EVE Online / Re: An i mad?
« on: September 09, 2016, 05:36:12 AM »
Pandemic Horde was suggested to from another EVE player too. Have to look that up :)  First I have to see though how the alpha clones play (which skills can be used, will there be action for on-off players, etc).

With EVE going (kinda) free to play, I am seriosly considering resubbing now to get my skills up to date, and then try to get myself into RvsB for some frigate/destroyer/cruiser PvP.

I was in a wormhole corpo a couple years ago, but I got burned (too much, too fast). Been occasionally playing EVE on and off now and then, but haven't felt the amount of time I have been able to divert to the game is a justification for the monthly fee. Come November, and I don't have to feel a pressure to play because I pay, but can play when I want :)

I still have my toon on STO somewhere. Are the Klingons or Romulans available to all player, or do they require some DLC to be bought? Alternatively, can Federation players do stuff together with Klingons/Romulans now?

Last graphics update? Dunno. At least they are not using EGA graphics anymore; the game was updated to 800x600 VGA true-colours several years ago ;)  But you don't play the game for the gfx, but for the incredible depht of the game. It is not an easy game, the UI is archaic, and the less said about the gfx the better.

Everything in the game can be used for something, and most likely to stuff you didn't even think of first (like for example, I encountered a sleeping hunter, sneaked close by and stabbed him in the back until I was sure he wouldn't move anymore; he had some nice gear, but his shirt and cloak sadly were ripped (some bastard apparently had stabbed him with a knife in the back...) so I stripped the shirt to cords, those cords I used to build myself a bow and a couple arrows and did repair the cloak). Freedom like seen in very few games (in the league of EVE and DayZ regarding freedom to do what ever you want)  and the area is big enough that it would take *very* long time to explore it all. You can choose yourself if you want to be a hunter, a trapper, a fisherman, a cannibal, a farmer, a robber or any possible combo from those. The main thing is that you need to stock up food and you need shelter because winter is coming (if you don't have some sort of cabin with a fire-place (and lots of firewood stocked up) when the temperature hits -30 degrees, well, you can kiss your butt goodbye).

Still playing World of Tanks and Dominions 3, and now also the RP-game UnReal World (which went free to play now that it has been constantly updated for over 20 years; I used to play it back in 2000 or 2001, but had totally forgotten about this little gem over the years, damn great to see it is *still* recieving updates regularily :)).

World of Tanks is still the game I play pretty much every night (I've now been in the "semi-hardcore" ClanWars clan MARS for a bit over a year; the shady dealings, allaincesm backstabbs, robbing clan assets, etc, well they certainly attempt to mimic the stuff going on in EVE :p ). Also some SWTOR now and then (as it is free to play), Blood Bowl (of course), FTL, and various Paradox games.

EVE Online / Handing over my account
« on: December 17, 2012, 07:36:51 AM »
My EVE account has been inactive for a year or two I think. During the weekend my nephew was here, and we did talk about EVE. He had last week started playing EVE, and was asking for advice. As I remember practically nothing, I said I'll handle him my EVE account (and actually did pay for a month to show what stuff Swuul has) to him as a Christmas present (yeah, I know, I am pretty cheap :p ).

As such I think Swuul should leave Maadim, as Swuul will not be me in a few days. Is there something spesific I should take into consideration when leaving Maadim, some stuff or ISK or something else I should hand back (I can't for the life of me remember if I have Maadim stuff "on loan" from Corps hangars...)?

Mostly World of Tanks, with some Mount&Blade:Nappy matches occasionally.

I wonder why there are no Swedish guilds up there. We've got all these socialist thingies that allows you to survive without a job for years. You might not be wealthy but you get by.
It's the Swedish way of not getting anything done unless it is first discussed in a committee. For a few years, if possible. I am not claiming it is not producing *very* good results in the long run (because often it is), but when things need to be get done *now and here*, then it is a problem. Notice that I have lived in Sweden for ~15 years, so I have some first hand experience in this "diskutera, diskutera, diskutera" -culture  ;)

Getting a decission from a Swedish person is like watching paint dry: It is bound to happen sometime if you just have the patience of a stone, but afterwards you won't be able to tell when exactly it happened.

Grats! :)

Also, Murderball? They're stealing PVP ideas from a game still in beta?
WAR is still in beta? Ok, so yes, I think you could say that. But Rift has Murderball too, and that ain't in beta.

Thing is, Murderball is fun. Blizzard makes money by copying fun stuff from other games.

Oh btw Kurtt (and the rest), I am also in TLA in LOTRO, just as I have toons in HoJ too :)  I spend most of my LOTRO time on the toons in TLA, so no wonder if you don't remember me anymore ;)

I do have a dirty little secret though... Please don't kill me, but I think I won't be playing SWTOR  ???  I am honestly not that impressed by what I've read so far. Sorry  :-[

Grats :)

I did hate Mirkwood on my burglar, every second mob there have an aura that does a minimal DoT. Other classes won't likely even notice the miniscule dot, but it is enough to pop a burg out of stealth  :(

Evendim on the other hand was/is nice. Lots of space, sun is shining, hobbits with beard and boots, what else could a man ask for?

Yeah, sorry, didn't know about that :(   It just sounded like a silly "Freudian slip" such as I sprout all the time...  :-[
