General Gaming / Re: The Warhammer 40K Thread

I have a fully painted Necron army and currently working on a hefy Tau force. Played my first Apocalypse game at the weekend with 4 mates, good larf. Used to play WHFB too but cash flow issues, lack of time and to be honest brain space trying to remember different rule sets I jacked it in in favour of 40k. Plus I know more folk that play that. Also dabble in GW's Lord of the Rings Game too. Have a fully realised Helms Deep model I made for it.

Will upload pics if someone can guide me on how/hosting site etc?

I noticed the IC leveled to 2 last night when I was playing. The Destro boys must be fairly going at it.

So we're definately staying on Hirn then? Hope so cos I told my mate to joint hat server if he ever installs the game and hopefully get him to join the guild too.

Never had one myself just noticed we seemed to lose both after a while and they werent replaced.

Just think though these are the "easy" keeps with just the one gate, later on dunno if it's tier 3 they get an outer wall as well that you have to get past first.

Still good fun and some thing I was keen to see in game.

I never PvP'd much in the other MMO's I played but in this game it just seems so natural and fun. Almost to the point of being more addictive than doing quests. Maybe it's the bolster thing and the fact you can do it from day one has helped.

Well sadly mine is the same as my forum ID. Enjoy my attempts at Serenity from Firefly and a Cylon Raider among other things.

So being a fan of the books I heard that the characters appear in Altdorf so before I logged last night I scourded every pub in Altdorf to no avail but one of them (The screaming cat or something) was closed.

Anyway finally found out it doesnt open up until the city gets higher ranked and the characters appear at Rank 5 for the city. They then dish out quests supposedly. However one other site said they were in the Mastiff but as the other place was closed it makes more sense that they'll be in there when it opens up.

I'm assuming the city rank goes up based on which side is winning the overall RVR.

Take more siege weapons I reckon. My biggest issue was all the guys on the battlements either being just out of range or being out of line of sight when I was in range. Made working as an engineer a bit hard. Mostly ended up killing the spawns that kept appearing outside. Maybe if I got my grubby mits on a cannon or too I'd be sorted. :)

4gb myself but the lag was tremendous last night when we were assaulting that keep. More likely to do with bandwidth handling all those players in one spot as much as the system. I even turned temporarily to fastest setting instead of balanced in the settings while there but did very little.

We should share our spore ID's it means you can add folk as buddies in game and increase the chances of seeing their stuff in game. Also means you can view easily what others have created.

Quite amusing when out and about in your spaceship and come across your mates creatures or ships then get to annihilate them. ;)

That's fantastic, nice bit of game fluff but also lets us know thier doing at the same time.

Played Pirates of the Burning Crusade for a wee while and liked a feature they had where when you put a spammer on your ignore list it automatically reported them at the same time if you chose the correct option. Can't see that the accounts for these people wuld have been lasting long with everyone doing that to them.

Oh and this is my first post.  ;D
