After many, many, many, many years of not painting or assembling my miniatures and lots of neglect, I decided to start selling off my GW stuff. Starting with my Eldar BFG a while ago. Today I took a big suitcase full of GW stuff home from my parents' attic. Oh the joy of travelling by public transport for three hours with 3 suitcases, a bag and an army case! I'm making another trip in two weeks time.
But damn, it's hard to sell the stuff when you start taking out your Dwarfs out of your army case! All the hopes and dreams I had for the little guys came back right away. Luckily a firm punch on the arm from the gf (it hurt, like seriously) fixed that problem.
I'll be taking pictures and slapping them online soon. Just in case there are any interested GW nuts around, this is a rough indication of the stuff I found:
Dwarfs: 40-60 old plastic warriors, 64 new plastic warriors, 32 new plastic thunderers, 30-35 metal ironbreakers, 20-25 metal miners, 10 classic metal bolt throwers, 1 classic stone thrower, 16 plastic warriors gone crossbowmen, loads of metal heroes, lords, special edition standard bearer (2nd version) from army deal, Bugman (from Notts), etc, etc. Should have 12 or so Longbeards somewhere as well. And a classic gyrocopter or two.
Halflings: A unit of Lumpin Croop's, several classic halfling models.
Blood Bowl: box set, halfling team, should have some humies somewhere.
Eldar: converted plastic wave serpent, 2ish Falcons, 1ish Prism tank, loads of classic rangers (it's an Alaitoc force), 10-15 new rangers, 3 or so new plastic walkers, a heavie platform, various Seer models, one or two wraithlords.
Black Templars: various Forgeworld items like BT terminator shields, BT brass symbol and icon sheet, purity seals and flat skulls. A unit of new plastic marines, might be command squad ones. Various metal figurines, original Emp Champ, 2nd version Emp Champ.
Khemri: I reckon there's two scorpions, an altar of souls or whatever it's called, and all the units from a small battleset box of Khemri.
I also found two sets of templates (flame, small blast, big blast), the crashed space ship and alien scenery from the 40k starter set and the old Wind of Magic box which is in good condition. The book cover has a crease in it, but the cards are mint. I'll also have an empty army case left. Some tools like clippers and a cutting mat. I also have piles of White Dwarf Magazine, quite a few Army Book and Codexes and a rather good quality copy of the original Stone and Steel, Dwarf RPG and fluff book.
Best thing is, apart from some dwarf bolt throwers and old plastic warriors, everything is mostly unassembled, unpainted, new on sprue, new in blister, etc.
In case anyone is interested, let me know here and I'll post a link to the website I'll be posting the pics on in a little while. I'm going to try and sell them off through friends, family and online buddies first, before I move to sites like Ebay and stuff.
I'm thinking of aiming for 70-80% of store prices for the stuff that is either new in blister or new on sprue. Do you reckon that's reasonable or am I shooting myself in the foot? So I'd sell new Dwarf warriors on sprue for 20 euros instead of the 30 they go for in the store. Or would you sell them for 25 or something?
If you are or if you know someone who's looking to start or expand their Dwarf non gunpowder, Eldar Alaitoc. Khemri army or a Halfling blood bowl team, give them a heads up! I'll be busy taking pics and uploading in January. I'm unemployed after the 11th anyway, so I'll have something to keep me busy.
PS: that's not the reason I'm selling the GW minis. I just decided to get rid of some stuff in my life!
Any and all tips for selling are welcome!
