Agony is back from our tourney break!
We're kicking off with two BASIC classes:
- Thursday July 1st @19:00 eve time
- Friday July 2nd @00:30 eve time (Thursday evening NA time)
These classes will have then join together on Saturday July 3rd @21:00 eve time to tear up some space in a combined roam!
Enrollment for these classes will open on the 24th/25th June at 19:00 and 00:30 respectively.

gratz to both rex and mang though to the other kills you got, quite some nice ones among em. I've never seen a Ashimu for one, plus 3 of the most expensive kills of last 2 weeks are among em :)

Because I was originally not going to be in country for yesterdays Basic roam I never signed up - looks like it was fun.
However I did manage to sign up for the Wolfpack class+roam in 2 weeks. Looking forward to it too from a read of the course mats, and I get to play in my favourite destroyer!!!

This is the very reason I love to live in the bushes. Our 300m2 house (built in 2002) did cost a bit under 400k euros, at the same price one of my sisters bought from Helsinki a 78m2 apartment built in 1989 ???
Houses and apartments in the Nordic countries are quite a bit more expensive than than buildings in Netherlands or England. But at least the balls won't freeze in the house immediatly when it gets to zero degrees Celsius outside. For example the English single glass windows... words fail to describe them when one is used to triple glass windows :p But the downside is that building houses is freaking expensive, and in the more crowded areas (like where Peo's "shack" most likely is) the prices get insane.

And (in Holland anyways) double glazing being used already. Since 40 years or so :D
Our (1930's) house also has double glazing, bar two small windows (which we will have replaced by doubles in the next couple of years).
As for triple glazing... yeah... ok... useful... especially when it regularly gets below -30 C (i.e. not likely to happen here).
But then again, central heating -> no balls freezing off ever. ;)

An Agony FLYBY course has not been hosted in a great while(2008-9), this changes in February, see you there!
Flyby sniping is an advanced technique using destroyers or larger ships to attack other fleets at distance without subjecting the fleet to significant risk. This seminar will teach you the technique, how to lead the gang, and determine the right time and place to use the tactic.

The goal of PVP-FLYBYS is to provide you with the skills and confidence required to fly as part of and lead a successful PVP Sniping gang.

Despite me asking the Agony folks to change signup time to a more EU-convenient time, it seems they won't change it for this particular class.
The only option I see now is to give my forum details to someone who doesnt sleep at 0200 ET and ask him to subscribe for me, if possible. Rex? Mang? (Mang doesnt sleep, ever, right?)

I have to say I'm quite impressed with the documentation Agony has set up concerning FLYBY and it has me quite enthusiastic about trying it out as an FC myself. As soon as I've familiarized myself with our new surroundings in 0.0 I'll get busy making BMs at regularly camped gates and hope to get a few good fleets going.
Mang, it's quite a bit different from what you appear to have tried with RedFed and hope you'll join me on such an op soon(TM). And the rest of you ofc!
(Just as I'm looking forward to you (Jon) leading some fleets with all the xp you've gained while in RvB!)
The tactic uses a ingenious set of bookmarks and doesnt necessarily just concern dessies, but can just as well use cruiserhulls and even BSs. Moreover there is the possibility of using various flavours of mixed fleets. I expect it to be OSOM!

The class was well about bringing the theory in practice, which didnt include any shooting this time, however because the theory was so good, the class was very decent too.
On top of that, we learned a few extra things here and there, for example how to warp a fleet at > 0, which at first glance isnt possible in EvE. But it is.
Still doubting if I will ninja their (copyrighted) class material to this forum. It really is a good read.

As many of you know, Agony has recently been spending some time in the north, during which time we've had the opportunity to explore some new gang types designed for larger groups. As a result of this, I present you with a new class!
Right now we're planning to run this as a one-off to see how well it works out. If it's successful, we'll hopefully make it a more regular thing. What's more, the first run of this class is open to everybody (even those who haven't taken PVP-BASIC) and is COMPLETELY FREE!
Since this is just a trial, this class has a very limited number of spaces, and we expect it to fill very quickly. We will be operating on a strictly first come, first serves basis.

I updated my Sig on the Agony forums with the Fake Drake swarm class as if I have graduated from it.
Too bad its at the Same time Beth has called the Drunken SB Alliance roam. Well it is actually 3 hours earlier, so it is theoretically possible to attend both. Hmmm. I think I will do both. Just need to time my jump clones right.
