I thought it was excellent and a real return to form for tarantino in my opinion second to resevoir dogs only (always felt pulp ficion was overrated, kill bills ok, jackie brown is crap and death box or whatever its called equally shite).

Death Proof is where I realised Tarantino is allowed to make absolutely any movie he wants. Who else would even try to do what he was doing with the first half of the movie? That bit's normally ten minutes long at most. I appreciate it the way I appreciate Cloverfield, as a sort of storytelling concept. Novel, but doesn't necessarily have to be done twice.

Oh I don't know. I watched the end of a movie last night that had a gang of rednecks shooting arrows at machine-gun wielding mobsters in a cemetary.

"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

I liked Cloverfield.  However, the shaky cam view did make me nauseous.  I would have preferred something more District 9.

I've seen a few of those.

How is Battlefield Earth not on that list?

How is Battlefield Earth not on that list?

The Church of Scientology sued them into removing it?

The list isnt necessarily the worst, just those with the least votes on IMDB.

Look thru the top 250 and you can probably find some that SHOULD be in a list of the worst :)

I went to see Basterds last night and I enjoyed it a lot. Every 'Chapter' went down well and even though the beginning of the movie is quite uneventful and 'boring', there was some great tension being built up.

Only things I didn't like was:

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoilers content.

But all in all, good stuff.

Watched GI Joe afterwards... dunno what to say about that one... Alright I guess. Can't expect much depth from that one. Nice CGI, plenty of bad one liners, shouldn't have had Wayans in it, he has just built up an image that's too goofy. I'm happier with the way they modernised GI Joe than the way they modernised Transformers. It felt Joe-ish, even though there wasn't a single Go Joe! in it.

Daikini of the House Goat, the First of His Name, The Unmilked, Queen of the Meadow, The Chickens and the Pigs, Queen of the Field, Nibbler of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Wub, Lady Regent of the Seven Barns, Breaker of Fences and Mother of Ducklings.
