Hurricane 0.0 ratting setup

Trying to plan ahead (considering the market in fountain might not be like jita hehe) I was trying to figure out how to set up my cane for being able to take care of the rats in Fountain. I'm not sure which kind it might be but from what I managed to gather it is Serpentis (please do correct me if I'm wrong) which means I plan around a 50/50 therm/em dps to tank against.

After a bit of help from rubino I made this setup.

dps: 126 with 880 volley (alpha??) and 13km optimal (yup sucks I know)
speed: 433

Would this setup be good enough to deal with the rats? (about 2 days training to be able to use the hardeners)

dps: 126, 880 volley but 16km optimal
speed: 198

So any ideas??
(the hardeners would of course be switched to the appropriate ones if something else than em/therm if needed)

Edit: seems I read the damange wrong hehe should be thermal/kinetic :) which makes a rather largish difference as the cane has rather bad kinetic resistance on the armour :( 159 dps tank insted of the 211 so have changed the setups to the appropriate ones.

I don't know how much money is a problem, but there are some other modules to squeeze a bit more out of it.

for instance:
- 'scout' guns in stead of prototypes
- counterbalanced weapon mounts I as gyrostabilizer
- internal force field array as damage control

Aye - as Saf mentions keep it cheaper - the isk you are pulling in in 0.0 ratting can far outweigh the cost of a cheaper setup should it be lost. However its hard to suggest that without knowing the fountain markets (I'd imagine Meta Level 4 T1 stuff will not be cheap, maybe looking at 20% over empire possibly?).

IIRC the internal forcefield array costs 4 million or so and the guns something 2-3 a pop both currently out of my budget.

As for buying stuff in fountain, not going to do that much if I have money. I'd rather spend some time moving stuff from jita to there when needed.

anyway, i dont know how to make this neat text copy paste from EFT and I dont feel like photoshopping and uploading and linking the screenie, but i got some setup with 38k EHP, not as capstable, but with higher damage output: 217 dps (incl. drones, excl. reload) and an alpha of 1209.
IMHO capstability isnt so much of an issue while ratting, cause you will seldom be in 20 minutes battles.
feel free to slap my wrist on this one though.

UGH, internal force field array is ~30M in the Forge  *cough*
nm that

counterbalanced gyrothingy: 0.5M: i'd say yes!
about the scouts: yup, they are much more expensive and mebbe not worth the bit of extra dps, i just got used to my guns being more expensive than my ship  :D
so unless im in a boat im sure i'll loose fast, i fit em.
so, if spending 20M more can give 10% dps more, all you have to ask yourself is: is it worth it?
i'd say: depends on how long you think you'll keep your ship.

and to spam you guys silly even more: dont worry too much about optimal. minmatar are just not that much about optimal (go ahead guys), but more about the falloff...
and loading different ammo will extend optimal too btw, as EMP has a -50% or so optimal modifier

The optimal etc stated is from phased plasma which is the best thermal dps ammo and from what I can see would be the best to do damage to serpentis.

While I know it's harder in terms of skills - the T2 option to the fittings will reduce cost a lot.

One way of prioritising skills is to shift those that will give you the cheaper T2 modules vs the most expensive named modules - ie Damage Control II (Hull Upgrade 4) Costing 700k vs Internal Force Field Array @ 30m

dont get the ehp you got, and not capstable (~ 6 mins) but whatever...
would you think this setup would work for AC too?

hmm, rebuild it in EFT with the best modules, but dont get near your ehp or tank-dps (also tried with same mods ofc). you sure those numbers are right?
