedly die at the front. Retreats are as you say awful. You are normally totally out of RF and there is no time to stop. Depending on the numbers chasing you and your current health one could try the aggro reduction ability followed by a Supplication. I usually run until I can do a more safe supplication.
Well, I am looking forward to getting all those nice abilities you talk about and like you, I love my WP  ;)

Warhammer Online / Re: WAR guild calendar times

Thanks for this info. I have been wondering about that. I also only yesterday found out (Beo in guild chat) that anyone can start an event in the calendar. I will start to use this feature.

Are you sure this is LibSlash? I have it installed and it doesn't happen to me. Maybe it is in combination with another addon?

Nice work Beo, I am looking forward to wearing the cloak. I voted 6 and 8. No. 2 is very similar to no. 8 so that would be ok as well. Not that we had three votes but....
I think brown-yellow will be a more unusual choice and that is why it got my vote.

Warhammer Online / Re: WAR PC spec
« on: October 07, 2008, 09:00:06 AM »
Last I heard Kurtt say, the game still runs like a hamster in a heap of shit on an uber machine on full specs.
So if that's your only intention, don't get your hopes up.

Nah it will run smoothly on a well specced machine. I don't have the slightest hint of FPS lag on mine, even in busy keeps / scenarios.
....

This is an interesting thread on game vs pc performance. I often have awfully chunky movements in tight scenarios and especially the other day while RvR fighting in the keep. It doesn't really matter if I turn down the graphic settings. The one difference I am quite sure has an effect is windowed vs. full screen, but then only in scenarios, never while soloing. I will try the buff addon and see if that makes a difference. Is there a good way of telling where the bottle neck is?
I don't remember my pc spec and the only performance indicator I can think of is WoW, which may not mean much to some of you, anyway I have 40-50fps at full graphic setting. In Shatt and during some 25-man raiding encounters it could go down to 20 but never lower. In WoW I have a steady 200ms response time.
It all boils down to:
- is it the game or something server side; something that may be fixed with patches?
- bad response time, isp issues?
- my computer?
We have people saying they have no lag what so ever even in Keep battles and some who have good PCs but still have a chunky game performance. It may well be a combo of issues but I would like to hear from more people. I will start to monitor my fps as well, is there an addon for fps and response time yet?

The Dog & Duck / RL pics
« on: October 06, 2008, 09:46:37 AM »
Isn't it time to start a RL pic thread?
Since we will slow down recruitment and settle in, as it was put, I thought why not present myself. To me, putting a face or some background facts like hobbies, job etc to an in game character is a very good way of building a community feeling. It is not for everyone of course which I respect.
I was born in 1959 in the north of Sweden and spent my youth in this snowy landscape skiing, fishing and doing other outdoors activities. For quite a few years I was a lot into sled dogs which may be exotic in this community. I have also played volleyball since my youth and I still participate in beach volley tournaments. I am married and have three children of which the two oldest are at universities in Britain. I have a PhD in Chemistry and currently work as a research scientist in Belgium.
WoW was my first MMO. I have also tried Tabula Rasa, LotRO and Conan but none of them clicked with me. So my online life has for the last two and a half years been WoW. A month or so ago I started to feel really fed up with WoW so I was eagerly awaiting WAR and so far it has more than met my expectations. Other hobbies I have are cycling, boardgames, computers and our two dogs. If you want to chat or whisper me I speak Swedish, Dutch or English and some other languages on an understanding basis only.
For those ex-wowers that still care, these were my two main chars: Medeba and Eljas

Ok, some RL pics then:

I am the guy with the sun glasses.

Hiking in the Swedish mountains together with my oldest son.

Skiing is something I and the family like to do. This is my wife in the Italian alps in February this year.

Thanks, works now. I don't know what I did wrong. Some spelling problem I guess.

I use this addon as well. It is great, for a WAR addon. I wish you could make a macro and get a button-click switch of gear. Well, at least I didn't get that to work.

Join Us / Re: Warrior Priest application
« on: October 04, 2008, 06:19:44 AM »
I noticed that after registering on the forums I had access to much more content and then I found some mission/vision stuff that I previously only could deduct from application posts or member/officer posts on the Warhammer Alliance forum.
Anyway, thanks for the invite. I had a nice relaxed evening yesterday, doing T2 Scenarios with some of you guys. I am looking forward to lots of fun in HoJ.
