Modding sounds
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:51:59 PM »
I want to mod EVE sounds. Spesifically I want to make the sound of Sensor Booster something that doesn't drive me nuts. Perhaps changing it to a sonar ping or something. Anything really but the digital vomit sound that goes on and on and on and on and on... Else I refuse to fit that damn thing anymore :P

Eve has sound? ;)

Seriously though, this is why I turn it off.  Not being able to change volume of certain effects easily, the sound itself being a little 1980's arcade style in places - all adds up to an audio experience I'd sooner not have.

Right. I think I'll put iTunes on and turn EVE sounds off in the future then :)

The only sounds to hear are:

WARP DRIVE ACTIVE
And the sound of gate activations.

Everything else should be OFF.

Sylvia is the answer ! The TomTom sensual/sexy voice. It did only cost 5-6£ and is without doubt the best TomTom voice around.
I bought Sylvia and a few other cheap voices from TomTom just for fun.  I don't know if it is available anymore but I cannot see why not.
Ok, my children are all >14 but neither they nor my wife would dream of using another voice.
