From experience with GOA I would say you have hit the dreaded "invoice pending" which can last 24 hrs when you resub.

I think last time this game up in /gu someone suggested AP regen as this is useful to everyone, and at the time i thought that was a good idea. Its non specific and can be useful no matter where it is plonked (technical term..plonked)

I want to love White Lions but I find the lion way too hard to control. Mind you I haven't macro'd commands yet. I did install the loyal pet addon, but as I use right click to move the dratted cat was attacking stuff left right and centre. Apparently enabling the fast cast on loyal pet really helps their dps. I have no idea cos I don;t crunch numbers!

I will give it another go:-)

Sylvan Blades are known to myself and Nabal as they were a guild from our old server, and I have an old guildy in there. The head people are fine, I think they just grew a bit fast and picked up some baggage on the way.

Another guild you might want to look at is Soul Pact, I hear they are just starting on our server. They are a also from my old server, and a very respected guild indeed. Has older people in it, and are not growing too fast. I suspect they are not as casual as us, as before they were very active in RvR, but as time mellows all men I suspect they will have as well. I believe Tenpit is a gm. They will have a pvp/RvR slant.

I think no matter who you go into an alliance with you do need to get some rules sorted out first.

Firstly, what are going to be the rules for alliance chat? Usually full members have read and talk access, but I have seen instances where 2 guilds with different outlooks on what was approriate had difficulties when it came to spamming /as with drivel. So sort out what alliance chat is going to be used for (just information regarding rvr, just sorting out general PvE/PvP groups, or a social channel as well).

Secondly you then need to sort out what happens if people DO abuse /as. Usually they just get the right to talk in it taken away:-) but thats something you need to sort out first. You don;t want people complaining about each other in alliance chat, so get rules regarding problems with other guilds members sorted as well. I know this all sounds very serious, but it will happen, so it is best to get an agreed way of dealing with it.

You can;t really get the background of all their members (I am looking at YOU Beo :-)) as long as you both know what the alliance is for and what you want to see happen in the common chat channels, you have a good start! I think it is important that the two gms see eye to eye on the above points, and have a good working relationship.

Once you have an alliance up and running, others will see it and then it can start to grow. Having a strong idea from the outset of the type of alliance (pure rvr only, social, PvE etc) will make it easier.

Just my two pence, I used to go to alliance meetings in lieu of my old DAoC guild, so kinda know how these things worked back then, but ofc, things may be different now.(nah its the same hehe)
Edit: Also it is worth sorting out who decides stuff or if it is purely a democatic alliance, eg what if one of the guilds fancies another guild joining.....do all guilds get to vote, what if only one says no? Its really worth thinking about stuff like that.

I have only been in the guild a little while so feel a bit funny about saying something like this, but I am not particulaly keen on any of the above. I just wanted to say that so if I mentioned it later no one would say I should have voted:-)

Don't take it personally, I don't! :D

Happy voting to everyone else.

General Gaming / Re: What other MMO's have you played?
« on: October 11, 2008, 10:48:21 PM »
My First MMO was Asherons call many years ago, I was very very noobie, but I still loved the monthly content patches with the changeing seasons that it brought to the game, plus we got snowmen! I also learnt the very very wise mantra, NEVER do ANYTHING IMPORTANT on PATCH DAY!!

I am not sure what I played next, erm think it might have been AC2, bit of Horizons, beta tested Saga of Rhyzom. Over the years I have also dabbled in CoH, LotRO. Oh I played the heck out of Phantasy star online on the dreamcast too!

My big MMo love was DAoC, to me that was a perfect place and I can still mentally walk from one end of Hibernia to the other. I think that place will stay with me forever. it tought me about socialising in game, and how great people can be. I was an officer in the guild Iron Wolves, I still keep our guild foprums open, but sadly, over the years people have diverged somewhat, and its a shame.I also learnt how to set a mean Ground target under fire:-) Sadly there were several BIG mistakes made by GOA and also by Requiel (Yes I am still bitter hehe)and after those we lost a lot of people, and an RvR game needs a certain population. Last I heard my old server had 5 people on it.

So I played WoW... I mean who hasn't? I was asked to help start a friendly casual guild at lvl 3, so nabs and I helped out and .... we ended up as senior officers in the second highest advanced raiding guild on the server. Big change from DAoC and after a couple of years I had burnt out completely. Being healing officer in raids plus healing, plus a lot of other things I am sure you are all aware of really killed any fun, and I turned into the bitch from hell, which I am not and I hated it:-) Nabs and I left when the expansion came out and never looked back.

So thats my gaming history:-) The members of my old DAoC guild are playing WAR on  8Peaks with a load of old prydwenites, We came here cos we got the wrong server hehe BUT we intend to stay here, as you can;t keep reliving the past!

edit:-) Knew I would forget one... Pirates of the burning sea, best thing about that was the ability to have guild sails, I designed one for our guild, Iron wolves, it looked nice, sadly the game was horrible:-)

I have seen screenshots of the cut out V, and I have seen the pointed V in game, and the pointed V is the same length as the other cloaks.

I have my favourite:-)

Hi All,
I just wanted people to be aware of the issues of cloak shape and banner shape. I have mentioned this before, but not seen anyone else comment so thought I would point it out again :P

http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144306

Basically the bottom of the banner that can be different shapes also is seen in the cloaks, so if you choose an inverted V shape for your banner, your guild cloaks will be cut out at the bottom in an inverted V. Same for the other shapes so think hard about that shape!

Just FYI, there is a post on the warhammer alliance forums which showed that if you chose Number 5 as a standard, then the bottom of the guild cloaks are currently also coming out that shape.

I am not sure if it is a bug, but it certainly raised a few eyebrows in the guild that chose it:-)
