I read the PC Gamer review and they only gave it an 82%, Still going to get the actual game and play it through, but not going to put it above Empire TW for an MP fix now :)
-
Downloading the public beta now - its free so cant hurt to do so :)
(Anyone without Steam, get it and do this too, then you can join our Steam Group!)

Ive been playing this the past few days, its a totally different game concept a few niggly bugs still present but im looking forward to the actual release

And.... it is awesome
single player campaign is amazing (and available in co-op)
Multiplayer is ok but theres better out there :)
-
I take it this is worth it for SP alone then?

Yup its definetly worth it SP wise
-
I just bought this today :)
Currently installing it, then I'll try out SP - will look out for people for Co-op or MP etc :D
-
Haven't played it in a while, but do agree that the single player campaign rocks.
-
Sp rocks MP is alright but flawed IMHO.
recently reinstalled it myself and trying to figure out how to get all my freebies again was hard on the brain, windows live suxxor :)
-
Strange. I recently bought the game as well, but while I loved the DoW I campaign - well, the dark crusade "campaign" most of all tbh, the DoW2 campaign doesn't quite cut it for me.
Perhaps it's just that I"m not a huge space marine fan (Orc! Orc! Orc! or Eldar! Eldar! Eldar! or even Imperial Guard instead...) but I'm finding the campaign rather one-dimensional up till now (first 7 missions played or so)
Also, does the game only allow 4 (5?) squads to be controlled in MP as well, without options like constructing buildings? The game feels quite simple so far (use cover, have squads cover each other's asses and go back to these radar-antenna points regularly to have your units returned to full strength)
-
Campaigns ok, but the game itself is annoying me.
I play it windowed and it still forces me to "live" within the area of the window whereas other steam games, my mouse can wander outside that window. However with DOW2 I have to tab away from its window, then when i try to go back I have to forcefully crash it and start it up again :(

Expansion incoming
Chaos rising (http://www.dawnofwar2.com/uk/home)

DOW 2: Retribution is out soon - the Multiplayer Beta is currently open on steam to anyone with a DoW game installed on that platform.
Retributions highlight (for me is the Imperial Guard!):

They are awesome, troopers can build las turrets and put down their own cover :) (in mp anyways)
