Idea: Low Sec Mining Op
« on: February 12, 2009, 09:11:56 AM »
We discussed this during lastnights roam after people commented how quiet some of the low sec we travelled through actually was.

SO who would be interested in a low sec mining op - not in areas close to were we live, but in the quieter regions (i'll be scouting in the next week or so)?

We go down with orca's, mining vessls and combat protection and spend some time making the miners happy with huge rocks :)

Right now this is an idea and here for discussion, so if you have thoughts or suggestions then fire away.

I think it is a good idea  (since I came up with it hehe) and of course I'll join. Can't mine but can always run interference (tackle or kill if i'm in a larger ship) against something that might try to shoot us :)

While they can be quiet - the roaming gank squads are a problem in low-sec.
But I would be happy to park & cloak Red in his carrier somewhere in system and assign fighters should there be a need.

There's also the option of moving the KASEI POS to the system.  It would provide safe harbour, boost the lab copy/research speed but be more painful for logistics.

Ill be happy to go. Probably with 2 miners as my combat characters arnt really good enough yet (and i think i might have issues if the wheel falls off and im trying to control 3 characters using 2 screens  ::)  )

Just to get an idea, to be reasonably "safe" from loosing more than we gain from this kind of op. What kind of escort do we need?

If you're going to that effort, you should go out to the ORE space; there are still roaming gank squads to be aware of, but with everyone in Delve, it might be quiet enough to get some mining done.

4C-B7X, the only station system in Ore space, is about 12 LY or so from Stacmon, and so should be 1 jumpable in a carrier with JDC4 and is 19 scoutable jumps:

what vac says... since I am not going to do so many jumps for an effort to mine in low sec...  especially not since I earn more with mining in high sec...
